Fwiw, I think the price will respond to regulatory permissions on cedroz, and eventual launch of cap and consumer verticals, with their implied and growing revenues. Plus, I was a bit mystified as to why we should be valuing Eden on twice eventual revenues, rather than a PE ratio based on multiples of profits. But maybe we've been too rose tinted about the rate of revenue growth, and we do not know how much in house expansion may bite into costs.

Certainly, every optimistic assumption has been proved wrong so far, so there are grounds for caution. But a year of break through announcements could still transform the market's view.

After this announcement, the tea will now taste bitter. Chinese tea brands, sold in Morocco, contain pesticide residues.
The National Office for Food Safety (ONSSA) sounds the alarm. According to the Arabic-language daily Al Akhbar in its delivery on Monday, March 25, several Chinese tea brands, sold on the Moroccan market, contain traces of pesticides exceeding regulatory limits.

Whether green or black, tea is not cleaned during harvest or preparation. Result: there are some contaminants. ONSSA has sent a circular to importers of tea, obliging them to respect quality criteria.

The Office therefore carries out a systematic control of imported food as part of its food quality monitoring missions. This control ensures that imported teas comply with national and international standards and provide the necessary health guarantees.

Al Akhbar adds that in the case of non-compliance of the product, it is not allowed to enter the domestic market and is therefore rejected.

But according to the media of Casablanca, this decision of the ONSSA was not the taste of the professionals who fear the increase of the price of the tea due to the lack of production.

Meetings between officials of the National Office of Food Safety, the Association of Tea Professionals of Morocco and some Chinese producers have recently been held to find a solution that would suit all parties.

As a reminder, Morocco is the largest importer of Chinese green tea with 25% of total exports of this product.

Does anyone understand why Shore Capital has chosen to deliver a broker note now?

Is it reflective and timely following the end of year (2018) report?

Does anyone here think we are invested in Eden for it to simply reach a £50 million market cap?

How do we ascertain the value of Sustaine to be used by agro-chemical companies?

Are we really another two years away from a modest profit and if so, does that matter given the size of the prize?

Did you know that of the 110 granted and pending patents that half are granted and in 55 countries worldwide? How will little old Eden ever find the time to deliver these patented products to commercial products without help? e.g. being part of something bigger.

Did we know Eden's margin is 35-50% of gross margin on product sales?

The financial cost of nematodes is 2-3 x larger than botrytis; spider mites and white fly is an even bigger problem (ideally solved by G3Y). And where does the issue of Powdery mildew sit relative to the size of the problem in all that?

Eden targets animal health, consumer health and has global partners and Eden's competitive speed-to-approval via European approval of Eden's 3 active ingredients gives Eden a strong competitive advantage.

There is an upside to 47p based on current terpene-based product development, but even that will take some years to get into commercialisation and even so, 47p with the current shares in issue would only value Eden at £98 million market cap. General assumptions of circa 5% market share by country is the assumption.


Given Eden's and Shore Cap's use of language such as "significant", "global" and more, can anyone really explain why our potential market cap for the future is a paltry £98 million?

No value attempt has been made at Sustaine. Yet, it addresses the issue of reducing a plastic footprint currently used in other microencapsulation technologies (huge PR potential and morality/environmental issue), has time effective release and good results on protection.


Eden operates in a multi-billion market opportunity and has highlighted the same themselves. Their goal is to be a major player in the global biopesticides market according to our Chairman. We are an industrial biotech and biopesticides company, both offering huge upside.

In the current paper, we reviewed the use of nanoparticles (NPs) in crop protection, emphasizing the control of pests in the agricultural and urban environment. At the same time, we provide the framework on which the technology of NPs is based and the various categories of NPs that are currently used for pest control. Apart from the use of NPs as carriers of a broad category of active ingredients, including insecticides and pheromones, some NPs can be used successfully as insecticides alone. Moreover, several types of NPs are produced by natural resource-based substances, which make them promising “green” alternatives to the use of traditional pest control agents. Finally, the potentials in the use of NPs are briefly illustrated and discussed.



