I think the directors have already a large stake in this. I would prefer to see an Institution take a disclosable position or increase a stake significantly

Do you think investors will sue the auditor of Patisserie Holdings? Genuine question.

And no I do not believe many large companies are corrupt to the core.

I believe they are driven obsessively by profit generation and profit growth and long may that continue. But such obsession is controlled by the rule of law and scrutiny of published accounts by global audit firms who are sued if they fail investors.

No I don't

I am keeping an open mind until I hear and read the company's half year results and commentary

I do not accept that companies are inherently corrupt. I believe in business ethics and standards and the scrutiny of global audit firms.

clearly share profit people have an axe to grind

despite what anyone say the accounting mishap is at best odd

it unlikely anything sinister would be left so easy to spot
audit and finance team more probably let ball drop if it an actual issue

Moorsie read fact many large companies corrupt to core team
asking questions is what make thing honest

either way Moorsie do you agree it takes away somewhat from earnings ?

Thanks for the advice Moorsie. It raises a question in my mind, however: If a company’s executives overtly reject basic principles of corporate governance, such as rotating ones auditor, why would you not question them?

Be careful if you are calling into question here the honesty of the directors and or the global professional services company....

Yes, they will have been signed off by KPMG Belfast, their auditor of 20 years... has anyone ever heard of the Cadbury Report?

That’s not technically true. They are yet to complete the transaction, although it has now been agreed. Still, they didn’t own 100% during any of the previous 3 years.

No they don’t. They own 65% of it. They have recently agreed to acquire the remaining 35%, but in the last three sets a of annual accounts they only owned 65%. And yet, they consolidated the revenues and profits 100%, with out any minority interest line on the p&l. It’s Quite odd.

Shareprophets making more noise on FD this morning. The accusation is simple: they have been fully consolidating the revenues and profits of the Kx subsidiary, of which they own 65%. That's ok - however, there has been no minority interest line on the P&L so the EPS has been (allegedly) overstated by 30 to 50%. Normally, when a third of your reported EPS is attributable to non controlling interests in a subsidiary, you highlight this on the P&L. I wonder if the company has anything to say about it.

Interesting use of the word "Material" - looks like they are responding to the shorter criticism..
