Quite happy with the trading update.Revenues at £13.25m well ahead of market expectations of £12.25m.Profits in line for the reason given.Not bad at this stage of their development.

So just to counter my post when the offer was 2.14 and now it's 1.78. Quite a retrace and unsurprisingly no longer my star performer of 2018. But I'm happy to be holding for the medium term still......

Indeed. Shows some concerted buying. If they can get the franchise momentum going the runway here is a decade long IMO.

A great start to 2018. That's a 40pc rise in the last couple of weeks. My best performer of the (short) year so far by a mile. I'll ride this a little longer but delighted with the return ?

Feature article in City A.M. today which explains the customer base some more. One key statement in that, from Sayers, is about the absence of customer churn. That feature is attractive for franchisees. Also on the business model they have a sales team winning customers on behalf of franchisees. This makes a lot of sense to me and looks like a win win for everyone. Hopefully this sort of PR is a prelude to a positive forthcoming earnings statement.

Expectations reassurance: "We are experiencing strong growth in our fryer management business FiltaFry, seal replacement business FiltaSeal and our newly acquired drain maintenance business FiltaGMG". Good deal for the acquirer, but getting distraction out of the way to concentrate on the differentiated parts is a good thing. The trend to follow here is the mechanisation of fast food, the reduction in manpower, and thus the necessity to outsource the parts of the operation which FLTA provides.

I'm anticipating a post year end TS in Jan or Feb. No reason in the short history so far to think the company will issue news any more frequently than that.

Jonwig - that's my nervousness. Looking at the history of trading updates there's nothing to compare to historically to see when to expect another, other than results in April. Last update/results was on 7 Sep so we're a quarter gone already.

UK micro-caps have a tendency to leak information. I've seen it so often that a pre-emptive stoploss is prudent.

I've not sold. I'm cautious based on the price action, but I'm still above my basis so I'm not that concerned. I think people are more used to the kind of ramptastic non-news which comes out of some companies in the resource, biotech and tech space. In any case I was always waiting for the next trading update / FY results. There has been no change in broker (singular) estimates since September according to Stockopedia.

No idea - their newsflow about new N America franchises seems to have dried up. FWIW I sold at 190 and 170. Lack of posts here suggests others may have done much the same.
