Investingisatrickygame 14 Jun '19 - 17:53 - 6434 of 6434 0 0 0 Brucie5, You're too forgiving. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Investing, maybe so. But at least I give myself a time frame in which to be proven right, or otherwise. You know more than most what we are expecting over the next six months. If we don't see it, I will simply cut my losses/opportunity costs and move on.

Brucie5, You're too forgiving. We get interims and full-year. Two updates a year. Breadcrumbs and doesn't instil confidence to invest.

A perky share price is very forgiving; whereas the opposite naturally creates all sorts of questions. I suspect that any promotion of the value of this company would only see the share price rise to fall, as has happened in the past. This is AIM and increasingly investors see this section of market as full of ultra high risk lifestyle shares. On this reading, and given that the considerable derisking that has already taken place (including a strategic investor in Sipcam, and two products launched), the market needs to see sales, which, unfortunately, there is no way for the bod to fast-track. My personal approach, also shared by others, is to research as much as possible to make my own valuation, risk adjusted. Because until we get new data, the rest is pretty much just noise. Aimho.

Ah but investing you are forgetting that jam tomorrow is all the info we need to sustain us for years... the occasional rns just means there is someone there with the lights on ... however this key hire I think is good news but it's all down to us to try and guess what the hell is going on behind the scenes and join the dots, smacks of massive arrogance and that the management consider PIs an encumbrance and a nuisance... even if things come good with the share price the track record does not bode well for becoming a good, well informed bunch of private investors from the management ... more cloak and dagger unless we get some proper communication people onboard otherwise we will never fulfil our potential as a company (I say company even though we are treated as we are on the outside)

The problem that evolves when a listed company goes quiet or AWOL is that the BB's become the image of the company to potential private investors. Why? Well they go searching for information and understanding and here is where they find it. So if the BB's are negative on a company, there is every likelihood that PI's will pass us by and go elsewhere. Eden hasn't fought for investors £'s and seems happy not to do so. They are very misaligned with PI's in my opinion.

Yes it's painful. Never encouraging to be invested in a share where there are more bb posts than actual trades. Confirmation bias anyone?! Apologies to the regular posters here..no offence intended, it's just very frustrating..

If you look at Eden's twitter account there are just 650 followers and I believe they use it for the industry more so than you and me. There is, as we see, a distinct lack of excitement around Eden and its possibilities from the investment community. Contrast this with Hurricane Energy. Another AIM stock, this time in the oil industry and they have 2,638 twitter followers. Hurricane targets its investors, Eden doesn't. The oil industry is full of a negative future and crop protection is not. Alternative energies not derived from fossil fuels are here to compete and replace. Eden is here to blend (via Sustaine) and to also deliver bioactives. Now look at Hurricane's share price over 3 years versus Eden's. Eden is in a regulatory market. Hurricane is in a regulatory market. Eden does not have to raise large amounts of capital to proceed. Hurricane has to raise significant amounts of capital to proceed. Hurricane is in an out of favour market, Eden is not. Eden has 'game changing' tech, Hurricane does not. Which one would you rather invest in? So why do we languish at 10p!!!!!!! Eden needs to change its approach to shareholders, the share price and the value it delivers now as there are no excuses not to.

If these tweets reach the target do they say Eden’ s Mevalone is being used in that vineyard or are they just instructional updates on the weather or Botrytis? Can some one elucidate me on what I’ve just read?

All, I found this piece of news very exciting. Posted with thanks to Miranda on the Michael Walters site. https://twitter.com/EdenResearch/ So, it's easier to picture the size of the vineyard being treated, 150 hectares is 1.5 square kilometres. Regards

The name Eden comes from the Hebrew origin. In Hebrew The meaning of the name Eden is: Delight. Really? Tell that to 2,000 shareholders.

