The price fall is overdone. I have an alert in place to buy more when the northwards trend restarts. This has a forward PEG of 0.2 for a year's time. If they don't get all the increased sales predicted, it will still be a good buy at today's price plus a little (enough to trigger my buy alert).

Well I should have heeded my own advice perhaps- to sell and buy back but I didn't. Currency fluctuations are such an unpredictable quantity but underlying performance is good. I'm going to keep the faith with this one for now. A little more clarity on the performance of the recent acquisitions especially Selah would be helpful.

Looking in the 2013 results it was declared that with the Rouble at around 50/55 to the £ revenue from Russia was about 12% of the total declared (around £4million). With the Rouble now at well over 100 to the £ these revenues are going to be hit quite hard- more than was reported at the half way stage. I reckon about £2 million knocked off revenues.

From something that was said at 6month trading updates I think EKF are quite exposed to trade in Russia. If so the falling value of the rouble isn't going to improve the year end numbers

Interesting, the guy that ran Inverness Medical, which become Alere, and previously bought BBI International, the last Evans/Baines stockmarket vehicle

Well, Andrew, the price is flying a bit. And lots of trades which is good (I think). I wonder if anything is going on?

Despite a possible overhang of shares waiting to be sold, watch the price fly soon. Director buying + a great cutting edge business + impressive trading figures + equally impressive (realistic, IMHO) projections = big gains ahead.

I'm long, and will buy more when my buy alert is triggered again, which is coming soon.

Cisk- thank you so much for the summary- much appreciated. Still as I write this another huge chunk of shares traded and the price off another 5%. I still think the big issue for EFK is the number of shares held by acquirees in exchange for their businesses. These guys are going to want to get their cash out at some point, if they haven't already, so whenever the price looks to improve another tranche of chips will be cashed and the price will stay low. I suppose this is a share to stop checking to avoid daily disappointment but I wonder how long they need to build the dream of a "world class molecular diagnostics company" Some of us have been in a long time and are still waiting.

Total payment for selah (inc earnout) = $70m/£42m Total sales for Selha 2013 = $1m; placing price was 35p. I would imagine all this has damaged the reputation of the key players in this business. It cannot be how they saw EKF developing when they launched it. What would ALere pay for this now?

Someone is voting with their wallets, that's about 8.5m shares just sold!
Can see long term value here but glad I'm only a watcher at the moment.
(apart from a very small holding through a VCT).
Best regards

DLKU- a bit harsh I think. The business is making steady progress but it certainly isn't exciting. Exposure to exchange rate shifts is a worry and the only good thing to say about the Selah acquisition is the management aren't going to do anymore dodgy acquisitions in the immediate future until they prove in figures the value of the Selah buy. My view is that the main downward pressure on the price is those acquirees who have passed their lock in period and want cash instead of bits of ever diminishing paper. It'll be interesting to see what additional gems of information are offered at the investor briefing- I have to say I am glad I don't have to stand up and talk about the recent results. They had better keep the positive news flow coming during the second half or I can see 18 pence looming.

The management need to do something to stimulate positive comment in the penny tip sheets and main stream press to get this share moving again. My suspicion is they are not worried about the small investors like you and me but the bigger institutional investors and their briefings probably occur over a 5 course meal somewhere. There is an update presentation coming soon but, if last time is anything to go by, the detail does not get published. Updates twice a year and the occasional purchase by directors are not enough to keep the momentum behind this tiddler going- sadly. But at least we know that there bonus share options will not kick in until the price hits mid 40's again. The minute they (the directors) start awarding themselves share options at lower target values then I will ditch them like a stone.
