In other factom news Alibaba are buying into Smartrac.48Smartrac Technology Group has announced that Alibaba Group will invest in the firm with the aim of ensuring both companies’ commitment to reinforce brand protection strategies.

As a result of this agreement, President of Alibaba Group, Michael Evans, will join Smartrac’s Supervisory Board.

“At Alibaba, we are continuously innovating and partnering to provide market-leading solutions and highest levels of brand protection for our clients,” Evans said in a press release.

“We are thrilled to support Smartrac and together provide brands with innovative product authentication solutions at scale.”

Smartrac has created a large suite of RFID-based solutions that aid the company’s Internet of Things (IoT) platform, Smart Cosmos.

To put the above into context for anyone who hasn’t kept up with the factom story so far..
50Add this from last months Factom AMA

Currently, Factom’s biggest IoT client is the Department of Homeland Security, which is now entering the 4th phase of the SVIP (Silicon Valley Innovation Program).

The dLoc partnership with SMARTRAC- the leading developer of RFID (Radio Frequency Identification), qualifies as an IoT and is in demand among institutions that issue vital records including governments, banks, hospitals, and universities. However, the implementation of technology to such big enterprises results in a slower start-up processes.

In the past, Factom has had limited resources to attack markets outside of mortgage and banking. However, IoT is a going to become more of a strategic focus for Factom in the coming months. One of the major advantages of having IoT clients, is they will likely drive the entry credit usage up more than any other sector.

Does anyone know when to expect news from Factom B. Normally these popular raises are over in a matter of days.

It’s crazy. Last week £400k worth bought and it doesn’t move. Then a few days later a few small trades and it goes up 4%. Today a few Pocket money trades and down it goes. Tried a few dummy trades. Could buy any amount. Selling had to drop to 10k shares before I could get a quote . Just hope I don’t have to sell these in a hurry. In it for the long term as I don’t see anything making this move any decent amount in the short term. Now for the match

We are incredibly excited to increase our stake in Leap. Ffwd wants bigger positions in its best companies. Big positions in great companies means great returns #ffwd

Hope you’re right Jonesy. You say you expect that to be the bare minimum. What figure would you have in mind

It is not an expected x10 uplift Fotolife factom. That’s the bare minimum uplift for Series B Funding.

That’s $50 million at 33%. I expect amount raised to be far greater and the % lower. % will be lower due to the fact factom now have commercial products that they are selling, plus stage 4 funding from the US Department of Homeland Security and their greatly advanced Bill Gates medical play. Series B funding % is always based on risk, there appears very little risk from where I’m sitting. Make your choices buy more, sell or hold.

The average discount for private equity funds is around 15% discount to NAV, so with our extra from Aphria and our expected 10x from Factom that put NAV to around 14p up from the quoted 10p. So at 15% discount it would put the share price at around 12p. So it seems about right

lots of investment trusts trade at a discount to NAV, i advise with an fca license, i am nit sure what your business is logman ?

Anything is possible but as a say this looks really good value and markets can be irrational.

Anyone with average at 16p would not post what you just did kristin, and why would it drop below current nav, not march nav.Do not believe a word you say ,unless you really new to buying aim shares.Easy to spot people like you .

The new nav is not over 16 p.Look again.Kristin12 you are actually worse with your if it drops nearer 10 p.Ten years, you are not invested here, so so obvious.

so if drops i buy more at nearer 10p- if not just hold what represents good value

So many people jump to conclusions and shout ramper or deramper when they nothing about the poster, just smacks of a little ignorance........

jones- I am 'heavily' invested having added at 16p

it says NAV 10.18 p in recent update, not sure where you're getting 16p from? I assumed that the aphria encashment was factored in to 10.18, all the better if not and i agree the potential here is good

i bought a year ago at circa 12p, top sliced at 28p intra day post aphria news and added too early at 17p and 16p; overall all looking good -would add more if this fell to 10p which would seem ridiculous but anything possible on AIM

As I said on Friday historic figures relating to 31st March are essentially of little interest because they don’t tell us anything we haven’t known for some time. The NAV of 10.18 is clearly much higher now following the Aphria disposal which crystalised a massive gain. Indeed 10.18 wasn’t a true figure even at 31st March but as we all know accounting conventions require valuations at cost unless some event occurs to validate a higher value such as a Placing or a Sale.
There is a lot of potentially very good news to come at anytime with this share and it has show its ability in the past to move very quickly.

With a NAV at 10.18 we trade at a big premium so this is long term, one to forget for a good while..............

It' in my pension and in 10 years could 40x with some luck along the way ...

results look good, down the line looks good but down we go, one day we might get an RNS and go up now that would be different lol, maybe releasing results after hours on a Friday 17.44pm after everyone's gone home is not the right thing to do this also happened last time, but never mind, one day

Kickwheel £260k big deal. DBC no one has rated or discussed it in 2 years big deal.

Factom is just brilliant that’s a huge huge increase in value, around $5.5 million at 33% Series B.
Yooya looks so interesting now with a 15% holding.

The aphria value is £2 million more than results as it was sold after. Leap gaming with IMG (people need to google them) holding 25% is incredible with ourselves holding over a 1/3rd of the company.
Vogogo with 1% of the bitcoin hashrate is massive. Juvenescence could be the biggest of the lot. Vemo doing great things.

A huge rerate is coming.
