I would imagine it would expedite the search for existing biopesticde companies who are already somewhat down the line so that companies can
A) improve their corporate image
B) improve products to consumers
C) reduce the fear of illness and a burden on the NHS and alike
D) mitigate potential future financial risk through such claims
E) make themselves more investible
F) Be a people's champion
G) protect farmers

I give up, I could go on with loads of reasons

Given that "globally, Eden is one of the few biocontrol companies with proven product and regulatory authorisation" I cannot see why they would be close to the top of the list of many companies looking to purchase such a business.

And given the financial benefit of bringing biopesticides to market as highlighted on slide 19.

They must be. I also think all the Biopesticide growth numbers that are banded about will be exceeded as the tremors felt by every Glyphosate decision get bigger and the Corporations start taking the issue seriously. Bayer clearly and arrogantly thought they could lie their way through these cases and calm investors. Clearly the reverse is true and they are not only unable to stem the tide of terrible publicity even with their cosy alliances in corporate bought off media land, the consequence's for the whole industry are becoming increasingly evident as Consumers act.

It can't be long before someone looks at the Bayer model and culture and starts questioning it's integrity especially as it asks us to Trust them in their pathetic 'Leaps' campaign.

South Auckland lab leading the world in green pesticides signs multi-million dollar deal with China

According to recent research, the market for biopesticide technology in China was estimated to grow from $220 million US dollars in 2016, to $1363 million by 2025.

Outside of China the globally the market for biopesticides is expected to reach $6.4 billion by 2023

Biopesticides that used bacteria often required refrigeration to be kept alive, which made transport difficult and drove up cost.
"That was a massive hurdle."
To overcome this, the Pukekohe worked with Axis Labs in Nelson, creating a way to store the bacteria in water-dispersible granules.

The "zero pesticide residues" approach is widening.

A year after its creation, the collective New Fields, which guarantees consumers products without quantifiable pesticide residues, has gone from seven members to 52. The process intends to continue its growth in 2019.

Launched in January 2018, the collective Nouveaux champs, led by Les Paysans de Rougeline, brought together many new members in one year. There were seven originally; they are now 52, mostly fresh fruits and vegetables. The group, which held a press conference on the eve of the opening of the Agricultural Show, represents 10% of French production and 3,000 producers, according to Gilles Bertrandias, president of the collective. Thanks to the arrival of its new members, the collective now offers a range of 108 references, with 26 species of fresh fruits and vegetables labeled "zero pesticide residues".

An average IFT divided by two
As a reminder, the collective is born of the ambition to meet societal expectations and offers of sustainable agriculture guaranteed "zero pesticide residues". "All active substances that generated residues are analyzed," says Gilles Bertrandias.

To guarantee their promise, producers prefer prophylaxis, physical tools, nets, or even biocontrol. One year after the launch of the initiative, the producers reduced their average FTI (treatment frequency index) by 51%, the group announced. "We are already ahead of the targets set for 2025 by the Ministry of Agriculture," notes Gilles Bertrandias.

More products and more members for 2019
If the tomato remains the product, it should be labeled (radish, green bean, artichoke, endive, asparagus, mushroom ...), fruit (banana, peach, nectarine, almond ...) and even processed products (apple juice, paste, plum, wine). These are 46 products that should be mentioned before the end of the year.

The proposed tonnages should also increase significantly. "In 2018, we had a potential production of about 25,000 tones, but only 9,500 tones were labeled," says Gilles Bertrandias. Some products were not labeled for lack of a market, others failed to achieve the objectives for residual analyzes.
Finally, New Fields plans to further increase the number of its members. It could be over 80 members before the end of the year.

To the HVE

The collective wishes to encourage the emergence of the "third way" of agriculture by relying on the global base of the HVE. 50% of the producers in the Nouveaux champs collective are already "committed to HVE" (level 2 certification) and 14% (or seven producers) are HVE certified (level 3). With the aim of reaching out to the HVE, the collective will accompany its members and will carry out, in each of them, an annual report.
In the longer term, New Fields does not preclude taking an interest in other issues than pesticide residues. "The spirit of the collective New fields is that of the constant progress of agriculture," concluded Gilles Bertrandias.

"No residues" and "no pesticides": Tomorrow Earth launches two new promises

The Producers' Association Tomorrow Earth, which promotes responsible agriculture, announced on the occasion of the Agricultural Show the launch of two new criteria, optional, which its members will be able to boast: "without detected pesticide residues" and "grown without synthetic pesticides".

Born in 2004, the association Demain la Terre has thirteen companies1, all holders of minimum level 2 environmental certification and five being certified HVE2 (level 3). Companies fulfill some 60 criteria listed in the Tomorrow Earth Charter. These criteria are distributed around eight axes: phyto products, water, soil, biodiversity, energy, waste, economy and social.

The association now offers companies that wish to further develop their production by meeting two new criteria highlighting the reduction or even the cessation of the use of pesticides. These criteria, optional, will have to complement all the other criteria of the charter.

