The thing about if the bid is off is that the shares are now below the pre-bid level. A profit warning would of course be a double negative as it would also make a bid less likely. My thought (and i hope to be right!) is that it almost has a look of everyone worrying caused by other people's worries and that the 'rumour' is then almost invented to justify the share price move.

Commisserations to the 2 guys who've taken their loss, you're honesty is refreshing amidst all the normal ramping etc we see on bbs. I am also losing long-term.

Called the company and they have confirmed that nothing has changed since their recent statement and they will update the market at their AGM, bid is still on

Rumour of a profit warning is not a convincing explanation in these circumstances. The rumour can only relate to the bid.
