08/2/2018 12:07 | Having been away for a few days, I've got a lot of catching up to do. Fortunately I missed the 'everybody out' market scenario earlier this week or I would have been tempted to add to my ELCO pot which would have been rather foolish as that's overflowing already! I liked this conclusion to Mirandaj's Keepmoat link: [Looking to the future Asta Powerproject is helping Keepmoat Regeneration deliver projects on time across its planning and construction activities, but now Jonathan is starting to introduce it to other areas of the business too: “As well as new build construction, we also have a Refurbishment section for external wall insulation, re-rendering, re-roofing, and internal refurbishments like replacement bathrooms and kitchens. The software is used across that group. We also have a Maintenance group, based in Leeds, which is currently using MS Project. I’ve been up there a few times to start the process of introducing them to Asta Powerproject, because then everything will connect up smoothly.” Jonathan has been an advocate of Asta Powerproject for 25 years and chose it from a line-up of planning alternative software right from the start. When asked why he liked it then, and remains a user today, he said: “It’s the visual aspect of it – it’s easy on the eye, so if you want people to relate to the programme, it’s what you need. MS Project is just black and white lines, and you need a training course just to set up or understand a P6 plan. I prefer Asta Powerproject. You can easily put a client’s logo on it, so they feel more involved, and you can colour code areas and shade things. It’s just easier to look at and understand.” Summing up the business benefit of using Asta Powerproject at Keepmoat Regeneration, Jonathan concluded: “Like all projects, our objective is to finish on time and on budget. Asta Powerproject provides the platform from which to monitor progress and costs, while at the same time forecasting any potential delays that could affect the project completing on time.”] | ansc
01/2/2018 18:51 | A 50k buy at the full offer price (marked just after the market closed!), that's more like it. | ansc
31/1/2018 18:39 | I find today's trading prices completely baffling. Online quotes from my broker were 44/47p but, apart from one tiny (215 shares) trade @ 46.5p, there were five (totalling 76,837) @ 45.0p, one (50k) @ 45.4p and one (50k) @ 46.0p. Time I changed broker? | ansc
29/1/2018 18:39 | The sudden and unexpected departure of Jason Ruddle remains a mystery no longer, he's clearly been tempted elsewhere .....[January 29th, Copenhagen - GenieBelt, provider of project management software for construction, today announces a new strategic initiative to digitalise and transform the UK construction industry. To further expand business in the UK, Asta MD & Elecosoft COO, Jason Ruddle, will head up GenieBelt’s strategic UK operation as from April 2018.] It must have been an irresistible offer from what is virtually a startup company in the UK. Not only has he turned his back on a £112k salary (2016) but has also forfeited the chance of buying 200k shares @ 28.7p if the conditions of the October '16 options issue are met. A brave decision but then he has turned his back on ELCO once before. | ansc
23/1/2018 09:55 | amazing imho that in 2018 that companies are permitted to say "in line with mkt expectations" without giving any numbers !! whereas I think in the USA they would say "our turnover expectation was between xyz & ghf & we now refine that expectation to be within the last top 10% of that range" --- in any case well done to everyone at ELCO for increasing TO & profit etc etc | smithie6
23/1/2018 09:47 | 'Significantly higher' sounds very bullish wording, till you read that it was already the 'market expectations'. Happy to have a strong share price rise, though. | b1ggles
23/1/2018 08:34 | Rev's & PBT both significantly higher than last year and in line with market expectations. (So +15% & +43%). Moves in to Net Cash. "Successful integration of the ICON business". Look f'ward with confidence... Sounds good. I Hold | martinthebrave
22/1/2018 14:06 | No trading statement? Last year's was on 20th January, leads me to expect no fireworks in the yearend results in March/April announcement. | rathkum
04/1/2018 13:37 | weak share price recently....any views as to why ? just due to RNS about uk dir. leaving ?? | smithie6
22/12/2017 11:26 | Yes, rathkum, ELCO's young execs seem to want to seek their fortune elsewhere on a fairly regular basis. But then, why shouldn't they, it's no good getting to my age having too many regrets (sigh!). On a brighter note, we both know Johnathan H and he thoroughly deserves his promotion. On reflection, it makes you wonder whether the two changes are in any way connected ... the green-eyed monster? | ansc
22/12/2017 07:39 | We have another Elecosoft merry-go-round announcement. | rathkum

11/12/2017 17:13 | ansc - small world! I've had a small holding in ELCO since '05 which by some fortunate chance I topped up during the lows of 2013. Bought a few more recently as they seem good value especially for what is now a software firm. And discover I am sitting on quite a profit. Aah, the CAR crash! Yes, I wos there! Took the whole ride from 23p all the way to 500p and back again. When will I learn? cheers | illiswilgig

21/11/2017 14:07 | Welcome, illiswlgig, it's always good to see a new name on the bb. Luckily, my ELCO addiction (over 17 years) has so far been a profitable one which has offset my disastrous CAR one. So saying ..... | ansc
20/11/2017 18:52 | Strangely enough I fell victim to the same addiction today and just in advance of receiving the RNS as well. cheers | illiswilgig |
