"Horror Film 'The Ritual' Sells to Netflix for $4.75 Million (Exclusive)"

"A source pegged the deal at $4.75 million, which would make it one of the top deals of the Toronto"

"The film is produced by The Imaginarium and eOne, which fully financed The Ritual and will distribute the film in the U.K."

Budget on this one was $4.4 million so a small profit and eone keeps the UK distribution rights.

Re Dividends

"Dividends from Canadian stock is paid out to clients net of a 25% withholding tax. The W-8BEN form you have completed enables residents of the UK and certain other eligible countries to pay reduced rates of tax on income from US and Canadian shares. In this case it reduces the withholding tax to 15%."

CAN ANYONE CONFIRM THIS PLEASE ?

I have gone back in here. According to IC, in an article in May, the library was valued at £1.2 bil, excluding the many film launches in the last year or so which would boost that figure. Fwd PE of 11, takeover candidate and good looking chart has convinced me(for now)!

Looks like "Untitled eOne Family Project" will be the Sherlock Gnomes movie. Out around May 2018.
The first film Gnomeo & Juliet took $25m at the box office in the uk.

Full Frontal with Samantha Bee won an emmy last night, eone has worldwide rights outside US.

A quote from that ST article. "Entertainment One, which is chaired by former Asda boss Allan Leighton, also wants to sweeten bonus and pay terms for Throop and his key lieutenants. Last year, the Canadian’s salary jumped 65% to $823,000 (£605,000) from $500,000 in 2015. Under the latest deal, his basic pay is set to soar to $1.25m by 2019. Throop could also pocket bonuses up to five times salary. Since floating in London a decade ago, Entertainment One’s shares have risen by about 150%, valuing the Toronto-based producer and distributor at £1.1bn."

At £600K Throop is hardly excessively paid in relation to other CEO's of similar sized companies especially when you consider that he was the key entrepreneurial figure in building the business over the past 10 years. What is important, in my view, is that the proposed stock awards over the next two years are geared on a layered basis to the shareprice over either averaged periods or on specific dates so that his rewards are directly aligned with the interests of shareholders.

Nice big picture of Peppa on the front of the Sunday Times business section today. Article is about executive pay and a "golden handcuffs" deal for Darren Throop though. Headlined "Peppa boss rolling in it"

Wise words, rivaldo. I held for years, but haven't seen valid reasons to buy back in.
Strange - their big successes haven't produced the cashflow expected.
Turnover is vanity, profit is sanity, cashflow is reality.

PS I see their change from film distribution to finance/production as an added risk.

As previously announced Eone have changed the film division, moving away from distributing for others and towards production/financing. Eone's latest film 'Atomic Blonde' was financed by eone but distributed by others.

Nearly all AT's though aren't they? Looks like algorithmic / high frequency rather than individual investors taking a punt. I'm not sure the number/size is all that different from yesterday.

Yesterday there was a relatively enormous volume traded in the closing auction, at a premium to the previous spread. So let's see if there's big buying on the close again.

Hmmm......I wonder whether this has been tipped somewhere today. There has been a stream of small transactions - 795 so far - with an average volume of 450 shares and an average value of circa £1100.

Should be a good rival for the new iPhone - probably won't have much impact on the share price though!