"No pesticide residues detected"
The first criterion is an obligation of result: it guarantees the consumer that no pesticide residues have been detected on the product (the research will cover all potentially detectable molecules). This result stems ultimately from an obligation of means: that of reducing, beyond what is required by the basic charter, the use of pesticides.

Companies that choose to meet this new criterion will be able to affix on their product, in addition to the traditional Tomorrow Earth macaroon, the words "Without detected pesticide residues".
An independent laboratory will have to carry out the analyzes to validate the respect of this criterion.

"Cultivated without pesticides"
The second criterion commits the producer not to use any synthetic pesticide. This will only use authorized products in organic farming and biocontrol solutions. Products meeting this criterion may be marketed with the logo Tomorrow the Earth, as well as the mention "Cultivated without synthetic pesticides"
To guarantee the promise, the external control body that carries out the annual audit will have to add, in its control grid, this new criterion in addition to those of the Tomorrow Earth Charter.

Framing the "Third Way"

These two new criteria come to highlight the practices of the members of the association, which represent, according to them "the Third way of agriculture". Tomorrow the Earth is also part (with Bleu-Blanc-Cœur, Vignerons in sustainable development, and the CRC® sector - the Wheat of our campaigns) of the "Collective for the Third Way" launched last June.

While many actors claim to be the "Third Way", Tomorrow Earth feels it is necessary to define it clearly. "For us, the Third Way is between conventional and bio, but it must also meet the three pillars of sustainable development" (ecology, social, energy, Ed), says Marc de Nale, director of Tomorrow Earth. The members of the association also took advantage of Emmanuel Macron's visit to the Salon de l'Agriculture on February 23 to remind him of the importance of overseeing this "Third Way" and not to think of it only by sector. .

Pesticides: A Parkinson's disease worker makes the inexcusable mistake of a Bordeaux castle recognized.

The social center of the tribunal de Grande Instance of Bordeaux has rendered its decision: it recognizes Sylvie Berger's illness as an occupational disease and the inexcusable fault of his former employer, a Médoc estate, Château Vernous. The wine worker accuses her of being responsible for her Parkinson's disease declared in 2016, after having exposed her to pesticides in the vineyards.

I'm happy, relieved that someone finally heard me - Sylvie Berger
The plaintiff, Sylvie Berger, says she is "upset" by this decision, which comes almost two months after the hearing, which took place at the end of January, in Bordeaux. A decision that could lead others, in dozens of files in progress in Bordeaux. Sylvie Berger denounces a "omerta" in the wine industry about the dangers of pesticides.

If it is so difficult to reach such convictions, it is because in this field, "it is up to the employee to prove the employer's failings and in small structures, the burden of proof is extremely burdensome, "says master Hermine Baron, Sylvie Berger's lawyer who welcomes a rare decision in agriculture.

This decision is not necessarily final, the lawyer of the castle Vernous, master Éric Mandin, reserves the possibility to appeal. But anyway, "it remains a strong signal that shows that the courts are seized of this problem. It will be an example, a precedent," said Master Baron.

Glyposate trial 2 pt2 (Hardeman)

Dorothy M. Atkins@doratki

Did Mr. Hardeman prove by a preponderance of the evidence his claim that
Monsanto was negligent by not using reasonable care to warn about Roundup’s NHL risk? YES.

The jury awarded $75 million in punitive damages.

The jury awarded about $200,000 in economic damages and about $5 million past and future economic losses.

The total verdict is over $80 million.

Didn't some wag on hear make a 'prediction' that the share price would be £1 on April 1st?

Endocrine disruptors alter female reproduction throughout multiple generations
by The Endocrine Society

"We postulate that impaired maternal behavior induced by endocrine disruptors is one of the main causes of reproductive alterations affecting the subsequent generations," he said. Indeed, the researchers reported that the second and third generations did show impaired maternal care in the form of reduced licking of their young and more time away from the nest.

"Our results raise concern about the potential long-term effects that manmade pollutant chemicals could have throughout generations," Lopez Rodriguez said.

@JAMooreKentucky says there was a malignant lymphoma in every mouse study from 1983 to 2010. "Monsanto knew that there was an issue," she says. Monsanto even hired Dr. James Parry to look at 4 studies in 1999, and he found glyphosate may be genotoxic, but the company ignored it.

Dorothy M. Atkins@doratki

@JAMooreKentucky says Dr. Parry recommended Monsanto to do more studies assessing the genotoxicity of its Roundup products, but in 1999 Monsanto's chief of regulatory science, William Heydens, wrote: "We simply aren’t going to do the study Parry suggests."

Guys, what is your best estimate of percentage value of total sales going to EDEN for MEV + CED.

I'm currently guestimating c. 25%, though I realise higher figures have been mentioned, since the change in licensing/manufacturing model. EDEN also therefore has higher cost of sales, isn't that right?
