FTC ooks so cheap if you look forward. Most UK investors don't of course, and therein lies the opportunity. |
Fantastic! |
Filtronic plc (AIM: FTC), the designer and manufacturer of products for the aerospace, defence, space and telecoms infrastructure markets, is pleased to provide the following trading update ahead of reporting its interim results for the six months ended 30 November 2024.
The Group expects to report a strong set of results for the period with significant growth in revenue and profits. Customer demand remains robust with the second half benefitting from pull-forward of customer orders. Consequently, the Board now expects to deliver stronger results for the full year than current market expectations. |
Watched Bond film "Die another day" yesterday.
Certain Musk element there! |

NYC is York |
Oh, North Yorkshire? |
I think you have got wrong end of the stick, when I said moving in NY to their new UK premises, which is why no news, concentrating on moving and setting up... |
To get big enough to find US attention will require news flow which will mean it will do very well as a UK company. Moving domicile is also bl00dy expensive. |
"Total tiddler by US standards"
It might be right now but that may well not remain the case!!
Cheers |
Total tiddler by US standards, not sure it would attract new interest |
I expect FTC are spending most of there time gearing up for NY move... |
Link to the most recent award.
I cannot see this on the FTC website, wonder why? |
Think we just need some solid news on contracts, price just drifting currently on lack of news. |
With all the awards they are winning, new premises and expanded facilities I'll be amazed if they don't smash expectations going forward. I'd also expect more news soon. IIRC at Mello last month they said FTC was firing on all cylinders, so things look excellent |
I read today that China is also launching their own Starlink system, rocket went up today.... |
Big trades today a new buyer in town Vol 2m |
You too Bazworth. I think 2025 could be very exciting for the company! |
Mike Nicolls, SpaceX’s Vice President of Starlink Engineering commented: “Filtronic has been an outstanding supplier for Starlink. They have matched our rate ramp and increasing demand for high-quality parts. Their strong engineering teams have taken ownership of their production process to meet our needs, taking their designs from wafer to functional unit, and are delivering quality parts in E-band which will enable the Starlink network to continue to grow and connect millions of more people around the world with high-speed, low-latency broadband internet.”
What SpaceX thinks of Filtronic. I think this dates from the time of the agreement between the two companies. Thanks to edwards9 for passing on Elon's tweet. |
5/12/24 Elon tweet on X:Starlink's giant latency advantage is the real killer. Current Starlink satellites at ~550km are ~65 times closer than geosynchronous satellites. Our next generation satellites will be at ~350km, so >100 times closer. |
faz, well done!
I agree entirely with what you say. I've been with FTC for too many years to recall and, as best I can do, understand the history of the company and have an eye to the future too. At least what I hope to see as the future here, nothing is certain!!
The turnaround started by our recent CEO has been quite remarkable, let's hope that the journey continues in the right direction. There are clear signs that suggest that it will do.
I hope your investment here pays you well...!!
Cheers & good luck |
