07/12/2001 00:56 | Thanks for that Robbb. So that gives the 61.8% - is another level 100-61.8 = 38.2% (not sure why this should be so but the number rings a bell)? Where does the 50% come from, and are there any other levels besides these 3? I was trying to work out Fib support levels on LOG given retracement from yesterday's high, but not sure where to call the base from which the rise began. ADVFN data gives this for LOG last 3 full days: Date,EPIC,Open price,High price,Low price,Close price,Volume 03/12/01,LOG,770,785 04/12/01,LOG,760,784 05/12/01,LOG,790,887 If take the close on 04/12 to close on 05/12 the gain is +129.5 - a 61.8% Fib would give -80 which comes in at 807 from that close on 05/12. A 50% Fib comes in at 822. Yet it seemed to bounce off of 815. If take the highs (candlestick) of 784 and 887, Fib's at 61.8 and 50 yield potential supports at 823 and 835 (so again no match to the 815 turn today). Missed the damn thing whilst piddling around with this of course ;-) | nur0mancer

07/12/2001 00:37 | Croc. Thanks for update on PSN. I should declare my hand. After your strong recommendation I did my own research yesterday and came to a similar conclusion to you. Went long on spread bet at 321. Worried a bit when L2 v.weak yesterday but feel much happier today. Many thanks for drawing my attention to it. Bruce. | bruce8
07/12/2001 00:35 | picked a few sdd up .074 | dodddy
07/12/2001 00:35 | SerrtaedEdge - yes there was a price cross over and then an auction on SIG. I know because it happened right on my stop which was therefore not triggered. My stop was 92.5 fortunately I got out at 94p with CMC just after auction. | bruce8
07/12/2001 00:33 | Afternoon all Ruth I have been watching log for a while. There was support at 830 on the way down and it seems to be resistance on the way back, (also at 850)It seems to tank when the FTSE turns down also. I think there may be some points 835 to 850 but needs buys to sells over 3 to 1 in my view Martin | hobleg
07/12/2001 00:32 | nuro Fib sequence is 1,1,2,3,5,8 etc where each no. added to the previous one gives the next in the series. The ratio between one number and the next one tends towards .618. Thats it in simple terms. Regards Rob | robbb
07/12/2001 00:30 | went long bats @5.50 this morning closed +11 been watching all day going long again @5.49 fingers crossed! | drummerboy
07/12/2001 00:30 | A few mins ago, SIG was showing a negative bid-offer spread. Maybe it was a data error, maybe it was real? Anyway it evaporated before I could take advantage of it :-( | serratededge
07/12/2001 00:27 | bt back on its way down | ruth
07/12/2001 00:19 | mjwill, pls be careful with cgnu: insurers seem to be coming back into favour. dresdner put out a +100 note on it this am. looks like an inverse h&s has formed since end oct. the neckline was broken today. sdawson is a better judge of h&s, and yes, i am long. Robbb, lol | hawkeye
07/12/2001 00:19 | Anyone please explain how Fibonnaci levels are worked out - I think the percentages are around 32, 50, 61 etc but how are these figures come by? By that I don't mean how does one calculate 61% of a rise, but how are the percentage figures arrived at (why 61 and not 64, what is the algorithm)? | nur0mancer
07/12/2001 00:15 | goforit - no covered for -1 been making some nice mney on ari recently trades between 3.15 -3.25 but looks to have broekn out of it. We shall see | matthewa

07/12/2001 00:14 | Bruce End of year is Dec but results will be released at a later date. I must say I believed this to be one of the best bets on the stock market. I have a very large long position and as I said in the weekend thread I expect at least a 20% gain. So far so good. D | crocodile |
