09/4/2019 11:34 | I use X-O (Jarvis) for general low cost trading. No bells and whistles, just £5.95 per trade. Very rarely have problems getting quotes etc too. As you say, sometimes you don't want anything else, just a reliable low cost solution. It does the job. | the deacon
09/4/2019 11:26 | Penn I also use Barclays, I think you're find it was executed with in the same min. Just reported half an hour later if it was 1/2 hr it could be very expensive if the share price shot up in that time. | driver101

09/4/2019 10:41 | Palladium picking up a bit today. Will PGMs continue to rise or is this price level sufficient to provide the financial foundation to make this a billion dollar company?Ed - marketmakers never make a move without good cause but we cant always see it. Rest assured there is a reason for the 2.6% increase today.Book - I dont think you should worry too much about your bed and isa delay. There is probably a bit of wheeling and dealing going on behind the scenes. | charles clore
09/4/2019 09:59 | In part 2 of max's show he talks about palladium and other precious metals. Hes a bit of a crackpot but entertaining, and who knows, maybe he's right? | excellance
09/4/2019 09:47 | Agreed fellas, seems like they wanted to increase the ask without any real trading volume today. Perhaps some orders placed. Regards, Ed. | edgein

09/4/2019 08:58 | To cross the 0.6p threshold before news would be like igniting dynamite inside a pressure cooker. Light the blue touchpaper and stand well clear | charles clore

09/4/2019 08:18 | "excellance 8 Apr '19 - 16:03 - 19701 of 19710 0 0 0 South Africa v Russia Tricky" South Africa is a complete mess. White farms first then mines next, just like Zimbabwe. Avoid SA like the plague. Russia is a no-brainer in comparison to SA. Regards, Ed. | edgein

08/4/2019 17:59 | I think there is evidence of platinum use in Egyptian times, and also in south America the indigenous people's made jewellery out of pt, but with the demise of the ancient Egyptians and the conquistadors genocide of the "Indians" the knowledge was lost to humanity. The Europeans never knew of the existence of until only a couple of hundred years ago. Victorian era industrial revolution saw the rediscovery of platinum and later palladium and other PGMs. Technology to process and utilise PGMs has been developed ever since. Thermocouples in industrial furnaces are made out of platinum, as are dental implements, and of course catalysts...and wedding rings. So cc I was referring to the industrial age generally, not specifically new technology of the last year or two. | excellance
08/4/2019 17:30 | ex - not really so obvious to me. At the time there was a special higher temperature induction furnace to smelt the platinum but the cost was prohibitive to all but the biggest producers. From your previous post it appeared to say that you knew of a new technology that could overcome this. Sorry if I misconstrued. | charles clore
08/4/2019 17:12 | They must have or else platinum would still be just a useless waste material. | excellance
08/4/2019 16:32 | ex - you wrote earlier about the high melting point of platinum. I remember some years ago when I had some shares in Jubilee platinum they were concerned about smelters burning out due to high operating temperatures. Have they overcome this problem yet? By the way the chart is performing beautifully imho, just as I would expect. | charles clore |
