how you say in u.k it was a cheeky bid,as for the past 3 years all bids started low and end up 30%plus higher.

i think you are correct i have heard whispers of bidding war, let the fun begin

the hostile bidders should show there hands this week. look at volume yesterday hardly the business of a agreed bidder, there are a few parties involved my guess.

I have made the mistake before of selling out prematurely on bid announcements when, if I had held on, the eventual take out price was much higher eg Novar - remember that, rather similar company to FKI, three divisions etc but under valued. And like PandO ports, the appearance of one bidder may flush out other parties. I would be surprised if it dipped much below its current level. And 130p may simply be an indicative opening bid...

Not so sure. The market clearly senses that something is about to happen. There has long been talk of break up, annual results and an announcement are close, now we have confirmation of bid interest as well. Any dip tomorrow will be limited and short lived in my opinion. We don't have long to wait to see if I am right or wrong.

share shark. some of the astute buyers have been in since about 90p. I bought a few more at 92p, but I think they may have fallen to 88p on intra day trades at the low. all very juicy...

Here's your bid confirmation. 130p is a bit measly! Hope they can do better than that. Tomorrow should be an interesting day.

FKI plc ('FKI' or the 'Company')

The Board of FKI notes the recent movement in the Company's share price and
confirms that it has been approached in relation to an offer for the Company at
around 130 pence per ordinary share. The Board of FKI continues to explore all
options available to the Company and intends to announce, with the preliminary
results on 7 June 2007, the conclusions of the strategic review announced in
November last year.

The Board of FKI stresses that there can be no certainty that any offer will be
made for the Company and the Board will inform shareholders of any further
developments as appropriate.

This announcement is being made without the approval of the potential offeror.
Accordingly, even if an offer is made, there can be no certainty as to the terms on which such offer will be made.

Over 33 million volume and a 8p rise for what is normally a snail of a share. Looks like there might be something in the bid rumour. I shall await the RNS tomorrow with extreme interest.

Average daily volume is around 6 million. Yesterday we topped 10 million and we are already above 18 million today. The rise looks well supported. A bid before results? Time will tell.

would have thought that turnover would be 160 mil rather than 16 mil , if the rumours were that good , but looking at the figs eps and pe ,and divi it looks a good bet
