Bit of movement - Bid up to 2.9p - but now we have a new market maker undercutting RBS (still at 3p) by offering at 2.95p

Yes, although we don't know how many they intend to sell.

Is RBS unloading the stake held by ABM Amro, or whatever it was called?

Why are so many people talking about RBS.

Are there not other organisations who accepted many shares from ENRT at 2.5p and may be cashing in now?

Bluebelle,

There may well be trades being worked on that you don't see yet.

One for you and those interested, a post from Interactive:

"What are the thresholds?

A shareholders has an obligation to disclose their holdings in the above interests when their holdings amount to 3% or above of the total voting rights and capital in issue. Additional notifications also need to be made when their holdings reach breech or fall below every 1% above that.

When do I have to make the notification by?

UK Issuer:

Shareholders must make the disclosure as soon as possible but no later than two trading days after the date on which the person learnt or should have learnt about a change to their holdings. "

If you look back, holdings have been decreasing gradually for a while for one reason or another small amount of dilution and selling and have probably reduced a bit more recently. RBS won't want the share price to tank while they still hold so many. Would you? Last reported 19th July: 53,725,483.

What a good point to pick some up if you are going to. It would not surprise or upset me to see RBS' shareholding reduce slightly considering their support over time.

If its valued at £11 million with not much production if it can hold here waiting for good news we might just have a chance.

Volume markedly down today but even that would have been good enough for a price movement until recently !

Sorry I couldn't acknowledge before this that you would have won your bet. I upgraded my services with my broadband provider and they kindly cut me off for the day. Sevice has just come back up. I believe there has been a large off market sale, as we are currently under-repored on sales by at least 15 million shares over the last 10 days, and it looks like these are still being knocked out by the market. Easy to make a market when you have a ready supply of stock.

Again 3p is nice for now, especially compared to not so long ago.

Please tell

Don't leave us in suspense

Dont agree - RBS are offloading, and fulfilling buys - and there are hardly any sells. Thats why its rock solid (at the moment). Obviously if either PI's get bored and start selling; or RBS start focing the issue; or a big buyer comes in and RBS decide they have sold enough then that will change.

I really don't know why it seems such a mystery to everyone.

That's why I believe they're matched trades (and they are doing a very good job of maintaining an orderly market in the meantime). I know that 2m is not a fortune, but it's a significant level of turnover for this stock under normal circumstances. If it were not being managed I can't see why anyone bullish on the stock wouldn't hoover them up at 2.85 - which is what you can buy at - or anyone bearish wouldn't be dumping in anticipation of an inevitable fall ! The fact that bid and ask are rock steady - and everything is being shown as a buy - tells its own story IMHO.

So the 3.25p offers gone then ??
mr hangman

Yes level 2 identical to yesterday. When RBS decide they've sold enough, we will know because they will have to issue an RNS. Big question is, how many do they want to sell (and lets hope its not the lot they hold around 50 million!) and will they force the issue if the buyers dry up by dropping their current 3p offer price?

Looks like more of the same so far today : 1.6m+ changed hands by 9.00 and no move in either bid or ask !

mr hangman,

I generally try to deal when I think the price is about to move usually within the day and rarely at the start or end. This time it just happened to be at around 4:20pm. They were quoting 2.8p - 3.0p and trades had gone through at 3.0p minutes earlier. I dont think 3.0p will be on offer after 8:15am tomorrow. I don't know why they didn't move the quote, but if there is any buying at the off I believe it will go to 3.25p offer fairly quickly.

I also believe RBS is offloading stock and of course all depends on how aggressively they are doing this and how much of their previously reported 53 million holding they still want to sell.

Edit: A buy of 100,000 was reported at 16:35 so it seems even more strange that I couldn't deal at 3.0p as I wanted.

LOL, This really is the Tufty club, 1st rule of investing never deal when
the market has just opened or when it's about to close,
Mostyn about 815am tommorrow you will be able to buy as many as you want
at 3p or under

It does make sense really. RBS have been picking up shares all the way down so are probably selling a few into the market. Market makers won't have too many available so the price is stable as people are buying, allbeit on a wide spread. That is how the market maker makes money and the price remains stable.

...especially when you can sell at 2.85 ! Still think the obvious explanation is also the most likely !
