10/9/2024 13:40 | SP Angel . Morning View . Empire Metals* (EEE LN) 7.4p, Mkt Cap £44m – Drilling to support metallurgical testwork in anatase weathered cap Empire Metals has started diamond drilling at its high-priority Thomas and Cosgrove prospects at the Pitfield titanium project. 1000m of diamond drilling will be completed next month. The core will be used both to gain an understanding of the geological structure of the weathered cap, and for metallurgical test work. The weathered cap contains a dominance of anatase, which Empire has identified as a high-purity, higher value feedstock potential. Five large diameter holes will be drilled at PQ size at each of the prospects to a depth of 100m downhole. Titanite is believed to increase at depth as sandstone transitions from weathered to fresh. Empire has hired a Senior Geologist, Tsog Batsaikhan, to support their Exploration Manager. Metallurgical testing will be accelerated as focus shifts to the anatase-rich ore. Previous core drilled has been submitted for crushing/grinding to begin mineral concentration testwork. Empire will conduct gravity separation testing over the coming weeks. Conclusion: Empire is exploring the potential for various mineral processing and hydrometallurgical options for processing both the anatase and titanite ore at Pitfield. There remains limitations in long-term supply of high-grade rutile-grade feedstock, and Empire’s management is looking to offer an alternative source of supply to the pigment industry. Today’s drilling programme will provide additional core for metallurgical testing, whilst also further boosting the team’s understanding of the geological structure of the two high-grade Tio2 zones. Pitfield remains a flowsheet story and Empire is taking the necessary steps to derisk the project and progress it towards a development story. *SP Angel acts as Nomad and Broker for Empire Metals | apotheki
10/9/2024 11:11 | I'm curious... IF SB is serious about taking it the whole way to production, and within that taking it all the way to final product, then his biggest customers would not be Rio, Glencore etc, but rather the consumers of their products The ones providing the final materials for construction/paints/ Anyway, I'm sure SB will keep us updated when appropriate... 10/9/2024 10:16 | Just helping Rio really. From pouring more funds into Sovereign Metals, who also have a large titanium discovery but in Malawi Africa. Sovereign metals shares trade on the Australian market and are down circa 8% today. | klosters65
10/9/2024 09:41 | Lol kloster and Geko... They REALLY REALLY need to sit down for lunch. Maybe we should organise a blind date?.... (Them thinking the other did the inviting? but will need to crowdsource for the bar-tab to avoid a FORD-Ferrrari type feud if they both expect the other to pay...) Interesting times ahead. I'd be tempted to ask someone to "press the fast-forward button until we get to the exciting bit!" But then again, I need the time to release funds elsewhere and do some topping up at these levels....... -would be rude not to. GL, GTA. | gta5
10/9/2024 09:33 | More likely as they continue proving this up, and today’s announcement is a significant step in accelerating that process, it will be Rio inviting SB! | geko5trade

10/9/2024 06:50 | Diamond Drilling to Commence at Pitfield: Focused on High-Purity Anatase Deposit Within Near Surface Weathered Zone Empire Metals Limited (LON: EEE), the AIM-quoted resource exploration and development company, is pleased to announce the commencement of the next major exploration campaign at the Thomas and Cosgrove prospects within the Pitfield Project in Western Australia ('Pitfield' or the 'Project'), with 1,000m of Diamond Core drilling planned to be completed in October. The focus of the drill campaign will be on providing a better geological understanding of the weathered cap zone, including thickness, grade and shape, as well as obtaining additional drill core samples for metallurgical test work. Highlights · The thickness and TiO2 grade of the near-surface, weathered sandstone-hosted, high-purity anatase deposit will have significant positive implications for the economics of the Project. · Core logging, analysis of geochemistry and mineralogical studies of drill core from previous drilling campaigns have provided a good understanding of the local weathering profile, and how weathering has affected TiO2 grade and ore/gangue mineralogy, all of which have been used in determining the location of the proposed new diamond core drillholes. · Geological modelling has already identified a "saprolite" cap of weathered sandstones hosting high-grade TiO2 mineralisation to a depth of 76m at the Thomas prospect. The planned diamond drilling will further map out the thickness, grade, shape and extent of this mineralised saprolite cap. · The diamond core recovered from this next round of drilling will also be used to provide