Good strong inline statement as would be expected early in the new financial year, and good the hear that last years developments costs and restructuring at £2,452m are seeing the benefits flow through this year.

This is a very bullish and positive statement imv. Looks like the investments made last year are starting to flow through too.

As Saucepan says to achieve the "inline" is some feat.

265% eps growth is forecast, according to ShareScope. It is reassuring they are on track to achieve that, as it is quite a number.

From today's AGM statement:"The Group has enjoyed a strong year to date in 2019, both in terms of turnover and improved margins, which is a consequence of further rationalisation of the supply chain. In addition, the investments we made in 2018 are now flowing through in terms of new products being released in 2019; with one such example being the granting of the Bank of England settlement accounts and direct access to the Faster Payments scheme."The Board expects the Group's trading performance for the full year to be in line with market expectations."

Well, I've bought back my £1.22 (bit jammy) sale from last month and added just now. Looks a bargain to me - sure the £ is weak but it's at almost exactly the same rate as last year and the weather back then started getting good around 20th May which then went on for months. Looks a weak comparative IMO with a trading update due on the 17th. Hope you're not left throwing the TV into the pool :)
