I'm in the process of moving all my investments to A J Bell following the Debacle of Barclays Smart Investor. I have a holding in ETO and was told that I need to complete a form NR301 as this is a Canadian stock. Does this sound right?

"‘Molly’s Game’ Launches eOne, Mark Gordon Film Partnership"

“The great thing about eOne is that because they are so strong in terms of their distribution operations, we are developing and making films that are anywhere from $5 million to $150 million,” Gordon told Variety.

"The goal is for Gordon’s group to produce anywhere from two to four films a year. The company thinks that “Narnia: The Silver Chair,” a revival of C.S. Lewis’ “Chronicles of Narnia” film series, will be its next project."

“We did the deal so we could have access to one of the best producing minds out there,” said Darren Throop, CEO of eOne. “We have a number of films in various stages of development. Over the next 12 to 24′ months you’re going to see a more consistent flow of projects.”

Looking pretty strong in a weak market, hopefully another attempt at 250 before the H1 update.

Apple now moving in to buy tv shows with a $1 billion budget.

"Apple plans to spend $1billion next year on original programming

Sources tell the Wall Street Journal that Apple has budgeted $1billion to spend on original programming next year
The tech company poached two executives from Sony, who have been meeting with Hollywood agents about potential shows they could acquire
With their budget, they have the funds to acquire about 10 TV shows
It's unclear if Apple is also interested in financing movies
It's also unknown whether the original content will stream on iTunes or a new video-focused service similar to Netflix, Hulu or Amazon Prime Video"

One to watch this weekend is the Atomic Blonde film, made by Sierra/Affinity which is part owned by eone. Cost $30m to make and projected to pull $20m in its opening weekend in the USA alone.

"Atomic Blonde, the $30 million-plus graphic novel film adaptation starring Charlize Theron as a kick-ass super spy, bows this weekend from Focus Features and Sierra/Affinity and is expected to bring in somewhere around $20M in its opening weekend."

"It got a boost at the beginning of last year when eOne made an equity investment into the company to help with its slate, which included Atomic Blonde."

According to Top 150 Global Licensors, worldwide retail sales (mainly peppa) are $1.3bn (May 2017 issue) compared to $1bn 2016. So yes, pigs can fly AND pj masks ramping up as well ...

Good spot 1gw.

Citigroup thinks "Pigs Can Fly" as it starts eOne with a 'buy' and 295p target price
The US bank sees scope for around 15%+ upgrades to eOne's full-year 2020 underlying earnings (EBITDA) estimates if divisional margin and retail targets are met.

Citigroup has started coverage on Entertainment One Ltd in a note entitled “Pigs Can Fly”, giving the Peppa Pig group’s shares a lift. The US bank has initiated on the FTSE 250-listed firm with a ‘buy’ rating and a price target of 295p. In mid morning trading, eOne shares were up 2.8%, or 6.2p at 227.3p. In the note to clients, Citigroup’s analysts said: “Competition for TV content is driving improving economics for the content owners. eOne’s relationship with major talent should drive up the desirability of the group’s content. They added: “Successful brands like Peppa Pig and PJ Masks are hugely cash generative.”

Scope for big EBITDA upgrades

The analysts said they see scope for around 15%+ upgrades to full-year 2020 underlying earnings (EBITDA) estimates if divisional margin and retail targets are met. They also added that as eOne's scale increases, its free cashflow should improve significantly. The analysts pointed out that with the stock trading at an estimated 10x 2018 price/earnings, it trades at a material discount to the broadcasters, while its sum-of-the-parts-based fair value implies the group’s Film division provides a free option.

While Mr Throop has not ruled out shifting the listing to the US or a reverse takeover of a listed US entity, it is unlikely such a move would happen soon. He noted that exchange traded funds that hold the shares would be forced to sell in the event of a UK delisting “which would have downward impact on our stock price”.
