Annual Insecticide / development update...2019-2023

15 January 2019;
The opportunities in Eden's core crop protection business are growing well. In addition to the products that Eden has developed and is commercialising through its partners, there are a number of pipeline products which are in the process of being tested by potential partners including several candidate insecticide products which would represent our first entry into the insecticide segment. Whilst it is early in the development of these formulations, initial results have been encouraging.

Looking forward, we expect to be able to announce further marketing authorisations for both Mevalone and Cedroz as well as progress that is being made with existing and new partners in areas such as seed treatments, insecticides and other applications where the use of our active ingredients and Sustaineä encapsulation technology can bring important benefits to our commercial partners, growers, and ultimately consumers who benefit from sustainable agriculture."

11 February 2021
Development work continued largely as hoped during 2020, including on Eden's insecticide and seed treatment products. In addition, the Company continues to work with a number of parties to develop products that avoid polymer encapsulation using Eden's proprietary Sustaine® technology with third party active ingredients.

2nd March 2022
Development of Eden's seed treatment and insecticide products continues on track with good progress made in 2021 and the Corteva partnership has moved into the next stage of development triggering a milestone payment to Eden.


10 January 2023
Field trials in 2021 and 2022 have produced encouraging results for our insecticide candidates. The Company is pleased to be in position where it has now agreed on a final formulation, entered into testing agreements and sent trial-scale samples to multiple interested parties who are undertaking their own trial work.

Eden has started to see results from its potential partners come in and we are pleased to say that they are, thus far, in line with our own results.
The Company expects there to be a high level of interest for this product, particularly in the key markets of Europe and the US.

Neuts, there is no certainty of outcome here.....The share price might go to zero (although you haven't given a time frame) or EDEN can continue to develop and maybe be valued xyz.

Recent Changes in the Global Seed Industry and Digital Agriculture Industries.

The last four years in the global seed industry: continued concentration and the merger of giants in China
Between 2018 and 2022 the trend of global concentration and consolidation within agrochemical and seed companies has continued unhindered. The “Big Four” agrochemical firms, Bayer, BASF, Corteva and Sinochem, have all increased their power through tactical acquisitions and mergers. The megamerger of Sinochem and ChemChina in 2021 marked a notable change in the agri-food system—the combination of two giant firms owned by the government of China has led to the formation of the world’s largest chemical conglomerate and the third largest seed firm, operating under the name of a previously acquired Swiss giant, Syngenta (ETC 2022).

Malthusian justifications
One of the most notable conclusions to be drawn from the latest trends within agricultural input industries is the continued consolidation of power, and expectations from investors that these trends will not slow down in the near future. While the dominant agribusiness firms and proponents of digital agriculture assert that smart farming and industry consolidation will be needed to increase the amount of food needed to feed a growing world population, this is a smokescreen. Glenn Davis Stone, in The Agricultural Dilemma. How Not to Feed the World (2022), details how Malthusians have it exactly backwards—the real problem is overproduction due to massive government subsidies (particularly agricultural input industries), which leads to a “runaway train” of industrial agriculture, not population growth.

But supersonico's references to "lube" go back years and years, while I, not a Tom, only ever heard of EDEN a week (if that) before I first posted on this DB.

The lube is what you rampers are going to need when your randy cellmates feel an itch.
