08/10/2015 12:05 | sorry LP so your saying we should process material that isn't ours for a toll fee, why not process more of our own material. | mds2028
08/10/2015 11:44 | It would appear aldermana posting the stocktube link has reignited this BB and our thoughts. I must say I found Alberto's recent presentation very informative, very bullish and it has reinstalled some positivity, although part of me can't help but feel we have had similar postive presentations and heard it all before. I had to smile when Alberto said he thought Emed was still viewed by the markets as an explorer rather than a producer ........... No sh#t Sherlock ! And what exactly have you or our PR company done to address that ! LP, before you tell me to sell, I am actually convinced we are sat on a huge asset with massive potential. I just hope we make the most of the opportunities that NOW come our way and start reporting the achievements and milestones we have reached, as since Alberto took the reigns of CEO he has shown us very little that justifies him having this position IMO. As an operations guy, we couldn't ask for more, and that is one of the reasons I haven't reduced my holding but have in fact increased over the past 12 months even though the communication from the company has been very poor IMO. I am of the opionion the communication has to improve and one day (hopefully soon) this will start to turn around. | bigbaddaz
08/10/2015 11:17 | Shortarm depends on the grade and recovery. Emed however do not produce Copper they produce Copper in Concentrate. 9.5 mtpa throughput will produce something like 45000 tons of Copper in 200000 tons of concentrate. Worth at todays price over £150m a year. Higher grades and higher Copper price and much better returns and profit will be expected. Even at todays low Copper price the profit is substantial. | lucky punter
08/10/2015 11:16 | MDS are you for real. Emed have a discovery that they cannot ever produce from without huge investment. Clearly Emed are not going to make a different huge investment in buying Aguas Teñidas. Clearly they do not need to buy Aguas Teñidas they just need a partner who owns Aguas Teñidas to allow access. Of course Trafigura have a 22% interest in this very valuable multi commodity discovery and they own 100% of the solution for processing it. So the huge value can stay in the ground and never be realised or for no investment Atalaya shareholders including Trafigura can have access to a return. Of course outside the deal Trafigura can make money after all they have built the plant so why should they not get a return. This is an absolute no brainer for shareholder of Atalaya and whilst Trafigura will do well out of Atalaya toll processing the ore at Aguas Teñidas Atalaya shareholders will also do well. Do not forget this is outside the current resource and outside of the 9.5 mtpa. In effect a standalone money maker. There is no reason to complicate it; it is simply a symbiotic arrangement. | lucky punter
08/10/2015 11:12 | At 7.5 and 9.5 per annum how much copper will be produced? | shortarm
08/10/2015 10:25 | yes Acamas that would be nice, lets see what news starts to flow after the consolidation hits the market. One would like to think the last thing the BOD wishes to see is the price dropping days and weeks after considlation because they have allowed small price drops to occur with the 30 - 1 factor. Of course the obvious solution should be the release of good news, lets see and hope so ! My gut is with their track record, they don't give a fig about the share price just opening the mine and we will see the share price drift and no value being delivered from the consolidation which could have waited until the middle of next year as preparation for moving into the FTSE350. For once a good point being made by LP about Aguas Teñidas, could be tricky with the already large holding Traf have, so for us to buy it in shares wouldn't be possible and for sure Traf want sell it to us at a good price. So maybe just a processing contract? Think we would be better of buying our own resources from local opportunities myself. But traf own 22% of the company and I suspect liberty are supporters of traf so not sure a Aguas Teñidas would be good for we PI's, but agree it could be the 'opportunity' that is being referred to. | mds2028
08/10/2015 09:59 | LLB that is exactly their approach. The biggest hint in the presentation was the reference to the high grade multi metal complex ore and the production facility at Aguas Teñidas owned by Trafigura 25 kms away currently successfully processing similar ore. It would take a completely new process facility for Emed to process this complex ore. That would involve $100's millions of investment. This is currently outside of the reserve figures stated. That is the symbiotic relationship with major shareholders. Remember all the nonsense posted about aggressive Trafigura going to steal Emed away from shareholders. What has happened is that Trafigura and others have funded this at a much higher cost than you or I are exposed to and they are still shareholders and they now are in a position to facilitate the processing of the most complex ore. It will happen in due course I am sure. I also like the reference to all the major shareholders interest in dividends. After some of the nonsense posted on this board about them just being interested in in a discounted off-take. Again confirmation that the off-takes are at spot and the same detail as they can get anywhere in the world. The biggest de-risk however is the fact that the 2300 tons of Copper sitting in 10000 tons of concentrate is within tolerance to avoid penalties at the smelter. | lucky punter
08/10/2015 09:50 | Like the logic MDS and would be nice if you are right. It would also make sense to bring out good news as we consolidate the shares, change name, look to the future and put the shenanigans of "EMED" behind us. Why bother releasing positive news at this late stage of being "EMED" with 3.5b shares in issue. I like the style - hardly surprising given the quality of the Board. I will become an England rugby fan if I'm wrong. Sorry boys. EDIT hadn't seen your post LLB when I was typing the above but obviously singing from the same hymn sheet. | husbod
08/10/2015 09:37 | I'm detecting a dose of optimism on the BB this morning, clearly this is not permitted..! If I were planning/orchestrati There's a lot to be said for understate/over deliver, and after years of HAA getting it the wrong way around, perhaps lessons have been learnt, I don't mind waiting a while longer.. | laurence llewelyn binliner
