Think you should dyor...BHD handles plenty of E-jets & A320 etc. Issue is the length of the runway to enable access to further European destinations, which is why O’Leary fell out with them.

Agree, not looking good for the share price this morning and Stobart will now simply sit on the sidelines and sweep up assets at firesale prices. COW & Laffin should be matched out of the business for their failures in securing a takeover deal a few short months ago. It’s clear investors have zero confidence in the useless woman.

Why would they, apart from promoting Southend Airport, there will overcapacity in this sector soon, and Flybe is simply to small to compete efficiently against the others. Maybe there is a role for airports such as Belfast City which does not seem to have a runway long enough for jets, but these are few, and the cash on the balance sheet is all accounted for. It will continue to make losses, so the future is bleak. The big discounters just dominate this space, and unless you have a holiday arm such as Jet2 where is there a place in the market to fill.

On a serious note, at what price does this look good value? Would Stobart renew their interest at these levels?

The BOD and CEO will not care about investors views they already have our money and will get paid at the end of the month.

In my mind, what really messed this up was the unsustainable model from years back and that grandiose order of the EJets. They have been fighting the tide since then with some respite over the last few years as the oilprice was low, it gave them an opportunity to rescue the business - which they did as they were heading to the wall back then. Now, with the oilprice back over $80/bbl and Brexit looming over FLYB's European routes, there is considerable cost pressure and uncertainty ahead. If they were cautious, a fundraiser to see them through the foreseeable, would be the best way to go.

Amazed that CoW is still in situ, not to mention Laffin. Both should be gone by now and let people who actually understand business and in particular the airline industry, take control

They are hardly responsible for the oil price or the pound tanking. Brexit not helping either.

If we have a hard Brexit these may be gone in 6 months. Referendum and they could be back at 50p+ (if remain wins of course).

All up in the air ATM. You pays your money and you takes your pick.

All imho dyor etc etc

I'd say it's more likely... Given the price... They can get cheap shares and put takeover offer in at say... 30p... Hmmm..

Enthusiastic shorters, one would think they had forgotten this spiked to 48p in Feb/March with talk of a takeover from Stobart, which is precisely the sort of thing that could pitch up again at any time... OK, so it's not likely specifically today...

Topped up. This is perfectly positive:

"Flybe's strategy to reduce capacity(1) to focus on its most popular routes has delivered both higher load factors(2) and revenue per seat(3) . In Q2, load factors were up year-on-year by 7.2 percentage points to 86.6%, a record load factor for the Summer season. Passenger revenue per seat was up 6.8% as capacity reduced by 10.0%.

For the first half as a whole, the load factor increased by 8.0 percentage points to 84.0%, with passenger revenue per seat estimated to be up 8%. Yield, was down c. 2% (c. 1% of which relates to the impact of the removal of credit card fees from January 2018)."

Sure there are a lot of medium term issues - although some will affect the whole industry and gradually prices will rebalance.

IMHO DYOR

Indeed - as their big pile of retained losses shows.

Bad investment / worthless equity, quite possibly but I am sure we can all agree that it is a useful service!

Not sure where you can go from here....I try to imagine what Ryanair would do try and do to make it profitable. The major change would be a big reduction in the cost of aircraft....but of course they don't (and cant in many cases) use 737s

Cant see it happening though....if they wanted it, they could have bought it from their petty cash tin!

DYOR!!

Always something with Flyb, every single time they report.

Considering they have a virtual monopoly on domestic routes, if they cant make money now then I doubt if they ever will. Some businesses just never seem to be a good investment.
