hopefully the name will end with a plc

first or second week of jan. why does he put himself under such a stress test? also a test for his good reputation he gained in a short time. he might have received further news since christmas when he rns'd end of jan.

hopefully this article will not lead to another spike to 6.5 by middle of jan and back down again.

The post continues (won't post it all due to copywrite).

"Citing recent shelving of major copper projects around the world and their likely impact on the supply/demand balance, Lavendeira notes the company, now valued at £79 million, is assuming a $2.75c-a-lb copper price, for a 14% internal rate of return, before planned expansion in a second production phase. However, he stresses ‘we think the long-term price is $3.50c a lb,’ which would significantly boost returns'."

Also suggest name change from EMED.

Confidence from AL there.., altho' I would have left it as 'Jan' which has a little scope for slippage, which has been known..!

Alberto Lavendeira, new chief executive officer at copper hopeful EMED Mining (EMED), sounds confident the AIM-quoted company will receive permission ‘in the first or second week of January’ to restore copper production at the historic Rio Tinto mine in the Spanish province of Andalusia, after a series of corporate upheavals and the departure of most of the AIM-quoted company’s previous board.

Now backed to the tune of nearly 20% by the £82 billion Dutch commodity trading giant Trafigura Beheer, EMED hopes to start production in the middle of 2015 at an initial annual rate of more than an originally planned nine million tonnes of ore from the mine, whose current resource is put at 223 million tonnes with 0.5% copper and much of that accessible by open-pit mining, while Lavendeira suggests there should be plenty more.

Happy New Year all. I think markets will be volatile, but not sure that we will get a crash any time soon. I think that yields from equities are, and will remain for a while, the best place for the herd to make money. Maybe miners might see a revival this year.

How frightfully vulgar of you!! I'm in the hole to the tune of £40K too. Still, it's only money. :-)

CnP61, I share your view that the wave is about to run out of steam, looking at the Dow/SP/FTSE all pumped up to death on QE to infinity, it just can't continue.

The 7/8 years cycle is due for a big retrace, it started when the FTSE went 6900 IMO, we will see what 2015 brings for us soon enough.

The USA are broke - fact, Japan double broke, UK broke, most of Europe - broke, Italy triple broke, Greece is/was a basket case, E-union will again come under threat of break up soon.

The oil price is $57/bbl IMO being manipulated as part of the sanctions against Russia to damage their state income.

I'm buying physical gold from Jan, and keeping away from equities for a while.
Many opportunities in 2015 for sure, and on permitting we might even take a sniff at breakeven @ EMED.

i'm sorry to hear that. i hate it when people lose money and more. but after 2009 only a few people made a gain. it's time for a reshuffle.

well you don't need millions wanderer. i smelled the rat today and took a cfd 600k short on the dow and made 5k thank you very much. i think far to many things are going belly up at the moment and they can't keep on printing money forever pretending all is tikidibou. silly me, forgot to mention china in my list of possible scenarios with a gdp of 4% or less. when the scenarios come all together 16000 on the dow will be wishful thinking. cut the figure by halve imo

C&PA mere Pi will be lucky to sell 1 million unless you break the amount up over days. All not lost yet here, although I tend to agree about the global crisis about to hit. ( you'll get a Porsche pretty cheap when it does)

“…this investment will never be quite what some people hoped for…”

Late on December 31st, the understatement of the year is posted.

Yes wanderer, it was ORM that made me think, right now they've got all the permits and no money, we don't have either..! it's all about financing as you say, but will we rerate and find a new floor level share price to build on...?

LLB We may see a spike on permit news, but IMO it's the finance that will make or break us. If you look at ORM their share price spiked on MP and then retraced, it's all down to dilution and what cost IMO

..What is the BB's collective opinion on an share price rerating sustainability on MP/RP..?, there's nothing new to selling the news and I've lost count of how many times we've had a spike and a retrace to about where it was before.

But will this time be different..?, a rerating and find a new floor, or will it be sold into hard by many pi55ed off long term bulls @ the end of their tether and we end up back here again @ 5's.

By this time being different I mean the MP/RP are the keys to unlocking the project, whereas all the other milestones achieved were stepping stones to get us here.

Views..?

Happy New Year to all, I sincerely hope we get the news we have waited for so long for in Jan as RNS'd.. and the BOD delivers for us this time round.

Good post lango and the recent RNS from AL stating MP in Jan could well be the first step in creating the demand you mention. The company could have just kept quiet as they have previously.