Abstract
Glucan particles (GP) are 2-4 μm hollow and porous microspheres derived from Saccharomyces cerevisiae (Baker’s yeast) that provide an efficient system for encapsulation, protection, and oral or systemic macrophage-targeted delivery of macromolecules, such as DNA, siRNA and proteins using either a polyplex or layer-by-layer (LbL) synthesis methods. We have recently extended the application of GPs to the delivery of nanoparticles (NP) that are encapsulated within the hollow cavity of GPs or bound to the outer surface of chemically derivatized GPs (Soto, et al. J. Drug Delivery, 2012, Article ID 143524). GP mediated delivery of nanoparticles provides the advantages of (1) encapsulation of materials that are difficult to prepare in situ within the glucan particles, such as nanomaterials composed of water-insoluble components, (2) β1,3-D-glucan receptor-targeted delivery of nanoparticles to phagocytic innate immune cells, (3) small molecule loaded nanoparticles for small drug molecule delivery, and (4) targeted delivery of nanoparticles with an intrinsic property, such as magnetic or gold nanoparticles, thus increasing the versatility of the GPs for theranostic applications. Examples of nanoparticles that have been formulated with GPs include magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles, gold nanoparticles, quantum dots and adeno-associated virus (AAV).

Nonviral gene delivery technologies have been developed using layer-by-layer self-assembly of nanomaterials held together by electrostatic interactions in order to provide nanoparticulate materials that protect and deliver DNA to cells. Here we report a new DNA delivery technology based on the in situ layer-by-layer synthesis of DNA nanoparticles caged within hollow yeast cell wall particles (YCWP). YCWP provide protection and facilitate oral and systemic receptor-targeted delivery of DNA payloads to phagocytic cells. The nanoparticles inside YCWP consist of a core of tRNA/polyethylenimine (PEI) followed by a DNA layer that is finally coated with a protective outer layer of PEI. Using fluorescein and rhodamine labeling of tRNA, PEI, and DNA, the layer-by-layer formation of the nanoparticles was visualized by fluorescent microscopy and quantitated by fluorescence spectroscopy and flow cytometry. Optimal conditions (tRNA:YCWP, PEI:YCWP ratios and DNA load levels) to synthesize YCWP encapsulated nanoparticles were determined from these results. The high in vitro transfection efficiency of this encapsulated DNA delivery technology was demonstrated by the transfection of NIH3T3-D1 cells with YCWP-tRNA/PEI/gWizGFP/PEI formulations containing low amounts of the plasmid gWizGFP per particle to maximally express green fluorescent protein (GFP).

Ecological food: significant reduction in chemical exposure.



The results of one of the most significant studies published in recent months in this field have been published in the journal Environmental Research (printed edition of April 2019, available on the internet since February 12). In this scientific article, the team headed by Carly Hyland, from the Center for Environmental Research and Child Health of the School of Public Health of the University of California at Berkeley (United States), concludes that, based on the analyzes carried out, it is possible to affirm that a diet based on organic food significantly reduces the presence of various pesticides in the urine of the people studied. "This study adds to the growing body of literature that indicates that an organic diet [with organically grown food] can reduce exposure to a remarkable variety of pesticides in children and adults," the authors write.

The objective of the study was to determine if the introduction of an organic diet in people who usually eat conventional agricultural products can reduce the presence in your body of the most common insecticides, herbicides and fungicides.

To test this hypothesis, the authors analyzed 158 urine samples from 16 people from four different areas of the United States. That is to say, the urine of people was analyzed while they were fed with products of conventional agriculture and, later, the urine of these people was re-analyzed a few days after becoming consumers of organic products.

The result was that in the urine analyzed after the diet change "we observed significant reductions" in the levels of 13 metabolites (derived substances) or primary compounds of insecticides and herbicides, the authors point out.
Diet is an important part of the exposure of the general population to certain chemical substances.

The most significant decreases corresponded to the presence of clothianidin, an insecticide of the neonicotinoid family (the group of substances involved in the mass death of bees), and two metabolites of malathion (a synthetic organophosphorus insecticide widely used in agriculture) and of chlorpyrofos (an organophosphorus insecticide that some studies relate, in chronic exposure, to neurological effects and developmental and autoimmune disorders in humans).

