The only thing that really matters to you and me after all this time and the narrative delivered is the share price.

One question for the BoD and everyone here. Do we really think Eden is fair value today at circa £22 million. If not, why not and what should it be?

And assuming a higher value, what is Eden and their advisers going to do about it?

Super,

I'm not so concerned about the +3% NewYorkers as I don't see it as a major issue. Isn't it a nominee account?

The primary issue is the illiquidity in the shares and the current market cap via-a vis the narrative. The two are so far apart that it warrants

A) greater explanation for the differential OR
B) a changing of the narrative to better fall in line with current market cap value OR
C) a greater effort and a better understanding of how to deliver value into the share price pre-profit and substantial income (many successful tech led companies of one form or another execute and achieve this)OR
D) in association with C) a detailed breakdown of value by vertical in a PI available research paper so that PI's can really get to grip with Eden and value with confidence

Clearly, there is a lack of confidence and awareness as to why an investment in Eden Research is worthwhile at 10.5p. That confidence and explanation has to be delivered to carry the share price upwards. In my opinion, even if Eden delivers a profit this year, in isolation, this will not drive share price growth to where a number of us think it should be.

There are plenty of cars that do 50mpg and keep more money in our pockets than those that do 35mpg, but we don't always buy the former, do we! Eden has to appeal to free and available money on a number of fronts and a 3 year historic view of the share price in association with key progressive RNS's clearly shows that Eden is failing to achieve that.

In my opinion, NDA's, small corporate losses (relatively speaking) and the Chairman absent of shares are not the reasons for the share price sitting as this woeful level.

Super,

The whole NDA story is becoming an encyclopedia don't you think?

If they're not careful it will be their nail in the coffin. Sitting behind the NDA narrative doesn't sit comfortably from an investment perspective when the NDA explanation is delivered year after year after year.

I don't believe that Eden's 'partners' can NDA them for this long or that Eden would reasonably submit to the same. Even so, each partners NDA would expire at different times allowing Eden to unfold the story, save a renewal of the NDA.

To me, you can't expect to be a Plc, promoted through the IPO, who goes for placing funds, draw bonuses based on commercial success and then say to your fellow company owners that we can't tell you anything, it's not our fault, but we're confined everywhere by NDA.

That is not a proposition to attract new money and a higher share price. It is not a proposition to attract institutions. It's not an investment proposition save those locked in through price and illiquidity.

Super,

The trends are strong, as is the lobbying, but the specifics from Eden are slow to resonate with practically anyone. I'm not sure if this is a criticism or not, but it is a fact as measured by the share price, the only true yardstick of Plc success.

The recent Shore Cap report is disappointing in the respect that it was 'due an update' as the Eden numbers were two years old, but again, why has it only been distributed to an audience that is not listening City side. Does this mean another two years until a City side report is delivered and where will the traction and upward mobility come from for the share price to be much higher and therefore qualify as a suitable investment for that audience.

It was at the 2017 AGM that Edison was brought up as a source of report writing for visibility to private investors. Of course, it doesn't have to be Edison, any suitable party where we can read this information. I believe Michael Walters made similar comments during this last month or so. However, we don't appear to be any closer in providing such a research paper for you and I to read and for PI's to make an investment decision. This, given Eden's 'commercial success' is very disappointing and I know that loyal, large private investors feel the same way.

Three years of a near static share price based on yoy comparison is totally unsatisfactory for any quoted company.

I am really struggling to understand and accept that Eden remains illiquid and unattractive as an investment to many when Eden via Sipcam now has a global footprint, has another partner in Eastman who will deliver likely significant income through 30 countries, has innovative, multi-purpose tech which has been described as gamechanging and who has attracted a high level ex Bayer employee specific to our field of engagement and participation.

For me, the depth and detail of the report from Shore Capital does not resonate with their price targets. When you are a small cap/high growth company attacking global markets, with innovative tech and in our case, focusing on the agricultural sector which literally feeds us and can keep us healthy, makes no sense whatsoever to me.

What I truly don't understand is why Eden and their partners are seemingly not challenging the share price disconnect, which they are not in any meaningful, visible way.

How long can the narrative continue without the value to support it?!

I hope that shareholders will vigorously pursue this and be allowed to do so until they have satisfactory answers at the forthcoming AGM.

Netherlands launches new agriculture compatible with biodiversity

This article is part of the special edition Bioeconomy in the post-2020 CAP.

The Dutch government has adopted a new agriculture strategy, which focuses primarily on the protection of natural resources and the reduction of the ecological impact.

