I am accountant and I have a couple of small UK recruitment company clients. I have just completed both their 2015 year end accounts and both have had cracking years. In fact, one of them that recruits for the construction industry has doubled its turnover. This may or may not be relevant to EMR but thought it was worth a post FYI.

Nice statement.......encouraging and no doubt a catalyst for more investors.

I didn't expect to see so many buys yesterday tbh......I topped up twice in the morning and am long here, anticipating strong results in September.

I decided right or wrong to sell my holding here to fund other purchases, it's been a great run since 40p but suspect there's more to come for more patient investors. GLAH.

I've bought a few as I think the share price has clear momentum with Caledonia Investments clearing and the overhang being eliminated. It's the top stock on the QVM Stockopedia rank so thought I would go along with it. Fair value is probably £1 at the present time in my view.

If you look at broker forecasts in fact no further reduction in debt levels are forecast - it would be hard for a temporary staffing agency to grow and reduce debt given the payment structure - they pay workers weekly and get paid on possibly 60 days. I would say that about 10 x is a fair rating for this business as TV says earlier. using a sector PE comparison which includes some pure perm agencies is not relevant - That still makes it cheap to me and for once in this company I timed my 40p purchase about right - But remember this company has looked cheap for years so let's not get too carried away -

Imran, there's a ratios section on the right of the page. The sector averages are under the "Sec" column. Topvest, point taken, although the debt is decreasing quite rapidly. Having said that I'd be more than happy with a ten times earning figure at the mo!

Melf - out of interest where did you get the sector average P/E on Morningstar? I can't see any reference to sector wide PE's

This is not an average recruitment company though as it is built up of a rag bag of small businesses all over the world. Not sure it's worth more than 10 times earnings given the debt funded acquisition business model with loads of minority interests and a low dividend.

The sector average P/E is 16.66 according to Morningstar. So based on an eps of 9, applying the average to EMR gives a potential share price of 150p. Not unreasonable in due course methinks.
