How is this windfall tax even legal at these oil levels? Oil levels are back to pr-covid. Investors 'invest' in a company with big risks in the hopes of making a profit after expending a lot of offort. We don't live in a communist state. North sea oil producers should join up and challenge the government in the courts and demand that they pay back all investments.

Nowhere near half! Most recent figures published for the 4 months up to 30 April:

Total UK 2023 - 39,969 Boepd (2022 - 44,451)

Total Malaysia 2023 - 7,756 Boepd (2022 - 5,910)

Most of the drop in UK Boepd was attributed to Kraken field natural decline, but may have been more to do with the faulty transformer issues subsequently requiring temporary shutdown for major repairs and maintenance. Of course, this remains to be seen in future updates.

What's a stupid way to think ?? PROFIT IS PROFIT. Every UK profit has to pay tax , after tax companies still making millions & billions. ENQ half of production is In Malaysia & there is no UK tax on that Malaysia profit revenues
