Investing,
Another part of that I thought was interesting was the application timing which has often been focused at end of season which with a dry end season reducing the risk of Botrytis and therefore less need to apply fungicide. This suggests the best time is much earlier and preventative which potentially reduces the weighting of that variable on overall sales which to my mind could result in higher volume and a more robust indicator of year on year sales growth or fall and potential sales visibility.

'3Logy® is particularly advisable precisely in the flowering phase, as it is able to avoid the penetration of botrytis into the bunches in formation, weakening its infectious properties also for the subsequent phenological phases. This will therefore simplify the continuation of the defense strategies, also helping to counteract the phenomena of resistance that botrytis often manifests'.

I'm very surprised to see Eden not ticking up to a higher price. I remain very bullish on Eden, but I did think we might have gained a bit more momentum by now.

From Super

"Invisible infections are often the most subtle, as they are easily underestimated when making decisions. Then, when the pathogen manifests itself, the fight immediately becomes very hard, having to chase the infections as they arise.

This applies to all types of pathology, whether afflicting the animal kingdom or spreading to the vegetable kingdom."

Or surely, the human kingdom. I bet the Coronavirus has focused farmers minds too on more protective and sustainable farming from which we hope Eden will significantly benefit.

3Logy: naturally effective against botrytis.

Applied in the flowering phase of the vine, Sipcam Italia's solution blocks the pathogen's path before it spreads in the bunches, to the benefit of the final result of the defense programs. From 2020 also in organic.

Invisible infections are often the most subtle, as they are easily underestimated when making decisions. Then, when the pathogen manifests itself, the fight immediately becomes very hard, having to chase the infections as they arise.

This applies to all types of pathology, whether afflicting the animal kingdom or spreading to the vegetable kingdom. So the preventive approach is a golden rule also in phytotry, especially when the pathogen bears the name of Botrytis cinerea, the agent of the gray mold of the vine.

This pathogen can cause damage at any stage in which the vine appears susceptible, then erupting in all its virulence at the time of harvest. It is in this phase in fact that the pathology renders a large part of the bunches unusable for winemaking. Not checking it involves a legacy of unpleasant smells and tastes, as well as ochratoxins. All undesirable effects due to microorganisms to which botrytis has kept the door open in the vineyard.

It is in fact able to colonize the bunches even from the flowering stage. So to better counter it, it is necessary to treat already in this phenological phase using specific products. In fact, prevention.

Three terpenes that work out
It bears the name of 3Logy®, was launched by Sipcam Italia and stands out as regards the balance between effectiveness, selectivity and sustainability of phytosanitary practices. This innovative antibotritic is characterized by the refined Sustaine encapsulation technology, developed by Eden Research, thanks to which the three active substances (eugenol, geraniol, thymol) are contained within microcapsules of natural origin that release them constantly, balanced and quick.

3Logy® is particularly advisable precisely in the flowering phase, as it is able to avoid the penetration of botrytis into the bunches in formation, weakening its infectious properties also for the subsequent phenological phases. This will therefore simplify the continuation of the defense strategies, also helping to counteract the phenomena of resistance that botrytis often manifests.

Moreover, the product appears functional also to the most recent requests from the supply chains as regards the final residues in the grapes. In fact, 3Logy® has no residual limits and can be used in any phase delicate for grapes. 3Logy® can in fact be used up to four times during the season, reaching up to seven days from the harvest on table grapes and only three on wine grapes.

New entry in Bio
New for 2020, 3Logy has been included in phytosanitary defense programs also for those who follow biological control disciplines.
A valuable tool in a sector that as far as antibotritics could not be said to be rich in effective solutions.

The key takeaway and pointer to future announcements here is the UPL connection imo.. in a similar way that Lykele is a linkman for Bayer AWGATWT.

Remember the DowDuPont employees now at Corteva all have now been transported over night to a brave new sparkly world where they can throw down their Tuba's and Timpani's to the ground while marching forward into a clean euphoric sunset where all the birds and insects come magically back to life as if 50 years of knowingly poisoning the planet never happened.. .. Triangle in hand.