Brucie...Sustaine is a platform delivery technology (with a number of attributes), so it will have different applications e.g. foliar and fruit, soil (as in the case for Cedroz) and hopefully seeds, but all are likely to have different rights of use/licenses. Assuming it works on seeds (I think there is a strong chance it will), if a large player wanted to secure an exclusive global license for Sustain in seed treatment, then this is likely to be worth many multiples of millions, plus royalties! It's not out of the realms of possibility that Sustaine could be a catalyst to a bid, if certain interested parties cannot get access. However, I would like to think that the right deal (or combination of) could put us in a much better place in share price terms than a bid could achieve at this stage.....cue the new hire?

Ok, tell me more about seed treatment. Is this not part and parcel of what wer are waiting for in Sustaine?

Brucie...The partners are indeed key to driving sales, but then so is authorisation and label extensions, and in this regard Eastman do stand out as being particularly focused! Sipcam (and others) have exclusivity over Mevalone in certain countries and I have assumed that that will include any label extensions, but Eden could secure and distribute beyond the countries with exclusivity agreements. Clearly, Eastman have a much wider exclusivity agreement in terms of the number of countries. There is also the product pipeline, including seed treatment (which I think could be a very large opportunity) and of course Sustaine, which leaves a lot more to play for, so (apparently) the new hire has plenty to do and a number of options to accelerate growth.

"The ambitious growth plan will of course have to be suitably financed, by either an increase in sales, which we are expecting (and you would not start hiring at that level if the prospects/expectations were not good, including product authorisations/label extensions), or via new fund raising/strategic investment, but in my view it would most likely be a combination of all of those elements." ---------------------------- Thanks, Wan. I'm unclear as to how much of this 'sales acceleration' is down to EDEN, and how much to their partners. Am I right in thinking that Sipcam/Sumi et al have rights to label extensions on Mevalone, or is that a separate negotiation? I would have thought they were in far stronger positions to push this, than two or three guys in an EDEN office. Cedroz via Eastman is a case in point. They have certainly not wasted any time. My feeling - correct me if I'm wrong- is that partners will be the real, self-interested drivers for sales in the products they have licensed?

Brucie...For starters, Eden had flagged it and you know I expected it terms of accelerating growth. There are several aspects to consider, the first is his connections/reputation and how that might positively influence other hiring, and indeed new (to Eden) business relationships. One assumes that both of those will come into play. It's what Sean states as the main rationale in terms of delivering on Eden's ambitious growth plans that provides the key. I don't believe that this is a sign that the starting gun for the growth plan had just been fired, but a sign the growth plan is well underway and importantly now being accelerated. The ambitious growth plan will of course have to be suitably financed, by either an increase in sales, which we are expecting (and you would not start hiring at that level if the prospects/expectations were not good, including product authorisations/label extensions), or via new fund raising/strategic investment, but in my view it would most likely be a combination of all of those elements. I don't think this is just about Sustaine, but given his experience and understanding of the entire process of introducing and commercialising new technology, he is indeed a 'key' hire, and he will no doubt be influential in terms of realising the potential attained from the on-going and increased interest in Sustaine (as well as demonstrating critical in-house knowledge and ability!). In short, I see the appointment as a very encouraging and positive sign.

Wan, I wonder what you make of today's appointment, given your speculations. Is it premature to start joining some dots between this and the seemingly endless trialling of Sustaine by Sipcam and others?

I'm guessing much of the services Eden currently outsource will be too expensive and uncommercial to bring in house. With much of the heavy lifting done by 3rd parties I'm intrigued to learn what sort of IP++ business model they are developing. hTTps://fruitgrowersnews.com/news/botrytis-on-the-rise-in-grapes-in-san-joaquin-valley-california/

I think the share price might move a bit end of September. But for all those who’ve been in at a long time they’ve still got to look 18 months to 2yrs for any big rise . It depends what is being said in their office. It is not going places quickly and his appointment would have been better in Nov/ Dec even January last. They are really slow off the mark if they are talking about future staff and properly developing a chemical company and all that would entail.