In the introduction of this new study, the authors remind that diet is an important part of the exposure of the general population to certain chemical substances. In a previous investigation, led in 2016 by the Food and Drug Administration of the United States (FDA for its acronym in English) indicated that approximately 47% of foods made in the United States and 49% of those imported from other countries they contained pesticide residues. The control samples also made by official US agencies, including the Department of Agriculture, indicate that foods from organic farming "contain less pesticide residues compared to conventional agriculture," the authors of the paper recalled. study published now in Environmental Research.

After these basic data, the team led by Carly Hyland, mentions four previous scientific studies in which exposure to pesticides is related to various health problems; especially, a lower score in cognitive abilities, asthma, cancer and the reproductive and endocrine systems.

To finish exposing the relationship between pesticides, ecological agriculture and health, the authors remember the publication in October 2018 in the European Journal of Nutrition of a study led by Julia Baudry (researcher at the Center for Epidemiology and Statistics of the University of Paris in Bobigny) in which it is indicated that people with diets based on organic food have a low probability of presenting the so-called metabolic syndrome (group of conditions that increase the risk of developing heart disease and type 2 diabetes). The results of this latest study are based on the medical history of almost 70,000 people.

The study published now in Environmental Research is signed by six researchers from four centers of recognized scientific prestige and by Kendra Klein, member of the scientific team specialized in Agroecology and Environmental Health of the Friends of the Earth organization in the United States.

The presence of Klein in the team of authors of this study has been used by some US media and groups of scientists to try to discredit the results, although the publication in the scientific journal Environmental Research should already be a reason for recognition .

Thus, in a newspaper article published on the website of Forbes magazine (specializing in economics and large companies), Jenny Splitter harshly criticizes the scientific study published in Environmental Research. Splitter says that the researchers "have only analyzed the presence of pesticides allowed in conventional agriculture and have not [sought] the pesticides allowed in organic farming"; in a statement that seems to want to compare the use of chemicals in these two different ways of practicing agriculture.

More puzzling is the paragraph in which it is stated verbatim that "the study [of the Environmental Research magazine] does not say anything about whether there is any health risk associated with conventional pesticide residues, since the mere presence of a chemical in Urine is not necessarily an unhealthy or dangerous sign. " In this case, the comments are superfluous because it seems obvious that no one in their right mind can feel safe when ingesting and urinating synthetic pesticides.

To justify her criticism, Jenny Splitter concludes her article stating that "not all pesticides are the same" and that using or not using pesticides - natural and synthetic - in agriculture is "a complex issue", with factors for and against.

In answer earlier on I take no heed of Shore.The month before they talked of mid term and patience in the Evening Standard.
Nothing at the moment tells me anything other than Medium term and sit tight. I had thought 6months ago it was Sept 19 But now I think 2020 Is the earliest date for any real good price news.
Trust well that’s a funny thing as theyve never, at least in the 3 yrs previous made any calls that have broken any trust.
I would counsel keep the lid on too many short term expectations and hope there is nothing coming up fast on the rails

Chrischas,

I'm more persuaded that the commercial interests and plans of Bayer and Sumitomo possibly along with Eastman or others that we have not been told about are the 'Lid' on Eden and TT's communication issues as they both seem afflicted.

The Lid may prevent Eden communicating on all matter of issues that we have know idea about. The smoking gun is the parallel delays imo which suggests to me that either Sumitomo or Bayer is working with TT or that their is an issue pertinent/common to both that effects both independently that needs to be overcome that gives the false impression of parallel working but instead is a more deeply rooted issue.
Either way the company is telling investors that it will be resolved by Sept19.

I believe the Trust element that Eden have relied heavily upon will be tested if they don't either deliver or come clean on what the issue is that keeps these cans being kicked down the road in unison.

I'm confident this will be frustrating the management as much as investors and am confident they will be trying their level best to resolve whatever is delaying both launches. The dilemma for them is managing the Lid/NDA's with Investor expectation and keeping trust and professional reputation intact. We can only hope a resolution to this double bind is something within their gift.

My bet is it is.