The "vision of plant protection for 2030", which has just been adopted by The Hague, is based on two principles: an innovative plant breeding and precision farming, digital. Two topics very much discussed at the moment at the European level.
"Pesticides are important to ensure sufficient and quality production. However, our current dependence on these substances has become such that a radical change is needed, especially to reduce their environmental impact, "says Dutch Minister for Agriculture Carola Schouten.

For her, the new strategy is a real "paradigm shift". It relies on stronger plants and new cultivation methods to reduce the need for pesticides. "And where pesticides are still needed, they must be used in an 'intelligent' way to limit environmental emissions and ensure crop production that is low in residues. "

The project aims to "protect nature and biodiversity, healthy species and clear economic prospects for farmers".

Cultivate "natural enemies"
To reduce pesticide dependence, the plan focuses on the natural defenses of plants. The government is counting on breeding to make plants more resistant to diseases and pests.

"Healthy soil, which provides enough nutrients to plants, also contributes to resilience. Where possible, farmers should use natural enemies as much as possible, actively using them, such as in greenhouses, or by reinforcing natural resources available in the immediate vicinity (according to the principles of functional agrobiodiversity). " says the Ministry of Agriculture in a statement.
Plant characteristics such as drought tolerance or pest resistance can be enhanced through new plant breeding techniques (NTSP), intraspecies genetic engineering methods.
The NTSP debate has been raging in Brussels since the EU Court of Justice (CJEU) ruled in July 2018 that organisms obtained through mutagenesis must be labeled as genetically modified organisms. They fall under the scope of the GMO directive

The agri-food industry, however, refutes this classification. Their argument is that these techniques do not mix different DNAs, and therefore that their finished product could have been obtained through conventional techniques, which mimic natural processes. This type of genetic engineering would be simply a shortcut.
Vytenis Andriukaitis, the health commissioner, said that these new techniques should be the subject of new regulations adapted to differentiate them from conventional GMOs.

Critics argue that this new terminology is simply an attempt to bring GMOs into European farms through the back door. Plants derived from these techniques are generally sterile, and the farmers who buy them are therefore obliged to buy them every year, and can no longer use their own seeds.

Precision farming
The Dutch strategy also foresees the introduction of digital agriculture practices, in order to limit the use of pesticides, from an ecological point of view. These techniques make it possible to closely monitor soils and crops and thus alert quickly if there is a risk.

"Pesticides can therefore be used in a targeted way. When they are needed, low risk substances are preferred. It will also develop techniques to reduce their diffusion in the environment, "continues the government.

According to the new post-2020 CAP implementation model, Member States are free to adjust their agricultural programs to their local needs. In September 2018, Agriculture Commissioner Phil Hogan emphasized that it would therefore be up to capitals to accelerate the introduction of novelties into their agricultural sectors.

"The digital agriculture budget will depend on the specific needs and budget sections of the global envelope that states will receive for the CAP," he added. "The experience of the current CAP, applied to 28 countries with different climates, production methods and traditions, shows that Brussels can no longer determine what needs to be done in each Member State. "

When a socio-economic system institutionalizes the extralegal privileges of wealth and power, that is moral decay. When government only responds in ways that first serve the interests of entrenched insiders, that is moral decay. When the financial system is rigged to sluice income and wealth to the top of the wealth-power pyramid while strip mining the productive class below via inflation and taxes, that's moral decay

Barcelona day-care centers will compulsorily serve organic foods and prioritize local foods.

The Municipal Institute of Education of Barcelona has introduced these conditions for the adjudication of the dining services of the 68 municipal kindergartens, which will begin to be implemented in the month of September and which has a budget of 15,775,766 euros. The conditions will also be included in the dining service of the rest of the municipal cots, which will be awarded next year (33 schools). This is one more step in the promotion of organic products and healthy eating that the IMEB has been promoting for years.

Thus, the technical specifications approved this week have foreseen that the following foods must be compulsorily from organic farming (it has been taken into account for which products this requirement was viable):

The cereals for breakfast.

Among the vegetables, the following will compulsorily be organic throughout the course: onions, carrots, mushrooms and tomato sauce.
The following vegetables will also be compulsorily organic in the indicated seasonal periods: the leeks (from October to March), the pumpkin (from October to February), the spinach (from November to February), the zucchini (in June and July) and the broccoli (from December to February)

In the case of other foods, the fact that they are organic farming is not a requirement, but it will be a merit when awarding the service to one or another company. These other foods are potatoes, pasta, rice, chickpeas, lentils, bread, apple, pear, banana, chicken, veal and milk.
The municipal nurseries will strongly prioritize local foods
With the aim of promoting a more sustainable and fair model, favoring local food production and reducing emissions of carbon dioxide and greenhouse gases, municipal nurseries will prioritize the consumption of local products.

