FFX gets a mention (positively I hasten to add): HTTPS://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/holidays/article-6893625/Holidaymakers-set-shed-pounds-trip-abroad-owing-string-currency-rip-offs.html

That is not on ...copyright. I would recommend subscription..cheap and good value...but like anyone else gets caught out sometimes...his portfolio record is outstanding over the long term. And he also does Momentum Investor which comes out in between the SCSW issues so if there is any change on a company one can get a 2 weekly review. I would also suggest that the marketmakers will mark it up tomorrow and I would not recommend buying until the dust settles...wherever that may be. He also recommended Softcat at the end of 2015 and it is up about 300%...and Altitude up over 300%

SCSW has made it it's lead recommendation and full analysis. That is the basis of the comment imo!

Doubled up this morning at 102 and change. Moving more funds back into shares given recent political events... or lack thereof. Risk of retesting recent circa 90 lows here but weight of good news and progress helping business catch up with its valuation imo dyor ofc.

I don’t think ffx has a banking licence. It got “settlements” approval from the BoE early this year and I seem to remember an interview with the CEO quite recently in which he said a banking licence was something they might pursue in the future.

11, a quick email to questor, and/or the company might get a reply.

From the Questor blog.

"It also operates what amount to bank accounts, although it does not have a banking licence, and offers an expenses service to companies."

I thought we did have a Banking Licence, it came with the last take-over.

Why would both Mastercard and Visa both bid for Earthport which aas loss making and completely ignore ffx. Do they believe EPO has a better future than ffx

From the Questor blog.

"This column’s view is that FairFX could easily be next to fall to a bid but even if it remains independent there is excellent scope for growth in turnover, profits and the share price. The company does not pay a dividend but is able to reinvest its earnings in the business at a high rate of return, estimated at 21pc in 2020."

"estimated at 21pc in 2020"...…...can anyone tell me how this happens.

From the Quester blog.

"We can also value the company with reference to the bidding war for Earthport, a rival firm. Mastercard and Visa both tabled offers and the latter is poised to succeed with a 37p-a-share offer that values Earthport at £247m.“Earthport lost £7m last year whereas FairFX made £7m,” Bernstein said. “But FairFX has a market value of just £151m.” Of this figure, £10.7m can be attributed to the firm’s net cash."

Earthport: MC = £247m. Lost £7m.

FFX: MC = £151m. Made £7m.

They had 19.02% in Oct 18 and sold down to 18.32% and now 17.57% so not new. Look to have been in from the start.

Well with their 17.5%, Crystal Ambers 21% and Blackrocks 5% that's around 43% of market cap accounted for!
