Still hold a few of these from years back having fortunately sold a large chunk when it surged up to around 150p.
Have to confess I have been pleasantly surprised by some resilience in the business over the last 9 months. Shares are pretty much unloved so could be worth a top up and the company has been buying in stock.
Got to be a time when something happens to the ownership with the Chairman continuing to effectively control the company. At the end of the day I kind of wonder why the Company continues to be public, it’s not as though they ever seem to tap the market for equity. |
Hi all,
My mate Peter @Conkers3 and myself did a ‘Twin Petes Investing’ Podcast recently and part of our discussion includes EMR, which I hold myself, and the wider Recruitment sector. This is an unusual episode because for the first time we had a Special Guest on the show and the response has been hugely favourable (here’s a clue: he’s not the usual ‘Guru’ that all Podcasts have).
And as always we chatted about loads of other Stocks and Ideas for research and a fair bit of educational stuff with regards to Investing and Portfolio Management.
Anyway, if you use Youtube, Apple, Audioboom, Overcast or Spotify you can find it under the 'Conkers Corner' Channel (you want Podcast TPI 40) and you can find it on Soundcloud at the link below.
I hope you enjoy it and find it useful, we try to keep them light and they are totally unscripted, not like all the stuffy financial fodder you are probably more used to !!
Happy New Lockdown !! WD @wheeliedealer |
Hi Has everyone gone to sleep investing in this share? As the pandemic dissipates companies will start rehiring temps (firstly)& this company is well positioned. Recovery play? |
What a charming expression. |

Just listen to the video. Stronger Together?? I'll get my coat !! |
Oh dear ... will this company exist next year? |

Disappointing |
Agreed but at least she seems to be sorting the UK which has been a mess for years and no one wanted to sort before. I can see she is setting the platform at least |
Trading update good, and profits in line.
However, people will not like the £2m increase on net debt.
EMR throws off cash. They have to spend a period paying down debt before investors will get interested again |
looking crazy cheap just like a couple of the other small recruiters. woudlve thought someone could just come along and buy up the lot! save lots of cost and scale it all up a bit.. |
Danes, must be more to it than that ? Up from the mid 40s to almost 60p ?
And there is a fair bit of (small) volume, implying private client buying, which again implies it has been tipped somewhere ? |
Presume slightly delayed reaction to a bit of director buying |
Now then, what is going on here ? |
Dreadful trading update and hollow cliched operational update. So much for new dawn !! |
About time they looked at the back of office costs....surely these guys could be bought out and sorted out....not that it would be good for me. |
Debt is way too high at circa 18 - 20 million, unless the company sorts this out administration is possible. |
Disappointing, but surely in the price ? They will still make £9m....so on a pretax multiple of 2.5x !!!! How much lower can it go ? |