additional substantial quantities of high-grade, high-purity anatase-rich ore to accelerate the mineral processing test work that recently commenced on the weathered cap samples (announced 4 September 2024). · Project development team expanded with the appointment of an experienced resource and exploration geologist, with degrees in Geology, Metallurgy and Computer Science, who will assist with the exploration drilling and help build both the geometallurgical and mineral resource estimate models. Shaun Bunn, Managing Director, said: "I am pleased to announce the commencement of the next round of diamond core drilling, which is concentrated within two centrally located, high-grade target areas, previously identified as the Thomas and Cosgrove prospects. Importantly, this drill campaign is focused on proving up the extent, grade and shape of the concentrated zone of high-purity anatase within the extensive weathered cap and providing further metallurgical samples which is of particular importance to our ongoing, project development plans. "Furthermore, I am delighted to announce that Mr Tsog Batsaikhan has joined the Company as our Senior Geologist, and he will initially be working alongside our Exploration Manager, Andrew Faragher, assisting with the supervision of the drill programme. Tsog is a highly experienced and talented geologist with over 15 years' experience across exploration, mining and resource geology. Importantly, Tsog has recently completed a master's degree in Metallurgy from the Western Australia School of Mines and his understanding of resource geology and geometallurgy will have a real and immediate impact on the Pitfield project given the current transition from the exploration phase into process flowsheet development." | apotheki

08/9/2024 19:42 | AGEOSToday 18:50Posts: 828Price: 7.25Continuation: Other features arising from the Coorow survey may be of significance to EEE in relation to the copper mineralisation along the western boundary of Pitfield so any further investigations by Enterprise in that respect will also be of interest. In short, whilst the Pitfield TiO2 Project unfolds and remains paramount, EEE strategy could still include exploitation of other resources within what is still a relatively unexplored mineral province. 08/9/2024 19:41 | AGEOSToday 18:44Posts: 828Price: 7.25This, being the first RNS relating to processing testwork, it outlines the industry-wide context within which the Pitfield titanium resource is being evaluated. As stated in the opening paragraph "The range of work programmes is extensive and the understanding being generated from the breadth of work is integral to the identification and optimisation of a preferred process flowsheet and the development of a final product specification for the Project." The limited initial testwork results mentioned, and the four-stage 'Process Flowsheet Development' initiatives as outlined in pages 3-6 of the RNS, are largely self explanatory. However, there are implications, less apparent and inherent in the program strategy which perhaps warrant comment. Most significant is the characterisation of two ore types, a titanite-rich ore from the sandstone bedrock and an anatase-rich ore from the weathered saprolite overburden. The none-designation of a third ore type corresponding to the transition zone as defined in the Aug 22nd RNS, implies either that this will be apportioned to one or other of the two ore types based on the relative abundance of anatase and titanite [both being present with lesser rutile], or it could be designated as a separate, third resource. In view of the high TiO2 content and 10m+/- thickness of this transition zone, that could include potential for an off-take agreement with a local processor. The mineral mix within the transition zone could be of interest to a mineral sand processor. Parallel assessment of the two ore types through processing to final product stage reflects the significantly different mineralogical characteristics of the two ores and the consequent differences in end product and in the range of industry applications to which they could potentially apply. EEE's point of sale end products should consequently be two different specifications of refined TiO2 in particulate form, customized as required. I have in a previous post mentioned one of the more specialised applications for which an anatase derived feedstock could be especially suited, namely that of nano-photocatalysis but there are many more, and an equally varied range of potential applications for a titanite derived feedstock. The company strategy will be to produce feedstocks with as wide a spectrum of potential industry applications as possible, as confirmed by the statement "The potential optionality to produce a range of different products, depending on market demand, will be investigated in the testwork programme." [ref page 6 Product Finishing]. To be continued | jelignite
