The only question is, does the braying jacka$$ whose posts precede this one have an insanity defence to charges under FSMA2000 and other legislation? Is he trying to set the foundation for one? Or is he simply crazy?

Next.

Was he crazy in order to "invest" in this pension scheme for some other folk, or was he merely mistaken, and went crazy later?

PREDICTION: Just like Spadeychops aka Darren S., he too will eventually be begging ADVFN to nuke all his past posts. Pointless, for the obvious reason - if anything, helpful to us.

Carry on.

Popcorn and barbs....

I previously speculated that the 'in development' fungicide could well be a Rice treatment. It may well be but it could also be the Poskitt Mugwort extract potato bio fungicide.

Wey,
It's interesting looking at the back and forth of the derogation over the last few years which is now pushing against the UN 2030 targets which I guess tipped the decision in favour of the ban rather than further exclusions.

I'm interested in how this political pressure may enhance or expedite the paper shuffling part of authorisation process for EDEN's insecticide and the Corteva seed treatment.

..."For two years the government gave sugar beet growers special permission to use neonicotinoids after crops across the country were decimated by jaundice disease spread by aphids in 2020.

A draft decree authorising neonicotinoids for a third consecutive year was submitted by the Agriculture Ministry earlier this month, with Fesneau telling producers he expected the exemption to be renewed until 2024."..

...."The government U-turn, growers say, comes after they had already purchased their seeds and finalised crop rotation plans six weeks ahead of the sowing season.

Despite promises of unspecified state compensation to offset losses for both farmers and sugar makers, industry leaders say the impact on the sector will be huge.

“We fear the crop will be abandoned altogether because the risk of planting untreated beet seeds is too high,” says Guillaume Gandon, vice president of the General Confederation of Beet Growers (CGB), the main union representing the industry.

“This in turn would unfortunately also lead to the closure of sugar factories.”"......

..."Because they're typically administered by coating the sugar beet seeds, neonicotinoids are distributed to all tissues of a growing plant."......

Still OK to use neocotinoids in the UK though:

"Much to the alarm of green groups, the UK government this week overruled the advice of an expert panel to grant emergency authorisation for their continued use in British sugar beets."

Mind the Gap.

“No bans without solutions” ..??

Neonicotinoids, beets and CJEU: why we deplore the implementation of bans for uses for which there are no alternatives available:

▶ On 23 January, following a ruling handed down on 19 January by the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU), the Minister of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty announced that no derogation allowing the temporary use of seeds treated with neonicotinoid substances would be granted in 2023.
This decision jeopardises the last emergency authorisation hoped for to protect sugar beet crops from jaundice, pending the availability of technical alternatives.
While sugar beet planting is due to begin in March, the consequences of the CJEU ruling reveal the technical impasse in which a growing number of agricultural products find themselves in France, a situation that destroys value in sectors and territories.

▶ Beyond sugar beet, 38% of uses are not provided with phytosanitary solutions and a quarter is covered by a single technical solution*.
So yes, Phyteis deplore the lack of derogation authorization for uses for which there are still no technical alternatives available in 2023, assigning a growing number of farmers to a situation of imposed technical impasse. The losses recorded by the sugar beet sector in 2020 are a vivid testimony to this.
This CJEU ruling illustrates the fragility of the derogation mechanism and the urgent need to provide concrete answers allowing farmers to have access to solutions to protect their crops when they have no other choice.

▶ To support farmers in a progressive and constructive evolution of practices, we are mobilizing around a roadmap for 2030 articulating our activities around 4 families of complementary technologies – digital agronomy, biotechnologies, bioprotection and phytopharmacy.

Are Corteva currently using neonicotinoids in their seed treatments for broad acre crops? Who knows, they might end up using Eden's Sustaine, encapsulating Eden's insecticide for their broad acre seed treatments by the end of this year.

Eden have Sustaine and they should have a pretty good idea what formula insecticide would be required to treat sugar beet seeds. Could they quickly get something together and apply for use under "exceptional circumstances"? “No bans without solutions” - I think Eden could produce a solution very quickly.

"Farmers in the French sugar beet sector have taken to the streets of Paris in their tractors to protest against a ban on pesticide use.

This follows a decision by the Court of Justice of the EU last month which stated that member states cannot grant derogations from bans on the marketing and use of seeds treated with plant protection products containing neonicotinoids."..........

....."The protesters are using the slogan “no bans without solutions”, in reference to the Court of Justice’s ruling, and farmers, tractors and vehicles can be seen carrying signs and banners with those words in French (“pas d’interdiction sans solutions”)".......

......" A provision does exist whereby member states can, in exceptional circumstances, authorise the placing on the market of plant protection products that are not explicitly approved."...........

Cedroz to SIN 2022

At the XIV National Congress of the Italian Society of Nematology (SIN), which took place at the University of Portici (NA) from 5 to 7 October 2022, Belchim Italia was present with a report on the technical/scientific acquisitions relating to Cedroz, a brand new nematicide organic registered on horticultural crops and strawberry. Inside the video, interesting testimonies of the research activities carried out on the product by professional technicians of the sector.

Does pesticide use in agriculture present a risk to the terrestrial biota?

Highlights

The riskiest pesticides for earthworms comprised acetamiprid, glyphosate and imidacloprid.

Acetamiprid, cypermethrin, emamectin benzoate, imidacloprid, and lambda-cyhalothrin were highly risky for bees.

Cypermethrin and imidacloprid exhibited the highest hazards to NTAs.

Imidacloprid, acetamiprid, cypermethrin, emamectin benzoate and lambda-cyhalothrin gave evidence of multi-level risks.

Hi Neuts, How do you short EDEN, or even cover your long exposure? I am currently unaware of how to do this and you have previously stated that you couldn't? To all new readers to this board; I would 100% read Ravs posts.... as for Neuts..... you should all make up your own mind.... he is either a protector of the wronged or a slighted individual who is OK with a bit of sharp practise but draws the line at ramping.I wouldn't invest in EDEN unless I was prepared to lose all my money.
