12/9/2018 22:48 | I just got engaged n bought a diamond, I don't think I would have ever considered a lab diamond, now would I in the future. But that just me, I suppose there is a market for everything nowadays. Let's hope we find some larger carats in the ground. soon. | astjgroom
12/9/2018 18:38 | Yes Andy held and followed FDI over 10 years ago and was surprised to find the share price so low. Seems a good time to take an interest again and will look forward to hearing how the 2nd half has been in Dec | davethehorse
12/9/2018 17:01 | dave, Is this an all time low? it looks like it on the chart, it's so hard to tell re entry point but the price has been more or less stable recently, so you may have chosen a good time. | andy
12/9/2018 12:21 | Just added a few at just over 5p hoping this is a good entry price. | davethehorse
12/9/2018 08:36 | Some interesting comment on "synthetics"! | andy
11/9/2018 21:44 | astj, When you think about it it's all clever marketing by De Beers, remember "a diamond is for life"? They don't want stones coming back onto the market, so they advertise in a way that makes people keep old rings. It's the same with synthetic when you really think about it, if the stone looks good on the finger, does it really matter if it was manufactured in a lab ten minutes ago, or somewhere down in the mantle a few hundred million years ago? I'm amazed they haven't caught on yet, the average person could not tell the difference, but they could have larger and nicer stones on their finger! | andy
11/9/2018 10:02 | ast, To be fair, when a woman receives a sparkler, how many times do you think she asks "where's it from"? She's too busy showing it off to her friends to care, IMO. | andy
10/9/2018 22:18 | I think it's a mistake, part of a Diamonds value is that they have to be dug and be lucky to be found, toiled. To give a lab grown diamond removes all the romance, rats can be grown in a lab, not diamonds. They are removing the romance, the value and appeal. I would never give anyone a lab grown diamond, 'where is from?' 'Oh it's grown in a lab' wtf. If they wanna tackle blood diamonds they should ethically source, pay decent wages and make certified. IMHO! | astjgroom
04/9/2018 15:15 | DeBeers up to their tricks : | abtwo
04/9/2018 14:05 | But the US-Rand exchange is is rising so, in effect the local costs are falling compared to the revenue received in US$ (except probably fuel costs). | abtwo
03/9/2018 12:15 | Maybe the Indian buyers are having difficulty getting funding : | abtwo
30/8/2018 09:24 | They've only been digging in the high grade area a few months, perhaps 4 now?, and grades are slightly improving with quantity recovered increasing, those two points are facts in the accounts, they've also found two larger diamonds in what was low grade. the diamonds are there, this is fact, patience is needed as they get into the pipe. | astjgroom |