And they all lived happily ever after.

IF a producer ,right now ,changes to an unknown, but promised alternative when a lot of their traditional income has gone up in smoke, or cut in half they are indeed brave
or foolish. Most producers will stick with the same variables they KNOW, to try and weather this next year.

Crop protection from diseases is every bit as important as virus protection for humans. Thankfully, Eden is in the forward movement of new and sustainable crop protection.

The whole agricultural industry must be looking at this dreadful Coronavirus situation and hopefully, looking at better, more sustainable, (near) chemical free, preventative ways of avoiding like circumstances in food production and supply.

I would say the whole world as a result of this virus has seen the importance of food production and the whole supply chain that goes with it as exampled by panic buying here, fighting in the aisle's and the ridiculous queues to access a supermarket.

The platform this has presented for Eden is immeasurable, but significant in the least.

They say a vaccine for the Coronovairus could take up to 18 months and then it has to be produced in quantity and administered.

We're told it takes 10 years for a new pesticide to be R & D'd, approved and produced.

On a timeline basis there really is no comparison. The urgency to deliver new (near) chemical free treatments to protect food production is here, right now. Companies won't be able to wait 10 years to deliver new product. Companies will no longer want to spend $300 million to create new product.

Speed to market will be the new requirement and food distributors, supermarkets and consumers will demand it. No one will tolerate being exposed to risk in food supply and we know that pesticide is now a dirty word with regulators.

You would imagine that Eden only has to prove itself in one or two more markets, insecticide's being one as advised and maybe one other and also demonstrate commercially that Sustaine has multiple product delivery application and Eden will be very high on the watch lists of the major agriculutural companies as a potential bid target.

Mevalone.....tick
Cedroz.......tick
Corteva and seeds.....Hopefully soon, a tick
Insecticide.......Hopefully soon, a tick
Sustaine as a delivery mechanism across mutilple products as well as an amalgam of AI's......Hopefully soon, from Sipcam and others, a tick

Super, only thing that worries me about the shift to organic is the resultant tilling that has to be done, to rid the weeds. Tilling erodes soil and releases carbon. Is this issue now being dealt with? There must be alternatives being actively explored. Can you point me to some?

Are glyphosate and COVID-19 connected? Glyphosate, one of the most toxic chemicals in the world, may be the key to why some people get severely ill from COVID-19. An MIT senior research scientist reports:

Why China is emerging as a leader in sustainable and organic agriculture

But sustainable agriculture practices and organic food production are on the upswing in China. The total area of certified organic agriculture cultivation increased more than five-fold between 2005 and 2018, to 3.1 million hectares, according to a 2019 government report. China ranked third in certified organic area in 2017, after Australia and Argentina. Total organic sales in China ranked fourth globally, after the United States, Germany and France. Uncertified organic production is also widespread.

This shift is seeding a transformation towards a more sustainable food system within China—and around the world, given the US$65 billion of agri-food commodities exported from China each year. This transformation provides lessons for the rest of world, in terms of efforts at both ends of the food supply chain to shift away from chemical-intensive agriculture towards a healthier system for people and the planet.

All the more relevant as I contend that the EDEN parallel delays are tweaks that improve evolve and refine the original IP formulations. One aspect being improved is payload release profiles as demanded by specific industry wide commercial application criteria.

….Which is why we have Short Order Lykele...still working for Bayer imo which also may explain why he does not partake in the placings imo.

AttyG,
I don't have the name atm but I do have a good idea that Bayer and the whole conventional pesticide industry desperately needs a decent slow release biodegradable payload molecule so they can keep playing with a straight face that twinkly euphoric music over their ..red pill blue pill.. feed the planet PR videos.

Revealed: Monsanto predicted crop system would damage US farms

But in private meetings dating back to 2009, records show agricultural experts warned that the plan to develop a dicamba-tolerant system could have catastrophic consequences. The experts told Monsanto that farmers were likely to spray old volatile versions of dicamba on the new dicamba-tolerant crops and even new versions were still likely to be volatile enough to move away from the special cotton and soybean fields on to crops growing on other farms.