With this criterion, 14 products have been selected among vegetables, starches, legumes and fruits and a score proportional to their volume of consumption has been established in school menus. The products that will be prioritized are proximity to onions, squash, carrots, tomato for salad, green beans, lettuce, potatoes, rice, chickpeas, lentils, orange, apple, pear and banana (each of these products has a maximum score for proximity based on weight and volume of consumption).

For each of these products the maximum score will be awarded to the product that has traveled the least distance from the point of production to our schools, zero points to the product that comes from farther and the rest proportionally. To calculate this distance, we will consider the distance between the postal code of the population of origin of the product up to code 08001 (center of Barcelona) using the shortest route given by the Via Michelin guide.

Other requirements for canteens in nursery schools
Beyond the obligation of organic food and the clear commitment to local products, the canteens of municipal nursery schools must comply with other obligations related to the quality of the products they offer. Thus, you can only use virgin olive oil, the vegetables must always be served fresh, the bread must be of the day, the tomatoes and oranges must be certified as food from integrated production, the fish must be monkfish, hake and frozen cod, gluten-free toothpicks will always be available and half a salad should be served at all meals.

Products supplied by special work centers or social insertion companies
For the first time, the supply of products from the social economy by special work centers or labor insertion companies is also encouraged. The bidder must determine the specific product or products offered (up to a maximum of four) among the foods that are part of the school menus, indicating the supplier company and certifying that this company is a Special Work Center or an Insertion Company.

Barcelona is committed to sustainable, healthy and fair nutrition.

Barcelona is a signatory to the Pact of Milan since 2015, an international agreement promoted by FAO through which the participating cities commit themselves to developing sustainable, fair and healthy agri-food models. In this sense, for the first time a Strategy to Promote the Food Policy in the city has been developed, which brings together more than 60 measures of twelve municipal departments under the leadership of the Commissioner of Social Economy, Local Development and Consumption, for promoting a development of the food model in this sense.

The prioritization of proximity or ecological products in the canteens of nursery schools is one of the 60 measures contemplated. There will also be a similar pilot project to prioritize local products in two municipal soup kitchens. Within the framework of this Strategy, an especially significant commitment is made to local foods and to sustainable production models, such as organic food, as well as the value chains that protect the weak links in the chain, particularly small local producers. and small local commerce.

Among other measures, the strategy includes measures to improve the facilities of small producers and agricultural cooperatives in Mercabarna; the appearance of new regular field markets to Barcelona; or new financing lines for projects of social entities among other initiatives.

The organic sector of the Valencian Community generated 452 million euros in 2018

The ecological sector of the Valencian Community has generated, in 2018, a turnover of 452.4 million €. This figure represents 25% of the market value of the consumption of organic products throughout Spain, which reaches € 1,805 million.

This is clear from the data of the Annual Report of the Ecological Production that the president of the Committee of Ecological Agriculture of the Comunitat Valenciana (CAECV), José Antonio Rico, has presented this morning at the headquarters of Cajamar.
Rico stressed that "these data show that the Valencian, precisely the year that the CAECV celebrates 25 years since its inception, becomes one of the autonomies that is betting on this method of production. Together with Catalonia, he explained, we reached 57.4% of the business volume of the entire national territory. "

Evolution of the number of operators
The Comunitat Valenciana closed 2018 with 2,904 operators (agricultural producers, stockbreeders, vegetative material, aquaculture, companies and importers). This figure has meant an increase of 11.2% in the last year (2017 - 2018), while between 2015 and 2018 the growth has been 29%.

By provinces, Castelló has led the growth in the number of operators in the last year, with 19%, followed by Alicante (12%) and Valencia (9%). If we talk about the evolution in the period between 2015 and 2018, the province of Castelló has also led the increase in the number of operators, with 49%, followed by València (39%) and Alicante (25%).

For the president of the CAECV, "we are talking about very important growths that last year put us at the head of the growth in the number of operators. This year we hope to be able to continue heading the statistics since the data that has advanced the Ministry of Agriculture speak of an average growth in the number of operators of 6%, a figure that the Comunitat practically multiplies by two ".

Producers, companies and importers.

