17/10/2018 10:42 | Hit the nail on the head there Danny! Of course the chance of any public subsidy is near enough nil, if not actually illegal so I suspect a capital raising will touch down at some point. Have to question Stobart's skills in this sector...... | woodsman2004
17/10/2018 10:26 | New all time low and has lost 94% of its original value. Don't understand why CoW didn't completely kitchen sink it today. Not sure why anyone would pay a premium atm - why not let it continue to decline and pick up the pieces cheaper later on. Stobart must be thanking their lucky stars the deal they offered was rejected. | toffeeman
17/10/2018 10:25 | Always thought Flybe provided a public service with private investors' money. Regional airlines in the UK will always need some form of subsidy which rightly should come from local or national government not at regular intervals from shareholders. Hope somehow they can improve Flybe's financial performance. | danny baker
17/10/2018 10:19 | The Q2 numbers are actually pretty good. They had 16.6% cost per seat increase in Q1 so delivering only a +5.0% cost per seat increase in H1 they must have had some pretty major cost cutting in Q2. Unfortunately it's too little, too late. With a weak H2 for demand and their favourable hedges expiring then I can only see FY19/20 being another loss making year and unlike a few years ago their balance sheet can no longer support extended losses. I can't see how they mange to avoid a capital raise and at this juncture that has to be a rights issue really. | dangersimpson2
17/10/2018 10:15 | Not a holder but have thought about in past as regular business passenger ever since the Jack Walker days! I must admit that when I saw RYA results a few weeks ago, it did cross my mind that if the most efficient, profitable operator with the highest load factor and mostly fuel-hedged was feeling the pain, then the read through for the others was likely to be painful. Probably cant read too much into my recent business trips but certainly less full than have been in the past - and it looked like fewer leisure passengers rather than business. Hope it survives in its current form as its a good, useful service....but of course that does not equal profitability. DYOR | woodsman2004

17/10/2018 09:24 | Reading the statement from CoW this morning and it’s crystal clear she is running around like a little girl lost she is in denial and again fails to admit any culpability. Laffin is equally incapable and radical restructuring is required right away. The business model has been incapable of turning a profit and failed plans go right back to French’s door. However there have been plenty of opportunities to change tack, but CoW hasn’t the brains to know what to do. | el8ted
