31/10/2013 00:50 | Very good research SM and you are going to be close. Unfortunately I did not quite build a large enough holding in OPM before the dam burst and would have liked to have been involved in the fundraising but it never happened so it has not quite made the cut. I actually have a 10th equal position but for various reasons one is on the way down and out and the other you have missed completely even though they were very popular at Mello. | davidosh
31/10/2013 00:39 | Ha - well I look forward to reading it when you've posted. For the record, I suspect it will look like: LOQ JDG ESR INL RBN TFW RGD You've lost NPE to a bid, and IDOX has gone nowhere. So the remaining three could be... UNG IDM 1PM Don't make me wait now - the anticipation is too much! LOL SM | strollingmolby
30/10/2013 23:36 | I reckon you could name eight as seven are still the same as last year from memory. We share two 'top tens' that are of course your top two and I hold all of your ten except for two oily ones ! I have hardly any oil plays these days and to be honest I never really understood the sector enough to be confident investing too much in there. I will try to post tonight as it is Halloween tomorrow ! | davidosh
30/10/2013 22:50 | I look forward to your Top Ten over the weekend, David. Suspect I could name more than half of them... | strollingmolby
30/10/2013 22:43 | Just to wake you all up again....I do not think Ensor has been listed in any top tens as yet but I will change that shortly...for those of you also with ESR in your top ten you may want to join in completing this ... The full story is here.. | davidosh
12/9/2013 14:42 | Buyers again today :)) Building trade on the up again according to reports. | battlebus2
04/9/2013 17:25 | You mean Eric of Blackpool Pleasure Beach :o) Good to know it wasn't just myself that made a loss in 2011. | bigbigdave
04/9/2013 17:11 | Anyone going to put forward a top CEO for nomination ? hxxp://www.quotedcom More the merrier. | davidosh
04/9/2013 13:03 | Very interesting , well done ERIC! | battlebus2
04/9/2013 12:42 | John Lee and 'Eric' are both known to be shareholders in Ensor and the company was a top performer as shown in the tables... hxxp://intel.harrima | davidosh
03/9/2013 21:39 | The Club has been going about 15 years I think and a complete cross section of the investing world but most were (and some still are!)in high level commerce and industry so they challenge things. I am the new kid on the block. The hidden benefit can be learning about two or three new companies and sector knowledge within the group. There are two or three guys who do superb administrative work behind the scenes too. They provide stop loss reports, data on shares we did not select against the ones we did and all kinds of competitions between the teams through the year...social and sporting such as tennis and golf days which is right up my street ! I think Share Clubs are good especially if some investors would be isolated otherwise and may not have others who remotely want to discuss investment issues. I suspect the large number of trades today means a few of the individual members must have picked up some shares too. | davidosh
03/9/2013 20:32 | Well done with that, i ran a club with eight members and convincing them was a task, heaven knows how you manage with four teams. All fantastic fun if your returns are a good as those you mention. | battlebus2
03/9/2013 19:42 | It is a very interesting Share Club and quite big by size and portfolio value. I have only put forward two companies for consideration during the year as the club is split into four teams and each team nominates one each month. The voting takes place after the presentations and thankfully I convinced our other sixteen members each time....I recommended OPM for purchase in February (up 165% so far) and IDM in May (up 115%) so I am hopefully on for a treble. | davidosh
03/9/2013 19:16 | No need to apologise davidosh, sounds a wise share club to me :)) | battlebus2
03/9/2013 15:49 | Apologies for waking things up here a bit but my Shares Club had a monthly meeting last night and we opted to buy Ensor which happened first thing this morning. I suspect a few individual members may have bought a few too. | davidosh
21/8/2013 14:26 | Ensor mentioned as a great family firm on AIM... | davidosh
21/8/2013 13:55 | Bit of related news www.edie.net/news/0/ | bigbigdave
20/8/2013 12:27 | Hi Dave That's one very large document. Thank you, Martin | shanklin
20/8/2013 12:18 | Hi Martin Think the Ensor Land is in a future phase of the development. The attached link has a site plan on page 28 which refers to 'future housing land' Regards, Dave | bigbigdave
20/8/2013 11:21 | BTW, anybody any thoughts on how much this land was worth and/or what it was previously valued at on the B/S? | shanklin |