If we refer to the number of producers, that is, farmers, stockbreeders, producers of vegetative material and aquaculture producers dedicated to organic production, in the last year the Comunitat Valenciana has gone from 2,037 to 2,218, which translated in percentage terms means having grown by 8.8%. This figure translates into 22.6% if we talk about the period between 2015 and 2018.
With an increase of 18.9%, Castelló continues to lead growth between 2017 and 2018, followed by Alicante, with 12.4% and València, which has increased its number of organic producers by 9.1% in the last year. The province of Castelló also leads this increase in the last four years (2015 - 2018), with a rise of 34.3%, followed very closely by València (32.2%) and Alicante, with 22.8%.

The number of companies has grown by 19.1% in the last year, much higher than the national average, which, between 2017 and 2018, has increased by 11%. The companies dedicated to the ecological sector have suffered an increase of 51.9% between 2015 and 2018.
The most representative sectors of the ecological companies located in the Valencian Community are those dedicated to the elaboration, conservation, handling and packaging of fruits and vegetables, warehouses and those dedicated to the elaboration of food products of animal origin.

The number of certified importers has grown by 23.2% in the last year and 86.4% in the last four years
"The ecological sector is proving to be very competitive and innovative and the figures we present today say that we are generating new business and work opportunities, helping to mitigate one of the main problems that the Valencian field has, which is none other than the generational relief. In addition, we speak of a production method of great economic, social and environmental importance, "said José Antonio Rico.

The certified surface multiplies its extension by two
The year 2018 was closed with 114.509 certified hectares, 18.6% more than the previous year, when the 96,477 hectares were reached. For Rico, "in 2017 we led the national growth and, in 2018, we remained above the national average, which is an increase of 5%. Autonomies such as Catalonia have increased their surface area in the last year by 5%, while the Balearic Islands have increased by 11% ".
If we talk about the period 2015 - 2018, our territory has seen how the area dedicated to organic production has multiplied practically by two. In 2015 we had 77,120 hectares, while in 2018 we accounted for 114,509, which represents an increase of 48.6%.
Another fact to be taken into account is that, at present, the area devoted to organic farming in the Valencian Community represents 5.7% of the total agricultural area and 13.9% of the useful agricultural area.

By provinces, Valencia leads the growth in the last year, with 31.6%, followed by Castelló (21.1%) and Alicante (4.2%). Between 2015 and 2018, València is also the one that has grown the most, with an 80.5% more area dedicated to this production system. It is followed by the province of Castelló, with an increase of 71.9% and Alicante (15.7%).

Main crops, producing regions and destination of the productions
The organic crops that represent more surface in our Comunitat are: the vineyard for wine, the nuts, the olive grove for oil, the cereals, the citrus fruits, the fruit trees and the vegetables.
Vineyard for wine: 11,630 ha. (18% of the surface compared to the conventional)
Nuts: 9.250 ha. (13.2% of the surface compared to the conventional)
Olive grove for oil: 4,612 ha. (5% of the surface compared to the conventional)
Cereals: 3,599 ha. (8.5% of the surface compared to the conventional)
Citrus: 3,027 ha. (1.9% of the surface compared to the conventional)
Fruit trees: 1,227 ha. (0.8% of the surface compared to the conventional)
Vegetables: 832 ha. (3.5% of the surface compared to the conventional)

Regarding the regions that have more importance in the ecological sector, if we talk about certified surface, the main ones are: The Baix Maestrat in Castelló, La Plana de Utiel - Requena in València and l'Alt Vinalopó, the Vinalopó Mitjà and La Vega Get off in Alicante
On the other hand, if we refer to the types of cultivation, in the Plain of Utiel - Requena and in the Vinalopó Mitjà vineyard cultivation predominates, the production of nuts is concentrated, mainly in Alt Vinalopó and Vinalopó Mitjà, the certified organic olive grove is located in L'Alt Vinalopó, cereal production is concentrated in the interior of the Region, to a greater extent in the regions of La Plana de Utiel - Requena, Valle de Cofrentes - Ayora and l ' Alt Vinalopó, the production of citrus fruits, mostly lemons in the region of La Vega Baja, fruit trees in La Ribera Alta, La Costera, La Vall d'Albaida, L'Alcoià and Baix Vinalopó and the cultivation of vegetables in the 'Horta Nord, Alt Vinalopó, Alacantí, Baix Vinalopó and La Vega Baja.

Our exports are directed almost entirely to the European Union (Germany, France, United Kingdom, Italy, Sweden and the Netherlands, among others). Five categories dominate the exports of organic products of the Comunitat: vegetables, nuts, wines, oils and fruits. Between these crops is concentrated about 75% of the Valencian products exported.