08/10/2015 09:07 | TThanks aklermana much appreciated. | spcecks
08/10/2015 07:49 | MDS, I think the word is "Expansion" | acamas
08/10/2015 07:45 | Shortarm thats why I am hear and unfortunately I'm not a teenager Acamas! Yes I picked up on those local opportunities and maybe this is a gentle reference to those rumours that that were touched on in that last RNS. My money would be on all those shares that in theory they don't actually need, but are about to be approved at the EGM. Once available to the BOD, will be used to pay for the purchase of these opportunities rather than using our cash (which at the moment we don't have enough to start making acquisitions with). This would be a nice way of drawing s potential seller in as they can still reap the rewards of their asset without the hassle and risk of bringing it on stream. This could also explain why AL isn't making much effort on resources since his positive announcements / indications in May. You don't need to go looking hard for more resource under your feet, when you know your close to picking up some known resource down the road in the coming months? However that's my optimism coming out and EMED has a track record of killing any opportunity of good news (other than opening a mine that is) | mds2028
08/10/2015 07:43 | Good to hear that C3 costs are close to $1.75 (based on current exchange rates) and that they should go down with scale. I don't think any time table for dividends mentioned but clear that's the objective of at least 2 of the main shareholders. Might we see one next year, even if it's token so they can show a growing divi policy going forward? Large buyer still around as can sell over 500k on-line even though few trades going through. Will they up their price to draw out some sellers? | waterloo01
08/10/2015 07:35 | At least jlp keeping me amused | paulie1
08/10/2015 07:30 | That makes me believe you are still a teenager but we can all live in hopes and dreams | acamas
08/10/2015 07:28 | I believe that one day EMED will pay for my retirement.Genuinely | shortarm
08/10/2015 07:02 | Good morning He also refers to the stable environment in Spain and the location which can be reached within a couple of hours from most of the major business centers in Europe. Try doing that for Africa and Latin America. Also he hints at the possibility of being able to take on other sites that have been mothballed by their present operators due to low copper price as a future opportunity that may fall into our lap. This share is looking to turn bullish soon imo PS He also explains why he is happy to have just 2 drilling rigs on site the resource is there and he expects to find it in time but currently he offers up that there is more than enough known resource to keep them busy for the time being | acamas
08/10/2015 06:52 | Also hints at new opportunities with a number of local resources that don't have the the right people/team nor cash to develop but where he obviously feels they have both. | waterloo01
08/10/2015 06:44 | cracking post Alderman and appreciating your contribution to the BB. I think we are all hoping that after the name change, C4 will start to earn there crust by presenting through RNS and other means the cracking news our BOD is presently sitting on. Is there anyone who thinks C4 did a good job since they have started receiving their retainer? terribly worded and unclear RNS's and new WEB site management A little disappointing with his reference to resources, he seemed very subdued about the potential, especially when you compare to what he was saying back in May! Feeling happy that my investment strategy of having this as a medium term dividend payer for me is still the right one. Presently convinced of the managements past years communication strategy has cost the shareholders through a very low share price when further capital was required. Now who would benefit from that kind of strategy??? Well the past is the past and our iii's where able to screw us through a totally unrepresentative share price on the rising of capital. Lets hope those dividends will be seen closer towards the beginning and not the end of 2017 | mds2028
08/10/2015 06:07 | BTW LP, I think it's quite indicative if not sad that the post of Aldermans giving the link to the presentation only received 4 tick ups, whilst my post of denouncing you as a fraud/liar received 14 tick ups, go figure that one! Looks like the jury have spoken Mr Barrister and your case was not strong enough, guilty as charged. | wanderer1210_0
07/10/2015 23:35 | MDS it takes three months to achieve normalisation so it will be three months until it is complete. Normalisation is as I have said several times already 3 months of at or above tag. They are producing at 5 mtpa throughput now and stockpiling onsite now; 3 months of that and normalisation of production can be considered as achieved. This investment is symbiotic; the aims and goals of the large shareholders are aligned with the aims and goals of the rabble of micro shareholders. The Investment strategy is not aimed at us and never will be it is aimed at the city. The initial trial is over the stockpile of concentrate is growing and according to Melissa trucking will resume in due course when commercial sales start. The management are not promoting the company hard because the Copper price is low and they are keeping their powder dry. The steer to shareholders should favour the long term dividend seeking investor not fair-weather gamblers. I like the understated over delivery we have seen so far and whilst it is frustrating to know the actual situation is a couple of months ahead of the reports it will be worth it in the long run. I am hoping the share price hangs on for another couple of weeks below 4p. | lucky punter
07/10/2015 22:33 | Aldermana, that is exactly what myself and others have been saying for months ............. And being told by a certain poster to sell up if we're not happy ! I strongly believe, and have for some time, that we are sat on a hidden gem with HUGE Potential for some serious gains. However, I am less confident and have less belief in our management (at this moment in time) that they want to share this information with the investing world. I hope, I really do hope, that Emed / Atalaya have a strategy to promote themselves and what we have and they are just waiting to get the timing right before starting a positive PR campaign........ A good time to start would be with the company name change to Atalya this month ! | bigbaddaz |
