Nice results from RWA this morning - all bodes well for the recruitment market and EMR. - Good to see it moving up on sentiment this morning.

Robert Walters PLC, the UK recruitment firm, reported a 66 pct increase in first-half earnings and said it is well-placed to deliver record profits over the full year.

Pretax profit came in at 8.1 mln stg, up from 4.9 mln stg the year before.
Operating profit rose by 58 pct to 8 mln stg, from 5.1 mln stg the previous
year.

Chairman Timothy Barker said trading "remains strong" in the second half.
"We see good potential in the markets in which we operate and this leaves the group well positioned to deliver record operating profits for the full year," he added.

Well had confirmation that results due on 25th September so a little over 4 weeks away from today.

Thought i'd post a quick summary of their recent AGM statement since it hasnt been posted on here, which again highlights all inline - with the usual seasonality for H2 and again focus on Empresarias on its overseas operations and expansion - again picked up on by the Edison Note which notably in their view the building of its overseas businesses is not fully taken into account in the current share price.

AGM Statement

At the Annual General Meeting of Empresaria Group plc ("Empresaria" or the "Group") held at 12.30pm today, Empresaria provided the following update:

The Group has enjoyed a good first five months trading and the Board is confident about meeting investors' full year expectations. As in previous years, the Group is expected to generate the majority of its profits in the second half of the year due to the seasonality of a number of the Group's businesses and in line with industry trends.

The Group continues to focus on the development of its overseas operations to gain access to high growth international markets and to create a stable operating base to manage economic and market fluctuations in any one country. Through sector and geographic diversification the Group continues its progress in developing a broadly spread international specialist staffing company.

A bit more re the India opportunities...

UK recruitment major launches India operations; to target proposed SEZs
Virendra Pandit

Hints at recruitment in proposed SEZs
Ahmedabad , June 22

Empresaria Group Plc Ltd, a £ 54-million recruitment major of the UK, on Thursday set foot in India with its Ahmedabad-based arm hinting to target the proposed special economic zones (SEZs) which would need thousands of hands in the near future.

"Yes, we are discussing with major groups about recruitments in the proposed SEZs'', Mr Amit Somaiya, Chief Operating Officer, Interactive Manpower Solutions Private Ltd, Ahmedabad, told Business Line here.

He, however, declined to elaborate. The recruitment agencies' market in India is worth Rs 2,500 crore, he added.

The Mundra SEZ, being developed by the Adani Group, would need nearly 2-lakh people on a temporary basis.

The Reliance Group, which had enrolled nearly 80,000 people to set up the Jamnagar refinery in the last decade, is also expected to recruit three times more at the proposed SEZ and the second refinery.

These huge job opportunities, although of temporary nature, are being seen as a good business opportunity by the recruitment firms as well.

The company has also embarked upon recruitment process outsourcing, in which a foreign company outsources recruitment to another foreign company, he said.

Mr Somaiya said the concept of providing temporary staffing solutions began only two years ago and had caught up. Apart from providing this solution to client companies under the brand name "Vikalpa", the Indian firm will also provide permanent staffing solution under the brand name "Vikasa" and make available avenues for corporate training solutions under "Vidvatta". Besides, the company is going to set up 13 offices across India by December. The Empresaria's CEO, Mr Miles Hunt, inaugurated the first office of the Group here by informing that it was operating in eight countries through 29 recruitment companies, providing services in recruitment of temporary staffing, permanent staffing and human resource outsourcing functions.

The Group reported pre-tax profit of £ 2.23 million on sales of £ 54 million last year

Noticed an update in Edison's August Newsletter edition.

Can read the full article off their website.

Highlights the international aquistion strategy which should reflect more fully in 2006/2007 figures. Opportunities for expansion into new markets - notably India where it took a 25% stake in a staffing business, with the option to increase this to 67.5% in the future.

Reports that ths stock track record and chairmans experience of building overseas businesses is not currently reflected in the stocks rating.

Looking rather oversold at this level - forward PE of 11 based on the 7.2p EPS projection. Then PE under 9 based on the 07 estimates of 9p EPS.

Interims due in circa 4 weeks time.

Hi Tole
Says the chairman (who has an excellent track record of value creation within the industry) bought massively into the company in January. Recommends that we follow his lead!

Well,I must say it makes rather a refreshing change. Over the past few weeks there has been no volume at all, save for the odd trade on Friday. Everything emanating from the company over the past few months has been rather upbeat, and at this price this has to be considered a robust opportunity. But then, I would be inclined to that view that since I am long of this stock.

Why all the buys today? Has it been tipped?

The acquisition last week looks interesting and I gues that could have drawn a few in.