For José Antonio Rico "these data demonstrate the continuous evolution of the ecological sector of the Valencian Community and we are doing it in an orderly manner thanks to the implementation of the I Ecological Production Plan. Our goal is to continue improving the Valencian field, offering the consumer healthy products of higher quality and respectful with the environment, which is what we are demanding, "he concluded.

Super,

Eden's Sumi-Agro relationship appears to be very quiet. Might it be that Sipcam as already exampled several times, will be the distributor of choice for Eden and Sumi needed to partner elsewhere for like products?

We still await an update on Sipcam's evaluation of Sustaine and assuming the positive, I imagine they would want wide consent across Crop Protection for pesticide encapsulation and co-encapsulation right's. Effectively, big ag might have to go to Sipcam direct to have their pesticide encapsulated or co-encapsulated rather than deal with Eden direct.

NANOPARTICLE, METHOD FOR PRODUCING A PESTICIDE FORMULATION, PESTICIDE FORMULATION, METHOD FOR CONTROLLING PESTS, USE OF THE NANOPARTICLE AND USE OF THE PESTICIDE FORMULATION

The present invention describes a starch/abamectin suspension nanoparticle, uses thereof, a pesticide formulation comprising said nanoparticle, the method for producing said pesticide formulation and a method for controlling plant pests. The formulation of the present invention allows easier control over reinfestation by pests, such as, for example, mites, nematodes and/or insects in the soil, with a reduced number of applications and greater residual effect. The present invention pertains to the fields of Chemistry and Farming.
……………………..

In the current paper, we reviewed the use of nanoparticles (NPs) in crop protection, emphasizing the control of pests in the agricultural and urban environment. At the same time, we provide the framework on which the technology of NPs is based and the various categories of NPs that are currently used for pest control. Apart from the use of NPs as carriers of a broad category of active ingredients, including insecticides and pheromones, some NPs can be used successfully as insecticides alone. Moreover, several types of NPs are produced by natural resource-based substances, which make them promising “green alternatives to the use of traditional pest control agents. Finally, the potentials in the use of NPs are briefly illustrated and discussed.

…………………………..

Abstract
Glucan particles (GP) are 2-4 μm hollow and porous microspheres derived from Saccharomyces cerevisiae (Baker’s yeast) that provide an efficient system for encapsulation, protection, and oral or systemic macrophage-targeted delivery of macromolecules, such as DNA, siRNA and proteins using either a polyplex or layer-by-layer (LbL) synthesis methods. We have recently extended the application of GPs to the delivery of nanoparticles (NP) that are encapsulated within the hollow cavity of GPs or bound to the outer surface of chemically derivatized GPs (Soto, et al. J. Drug Delivery, 2012, Article ID 143524). GP mediated delivery of nanoparticles provides the advantages of (1) encapsulation of materials that are difficult to prepare in situ within the glucan particles, such as nanomaterials composed of water-insoluble components, (2) β1,3-D-glucan receptor-targeted delivery of nanoparticles to phagocytic innate immune cells, (3) small molecule loaded nanoparticles for small drug molecule delivery, and (4) targeted delivery of nanoparticles with an intrinsic property, such as magnetic or gold nanoparticles, thus increasing the versatility of the GPs for theranostic applications. Examples of nanoparticles that have been formulated with GPs include magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles, gold nanoparticles, quantum dots and adeno-associated virus (AAV).

…;…………………………………...

Nonviral gene delivery technologies have been developed using layer-by-layer self-assembly of nanomaterials held together by electrostatic interactions in order to provide nanoparticulate materials that protect and deliver DNA to cells. Here we report a new DNA delivery technology based on the in situ layer-by-layer synthesis of DNA nanoparticles caged within hollow yeast cell wall particles (YCWP). YCWP provide protection and facilitate oral and systemic receptor-targeted delivery of DNA payloads to phagocytic cells. The nanoparticles inside YCWP consist of a core of tRNA/polyethylenimine (PEI) followed by a DNA layer that is finally coated with a protective outer layer of PEI. Using fluorescein and rhodamine labeling of tRNA, PEI, and DNA, the layer-by-layer formation of the nanoparticles was visualized by fluorescent microscopy and quantitated by fluorescence spectroscopy and flow cytometry. Optimal conditions (tRNA:YCWP, PEI:YCWP ratios and DNA load levels) to synthesize YCWP encapsulated nanoparticles were determined from these results. The high in vitro transfection efficiency of this encapsulated DNA delivery technology was demonstrated by the transfection of NIH3T3-D1 cells with YCWP-tRNA/PEI/gWizGFP/PEI formulations containing low amounts of the plasmid gWizGFP per particle to maximally express green fluorescent protein (GFP).
