06/8/2007 17:24 | Falklands stocks are better on the back of five (yes five) pages of this weekend's Red Hot Penny Shares devoted to the Falklands. Talks about Desire, Rockhopper, Borders, but plumps for FOGL on the basis that it has the biggest acreage and on it being in talks with a major. | ![]() eburne1960
30/7/2007 17:05 | FKL's holding in FOGL now accounts for 67% of its market value. | ![]() grgkecer
23/7/2007 20:11 | The gearing of FKL relative to FOGL has increased from about 0.5 to about 0.6. | ![]() grgkecer

13/6/2007 08:28 | Look good results to me and upbeat prospects, what they say about oil interesting: "In parallel with the exploration programme FOGL has continued discussions with potential farm-in partners and rig owners. The objective remains a drilling programme commencing in 2008". | walker10
01/6/2007 09:21 | Prospects of oil is as good as it gets: | walker10
22/5/2007 18:11 | Taken from FOGL AGM statement dated 16.05.07 "The strategy and focus for the next 12 months remain unchanged. We continue to look to introduce suitable farm-in partners whilst at the same time evaluating the rig options. This is in combination with our operations program which will enable us to select the best prospects for drilling. It is against this robust program that a number of different scenarios and interesting opportunities could develop for the Company during the next year. The Board believes that the current exploration program will lead to an exciting drilling program that could see the development of a new petroleum province in the South Atlantic." | walker10
30/4/2007 10:45 | Taken from DES results today re drilling: In addition to the Company's efforts to acquire a partner, collaboration continues with other Licensees in the Falklands, whose commitment matches our own, and it is a matter of when, rather than if, drilling takes place. It a matter of when rather than if. | walker10
27/4/2007 18:26 | While waiting for the oil to be found! their not doing to bad on the tourist front ; "The South Atlantic archipelago is experiencing an unprecedented wave of visitors". | walker10
27/4/2007 11:24 | A little more on FIPASS; | walker10
27/4/2007 11:24 | Taken from Hydrocarbons daily record dated 26.Aril 07: "Two representatives from Royal Haskoning Mr. Nick van der Sluijs, a consultant in port and terminal planning and Mr. Julian Hodnett, a principal engineer are visiting the Falkland Islands in order to have a look at how FIPASS can be developed for more business. They are focusing on the fishing industry but have also expressed an interest in development for the hydrocarbons industry". Its a long way to go for a jolly,I like the last bit: "but have also expressed an interest in development for the hydrocarbons industry". a bit of forward planning maybe!! | walker10

15/1/2007 14:21 | February 22nd 2006: "The board of FIH has advised FOGL and KBC Peel Hunt that FIH does not intend to dispose of any further shares in FOGL, other than in exceptional circumstances, for at least the next 12 months. KBC Peel Hunt is Nominated Adviser and Broker to FOGL and Broker to FIH for the purposes of the AIM Rules and Dawnay Day is the Nominated Adviser to FIH." | ![]() grgkecer
15/1/2007 13:26 | Aye. 40p would have been nice instead of 6p. Hence the decline in the share price I wonder what plans they have for the FOGL holding. | ![]() britishbear
15/1/2007 12:15 | If they were going to sell FGML, it's a pity thay didn't do it earlier. | ![]() grgkecer
19/10/2006 14:01 | grgkecer. Yes, there is probably more overlap in the businesses than I had supposed. The share price of FKL has been eratic the last day or so. Wonder if something's brewing? | ![]() whackford
19/10/2006 13:06 | whackford I don't quite see how you come to that conclusion: "We supply meats and food products, beers and wines but more recently we've been taking out the Argos catalogue and we've had huge numbers of orders. We've even had MFI design special kitchens for the islanders and shipped them out there." Mr Buckley, who has worked for the company for 47 years, said: "We now have up to 55 pallets leaving Sunderland bound for the Falkland Islands every six to eight weeks. "We also supply St Helena and Ascension Island in the South Atlantic and provide stores to the bases in the Antarctic. Sounds as though FKL should buy them. | ![]() grgkecer
17/10/2006 07:57 | grgkecer. Interesting. Sounds as if Gibbons supply white goods and larger ticket items. Should do well if the economy takes off. I don't know if FIC operate in this market. | ![]() whackford

02/10/2006 08:56 | grgkecer. Right - Tullow's bid may be contested. When you say "certainty of further delay", delay in what - the outcome of the Tullow bid? I cannot see why it is a certainty to delay drilling. | ![]() whackford
30/9/2006 08:06 | whackford You seem to have assumed that the Tullow bid for Hardman will be uncontested, which is not necessarily the case. Various companies larger than Tullow have been suggested as possible counter-bidders, and any conclusion as to the impact on FOGL must await events. The fall in the FOGL share price reflects the uncertainty of the outcome and the certainty of further delay. | ![]() grgkecer
27/9/2006 15:45 | I have put a note on FOGL thread about impact of Hardman takeover on FOGL/FKL. | ![]() whackford |
