Interesting toon.
I would also venture that the mm's don't start bidding for that sort of quantity if there's the whiff of a placing in the air. They always know first - sometimes even before the BoD :-)

Its all games guys but Brimsley will be on soon giving us his 40 yrs expeience in O&G industry wonder if he is related to Frank?

Stewart I voted you down for that crass and hurtful remark Manc Tos-ers. :)

Jemjem just had someone asking if I'm looking to sell any shares not had that for awhile shows how short they are they need to try and square the books up before next week!

To back up toon's post about the mm games, it is possible to sell 1 million online, without having to go to the market.
They want your shares :-))

Well said Toon,

Off to Man utd v Brighton game nice hospitality day, would have enjoyed the Newcastle game as well !!

I have not sold a single share either, have 200k on trade but can cover these days, thankfully though for me I have over 700K fully paid for so I am here for the long haul, Indonesia update would be good and I liked that article by Tarz on China which mentions us by name.

Dempsey, well poor judgement with the wording of the RNS by Sagasco and not consisting reporting but no bad news just longer than anticipated wait. Dempsey could be a huge game changer and fund us going forward, too much negative views, be positive, its a new eme these days. Bloody hell it was 1.8p about February, glad I reinvested my pay-out from them, have some faith.

Toon,

I think it's also worth remembering, there are probably quite a few nervous people who bought in much lower down a year or so ago - unfortunately I'm not one of them - so some of those could be panic-selling now to protect their profits.

Standard fear and greed investor psychology.

Highly tempting to dip in as in general the drop is down to a loss of nerve of the traders.

Time for an interim RNS which states that 'the company knows of no reason for the recent sharp decline in the share price. Further news will be released as it becomes available. 'At least I hope that's the case!

Curry,
I'm in the first camp as well and although the handling of expectations around the first announcement was crass, the effect on SGC has been minimal. (.16 down to .14 roughly), whereas the effect on EME has been far more marked (22p down to 15p)

I suspect Tom has been bending a few ears since the first announcement.

Oilforex.
are you still holding EME,?
because as a holder I wouldn't want to prompt investors with such pessimistic points of view,as it could cause people to sell, and change my wealth to more loses.

Let others think it,don't print it,it may be true,it may not be,but I shall be poorer with such remarks said.

My topup came as a black?,why I wonder

The big question is why no further update!

Its either that they saw the damage in the first rns, and are not going to say anything else till they have a successful completion, which is taking longer than expected..

or, they have already tested some of the X targets, and its not what they hoped for.

Im in the first camp. I shall stick it out, even though the last 100k at 21p is looking a bit sick now

They're using a high pressure workover rig, preparing the site and hoping everything is successful to connect up once done. Hopefully they will get some gas flowing and poss even some revenues starting by year end.

So far so good. Everything proceeding as planned. 2-3 weeks to get the rig onsite looks about right, end of October to START testing the first reservoir looks about right.

It doesn't mean they will be producing November 1 either. I think I mentioned before that it's perfectly feasible they will not see first revenues from this til 2018.

It seems a lot on here are being caught up in the perpetual ramping (on both sides).

This is the oil and gas business. Things don't work to the letter. Projects and works progress takes time and is frequently outside of the operators hands.

The given is that if you think there is something down that hole, it ain't going anywhere.

------

Sorry to have to look back and repost this.

I'd agree somewhat with KevJames sentiment. However personally I also have some concerns about EME, particularly in light of potential developments on their other assets and plans for 2018.

An initial fast test of the first lower zone and now radio silence. Something does not ring true with me. Maybe there is a placing in the offing?

If any one wants a blueprint for how fast to market production from drilling can go then I suggest they go and check out the Pantheon (PANR) story. Slightly different scenario but their dreams of self funding also turned into delays and further placings.

Realistically there are probably only 10-15 working days left in 2017 with the holiday disruption going forward. With this backdrop there is a fast fading chance of this well being concluded this side of 2018.

As a finger in the air I'm going to guess if they get it flowing then first revenues from Dempsey around March.

Worst case scenario is that Dempsey leaves a hole in the pocket or perhaps it pays for itself from the lower zones. We can't assume they haven't gone over budget already. Cash will be needed for further US drills is a given.

Moving into 2018 the company should see movement in other areas, particularly China. They will need money to move these projects forward and of course, further funds to develop the US assets if they deem this worthwhile.

It's still a good story here with multiple opportunities over the next couple of years. Just not on the timescales that the rampers will have you believe.

Weekly Fib support at around 14p for a 68% retracement from the intraday high. If you believe in technicals then the pullback may be nearing completion.

All imho of course. Feel free to pull this apart as you see fit.

H,
Yes could well be but certainly no sell off as some are saying, everything is still on track and nothing has changed. Hopefully a blue day as people do not want to miss possible news over the weekend.

Herschel, Judi - I can only agree with you both. The current share price is absurd given we've not actually had any bad news; but what these companies ultimately disregard (or just don't care about) is the importance of sentiment on small cap and AIM listed stocks. The corollary to that is that sentiment will return in spades with the right news, so I guess it's sit it out and remain confident in the reasons for investing in the first place. But that does not make things feel any better right now.

586 buys v 351 sells and it looks like there is a 50k roll so 251 sells.

I take your point, but the SGC shareholders don't appear concerned by it (or maybe oblivious?)
It was another very quiet day for them on Friday.

Looks like a bit of a death spiral.

My fear now is that the well is being plugged and abandoned and those in the know are bailing?

The U.S holiday would provide perfect cover to delay news while selling?

Morning all,

So we have more buys than sells and we are down 6%. MMs looking for shares and stops in my opinion. There is no bad news out there at the moment so do not let the MMs have your shares..

News next week for sure, exciting times ahead.

That's the sort of figures I was guessing at when you made your post last night.
Relatively small beer given the prize, and I suspect Tom keeps the EME share of those amounts down the back of his sofa ;-))
