UK company insolvency statistics for 2019
The 2019 company insolvency stats for England and Wales have been published by The Insolvency Service, alongside UK insolvency statistics for October to December 2019 (Q4).

2019 Company Insolvency Statistics
Company insolvency statistics for England and Wales 2019

In 2019, total underlying company insolvencies increased to their highest annual level since 2013.
This was driven largely by an increase in underlying creditors’ voluntary liquidations, which reached their highest annual level since 2009.
Administrations increased in 2019 compared to 2018, while compulsory liquidations decreased, and company voluntary arrangements were flat.
The company insolvency statistics for 2019 showed that there were 17,196 underlying company insolvencies in 2019, a 6.8 per cent increase on 2018 and the highest level of underlying insolvencies since 2013.

My take on the new £50,000 loan scheme.A large number of small companies will not want to take on more debt under any circumstances. The ones that do, will be split between the ones that need money to live on, and the ones that might still be around in years to come. It’s pretty obvious that the government will never see a large part of the debt ever repaid.I would take the cash and then go bust if trading does not improve. The worst thing would be to burden yourself with the new debt just through paying your existing company invoices or staff.I can see criminality creeping in through the back door.It does put money into the supply chain and might be the only cash some businesses ever see again.

The MM are doing a roaring trade after filling a large buy order at £1.23P on Friday.
They are in it to make a profit.

BEG and FRM have year ends this week. Trading statements are likely to follow next week.
Last year BEG released an RNS on 7th May.They will create interest from different quarters. The market itself is ripe for another downward lurch as the virus implications sink in for businesses.

Indeed, which is a surprise to me as this seems an obvious direction to head in in the current climate. I'm guessing any extra profit won't show for a year or so?
