25/10/2010 10:36 | Thor Mining EL63/872, 1102 Survey Shows 5 More Gold Areas Thor Mining PLC (THR.LN), a resources company focused on gold and base metals projects and advancing tungsten-molybdenum projects in the Northern Territory of Australia, said Monday that full survey assay results from a calcrete sampling program on EL 63/872 and EL 63/1102 completed during the previous quarter show clusters of elevated gold values which identify five previously unknown areas of gold anomaly in addition to the target area identified by previous exploration. | sportsauto

23/10/2010 12:08 | ALO...Well we all got the news we were waiting for and it would seem the market liked it. I must admit I was surprised how quickly we spiked in those minutes after the announcement upto 7.5p, but would put that down to MM's not really knowing where to take this, coupled with the mass buying that followed. Reading the RNS again, I think that DC and his team have bagged us a great set of licences and its even more reassuring to see O'Connor International involved. With 2 more licences to come, probably next week, I think we still have a long way to go with this and see upto 5p still a nice entry point for any newbies looking into this over the weekend. As people have mentioned we are still only close to pre consolidation price. I can see us settling around 5/6p before more licence news and then possibly another 1/2p extra on top of that. The share is very illiquid with only 63m in free float and I would suspect there are now a lot of investors within the 63m who will be taking a longer term view on this now. Company changing news for ALO, happy to be on board and looking forward to lots more upside. No advice intended on this post, but do suggest going and looking at Mauritania and the companies exploring and producing there, as it will open your eyes and hopefully give you more confidence to invest here! | ps13

22/10/2010 11:18 | MVC. hitting the newswires now. Serbia's Jovan Gold Project will receive an additional $3.5 million investment for exploration expenditures Bloomberg - 22.10.2010 Reservoir Capital Corp.announced on Thursday that it has completed a Letter Agreement whereby Dublin-based Orogen Gold Limited can earn up to a 75% interest in the Company's Deli Jovan Gold Project by investing $3.5 million in exploration expenditures within 42 months. The 69 square kilometre Deli Jovan permit, located in northeast Serbia, covers an 8 kilometre trend of historic surface and underground gold workings that date back as far as Roman times. High-grade gold mineralization at Deli Jovan is hosted by mesothermal quartz veins (the "lodes") in sheared gabbros, probably of Palaeozoic age. The Company has identified three old underground workings: Rusman, Gindusa and Seliste, where mining was conducted down to the water table in the early part of the 20th Century. The Company has undertaken preliminary surface work over much of the mineralized trend and reopened, mapped and sampled the old exploration adits at Rusman and Gindusa. Chip sampling across the vein system in the Gindusa adits yielded an average 10.95 grams per tonne gold ("g/t Au") from 11 samples in the H5/6 stope area, as well as individual values as high as 209 g/t Au (see Reservoir news releases of October 9th, 2007 and April 8th, 2008 for details). Orogen plans to commence exploration work in the coming weeks with the initial objective of exposing the lodes on surface by trenching and, after dewatering and securing access, on underground levels in the old Rusman and Gindusa mines. The mineralised lodes will then be sampled systematically throughout the accessible extent of the workings. A subsequent program to estimate Mineral Resources by exploration drilling, supported by additional underground development, will be based on the results of the sampling program, as well as detailed geological mapping and structural analysis. KIBO A confidentiality agreement has been signed between Barrick and Kibo giving each access to the other's data, and this will be invaluable in assessing, among other things, the metallurgy of Itetemia's main Golden Horseshoe Reef. Discussions with Barrick are ongoing, although these are currently informal. Still, the potential for the sharing of facilities or even of Barrick taking an ownership interest in Itetemia is c Current Operations Itetemia Gold Key Facts Target: Gold Location: Shinyanga Region, Tanzania. 5 kilometres east of Barrick Gold's Bulyanhulu Gold Mine (~16 million ounce resource/~12 g/t ) Area: 9 contiguous licences covering an area of 53 square kilometres Kibo's Interest: Earning a 100% interest in 3 licences and 90% in 6 licences Main Prospect: Golden Horseshoe Reef Resource: 422,250 ounces gold (266,100 ounces Indicated, 156,150 ounces Inferred). Resource is JORC-compliant. Open-Pit Potential: A preliminary optimisation study by independent consultants CSA Global has shown open-pit mine development potential for the shallower part of the resource Next Steps: In-fill drilling to increase confidence in the open-pittable section of the resource is planned to commence in the second quarter 2010 A preliminary mine engineering study will be undertaken to more accurately establish likely capital expenditure and on-going operating costs for a stand-alone mine Generation of regional drill targets by re-processing of historic geophysical data Summary Itetemia, comprises nine contiguous prospecting licences covering 53 square kilometres is situated in the Kahama District of the Shinyanga Region in northern Tanzania. Access is by road from the town of Mwanza 125 kilometres to the northeast, or from the town of Kahama, 84 kilometres to the south. The main gold prospect on Itetemia is Golden Horseshoe Reef where Kibo has outlined a JORC –compliant gold resource of 4.23 million tonnes at 3.1 grams per tonne (422,250 ounces of gold). Golden Horseshoe Reef benefits by being located just 5 kilometres east of Barrick Gold Corporation's Bulyanhulu Gold Mine (16 million ounce gold resource) which has been operating since 2001. | gonefishing3

20/10/2010 08:54 | just updated my last post with a bit more: Plus traded (also XETRA/DAX) Ascot Mining. Market cap is now around £9 Million. Currently just completed a new processing plant on its 100% owned mine (Chassoul) in Costa Rica, now producing 12000oz of gold from this resource, plus its reported a further 13,000oz (tbc) from three of its other near by interests. The cost production of per oz is reported as $427. FYI just looking at the former resource, it consists of 2 explored veins 60-80,000 oz (more than 4 years worth at present rate) plus in addition there are a further 8 unexplored veins. The majority costs have been met by past equity raising, so theres is not large wedge of forward sold gold at lower spot prices from years past as with so many of these gold producers. So market cap of £9M versus to £19M worth of poured gold per year seems a very good prospect imo. Aside from these four major interests, there are also other irons in the fire and in addition theres an expected compensation payout from a past joint venture which could be worth several million. Ticker is ASMP, DYOR. | envirovision

19/10/2010 22:55 | seem to have wasted my time on the cr thread so reposting here: Heres one relevant for this thread then. Plus traded (also XETRA/DAX) Ascot Mining. 18/10/2010 08:26 | TODAY'S SUGGESTIONS (updated 9.25am 18/10/10): 1. Per press reports about to announce gold licences in Mauritania: Alecto Energy: ALO Applied for very attractive gold licences in Mauritania which look to have been grated per weekend press reports. Confirmation of this via rns should see the share price move materially. 2. Astonishingly undervalued Coal explorer and producer: Strategic Natural Resources: SNRP South African coal, current reserves of 150Mt could be up to 3 billion tonnes. Mininglicences and environmental approvals all in place and currently negotiuating offtake deals. Tiny cap for the assets and stunning potential. 3. Gold stock still to breakout: Ariana Resources: AAU This remains my number one focus. Simply has not had its breakout phase and with a JORC update due the rerating has to be close. Operates in Turkey although may wander to other nearby countries in due course. Resource update due (500k ounces soon), Gold Production JV in place, Mine Feasibility underway, Massively important JV with European Goldfields for exploration and £1mn cash. The perfvect uber gold explorer and has not had its gold breakout moment. Its got to be coming. ALL IMHO DYOR | fairdeal2008 |
