08/10/2010 12:27 | Very tasty piece of analysis by BritishB on the Fool: Forecasts for next year are for £5m pretax profit and a forward PE around 7. They are already net cash on the balance sheet. I have no idea when the £6.5 license fee will hit their bank account but even if it's over the next couple of years it looks like they might have about half their current market cap covered by cash by end 2012 say. I guess the big question is whether this latest contract is a bit of a one-off in terms of size or if similar will follow. A few more of these and we'll have a £100m market cap on our hands with the likes of SAP and Oracle getting more than interested. It does look to me as if they have hit an absolute sweet spot, with a must have product, very little credible competition, high barriers to entry (HSBC have spent MILLIONS developing this stuff) at the perfect time. | simon gordon
07/10/2010 13:35 | Nicedude, Yes, FSG looks like it will deliver more bang for the buck. KBC really needs to breakthrough 60p with conviction. | simon gordon
07/10/2010 13:31 | simon - exactly my thoughts and 2 of my longer term holdings. focus is more in the uptrend though. | nicedude1976
07/10/2010 12:59 | They say things come in twos, today KBC a little small cap announced a monster contract for $42m spread over two and a half years, current market cap £29m. KBC have a similar long term chart to FSG. | simon gordon
07/10/2010 12:51 | FWIW I added again today. | dasv
07/10/2010 12:27 | FSG recommended in Share mag today as a buy. (no surprise) When I go into smith's I will take a look and give an update. | interceptor2
07/10/2010 10:03 | Can they start to crack the US market? 19 November 2009, US patent granted for focus:technology software Focus Solutions Group plc (AIM:FSG), a leading provider of proven enterprise solutions to the financial services market, is pleased to announce that it has been granted a patent by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for electronic forms and data verification. The patent covers the Group's innovative suite of highly flexible development tools, focus:technology, (previously known as goal:technology) which underpin all of the Group's focus:360° products. The software enables the rapid creation of web based user interfaces that can capture, validate and report data for financial services organisations. Through achieving this US patent, the Group is clearly demonstrating and protecting its IPR in relation to electronic form creation and data verification. To secure the US patent the Group had to prove that its technology was original, innovative and works. The patent is valid until June 24th 2024. This patent award follows the award of the UK patent (GB 2389499) for electronic forms and data verification which was granted in 2005. | envirovision
07/10/2010 08:29 | FSG could move up fairly rapidly from here. When you consider that most of their revenue are generated from the large UK banks. Now they have the contract in place with Mastex to resell the 360 product worldwide, I expect to see more contract wins soon. Regards........... | interceptor2
07/10/2010 08:14 | Second leg up,should carry them past the£1 mark. | mikeja |
