TAKEN PART FROM THE PTS BOARD.

Investors have been monitoring Patsystems since it emerged last month that its 29.8 per cent shareholder Ion Trading, a Dublin-based group, had bought a 25 per cent stake in rival Ffastfill, including the 76m shares owned by Gartmore.

The secretive Ion provides bond trading software and was founded in 1999 by chief executive Andrea Pignataro, an Italian former bond trader. It has backing from TA Associates, which owns a minority stake, and invested €35m for the stake, estimated to be about 30 per cent, in 1994.

While ION has given little hint as to its intentions with the stake of either company, analysts acknowledge that a combination of the pair could lead to signficant cost savings.

THIS ALSO FROM THE PTS BOARD.

FinnCap reiterated their BUY recommendation on PTS yesterday - they also became joint broker to FFA in November

MMs still doing ION's work for them......ION are doing the same as are doing with PTS. MMs marking down and then down again and ION will picking up the stock cheaply on there way to getting to 29.9%

Ive been FFA for 7yrs and bought for the mediun to long term....I got in at 7.5p and Ive been down to 3p over those years...I always kept the faith "just" and thought FFA would be taken out at some point....That point I now feel is not far away.....another 6 to 12 twelve months away.
ION have taken over Rolfe and Nolan this year they have a 29% stake in PTS a 25% stake in FFA and they have very big backers in TA Associates...At some point they are going to put all 3 together or try too.

Thank you fo that reassuring reply. My finger has been hovering over the sell button these past few days as my profit slowly shrinks and I gaze at the "Sell too soon" advice sticker on the wall. A Rothschild quote I think.

ION and Herald Investments both bought there 25% and 10% stakes at 10p when the share price at the time was at 7.5p, I am assumming ION wont stop at 25% and will keep mopping up to 29.9% as they have done with PTS. The MM's know they have a buyer or buyers so will keep dropping the share price and slowly and picking up any stock too pass it on to ION or whoever???? in chunks at 10p
I believe there is another buyer out there just under the radar of 3% at the moment. I have no proof of this though just a gut feeling from all the trading activity from last week. The amount of shares that went through as large buys was more than the ION and Herald stakes so I am assumming some else was buying over those few days

Could you explain to me please, bugs bunney, why anyone would be willing to pay 10p for shares which are currently being offered at 9p or less?

MM's shaking the branches for the weakest stock knowing there are buyers who are willing to pay 10p
Nice work if you can get it.
