Russian steel producer Evraz Group SA (EVR.LN) may consider selling its two coal mines in Siberia to ArcelorMittal (MT), Evraz Chief Executive Officer Alexander Frolov said Wednesday.
ArcelorMittal has expressed an interest in the Yerunakovskaya-8 and Yubileinaya mines, and Evraz may consider selling the two if it is offered "a good price," Frolov said.
He described one of the mines as "a project," while the other is a "small mine with high costs." Evraz doesn't disclose production figures for individual mines.
Earlier Wednesday Evraz reported a net loss for 2009 of $1.25 billion compared with a net profit of $1.78 billion in 2008.
