Hey SK I wondered how long it would take for you to visit and play your merry Game. The transformation of Roydors Character was premature and therefore a bit Klunky but as your rightly embarrassed to repost as SK or RS then I suppose a metamorphic Lube evolution into Roydor will have to do..LOL

Just checked the last financial results. Revenue halved and loss doubled. Sad really when some greens are so committed to this share. Buy some fertiliser in Homebase instead.

Heinemann explains that because these herbicides are not “supertoxic” to the bacteria the study tested–E. coli and Salmonella–they are not killed outright at levels typically used to kill weeds. Instead, the bacteria stay alive while activating proteins known as efflux pumps in order to rid themselves of toxins. And this defense mechanism can make the bacteria develop resistance to the threat from which it is defending itself.
Scientists know that overuse of antibiotics in humans can decrease their effectiveness. In the same way, says Heinemann, “exposure to these pesticides make the pathogens stronger.”
Although this study only looked at two laboratory strains of human pathogens, the antibiotics examined represent what he calls “broad classes” of drugs we’ve come to depend on to fight infections and the herbicides are three of the most-used worldwide.

Syngenta's controversial technologies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It seems to me that Eden has the opportunity to educate investors and thus the share price, on many fronts. In no particular order

1) GRAS and 'The Natural Solution'. What does this mean, how does it differ and become a point of difference in Eden's target markets, who or what markets is Eden targeting, what is the size of that new bio opportunity, what it the timeline?

2) Discuss conventional agro-chemicals, what they are, how regulators are now viewing this sector, what this means to Eden, what is the size of the prize, where is Eden's direct competition and how do we fare in comparison?

3) What is Eden's technology, is it revolutionary, if not, what is the appeal, what are the opportunities, when do the opportunities come to market, what is the size of the market and what is the timeline?

4)What are the challenges facing the top 10 agro-chemical companies in the face or more stringent regulation, consumer awareness and choices, how are they prepared to meet these changes, what timelines to exact change do they face, what is their route to change, internal or via partners/alliances (such as Eden)?

5) How does all of this translate into commercial prospects for Eden and share price prospects for the Eden shareholder.

All of this of course, needs to be interwoven into a complete piece of Investor Relations, using film and hearing from the horses mouth, i.e. the BoD, thus making it more believable and helping shareholders to make investment decisions.

Those better educated make better decisions and this is all to Eden's benefit.

Good article. They never give up trying to shove GM food down our throats.

The seller must be having a day off - he would normally be more than happy to sell at the current price.

Europe asks for your opinion on pesticides

The European Commission is evaluating its legislation on pesticides and residues. With the so-called 'Refit' evaluation, the Commission wants to make legislation simpler and more comprehensible. After a survey of the stakeholders, the general public is now also being consulted to find out what can be improved: for example, Europe wants to know from its inhabitants how well they are informed about pesticides, and how safe they feel when they think their food is produced. using different types of pesticides.
Biological merits
Together with our European umbrella organization, IFOAM EU, we call on everyone to complete the survey. The organic farming sector proves daily that cultivation without chemical pesticides is indeed possible. Unfortunately, the strategies that organic farming uses to protect crops receive too little attention in current pesticides legislation.
For example, there is a need for a better registration procedure for natural active substances and more public funds are needed for research. After all, natural substances often have a more limited market scope and, moreover, they offer few opportunities for intellectual property rights. As a result, the industry has little or no interest in researching it themselves.

Your opinion about ...
Through the survey, the Commission wants to, among other things, look at:
the extent to which you feel sufficiently informed about the use and safety of pesticides;
the extent to which you are familiar with the way in which pesticides are regulated in Europe and whether or not you consider these regulations to be sufficient;
your opinion on the need for pesticides;
your opinion on the legislation on pesticide residues on food;
your opinion on the way in which Europe decides on pesticides.

Fill in the survey now!
The consultation runs until Monday 12/02. In the right-hand column you will see a menu 'languages', select Dutch and the questions will be automatically translated.

A few points of interest
For your information we will give you some attention points, as an umbrella of the organic agricultural sector:
Organic growers try to avoid diseases and pests in the first place by means of good management measures. The focus is on the ecosystem of the soil. A healthy soil can be obtained thanks to an appropriate fertilization (without artificial fertilizer), multi-year crop rotation (so that the soil does not become depleted), choice for robust varieties (which are more resistant to diseases and have an extensive root system) and so on ... A plague or disease is a signal that the ecosystem is not in balance

The term 'pesticides' can refer to both synthetic and naturally occurring substances. The questions from the survey therefore relate to both. In organic farming, chemical-synthetic pesticides are not allowed, but a limited number of resources of natural origin. According to the biological specifications, these can only be used if the other measures (healthy soil, robust varieties, balanced ecosystem) are not sufficient.
Both the FASFC (Belgium) and EFSA (Europe) control fruit and vegetables for the presence of residues. They must intervene if the maximum permitted amount (MRL) is exceeded. For each active substance, the residue is often below that MRL. But sometimes there are several residues present and little is known about the consequences for our health of such combinations! For example, it appears that more than 3 types of residues are present on non-organic apples and pears. And washing does not always help, because the residues are also under the skin.
Do you want more background information? Then read the interesting position paper on plant health in organic farming from IFOAM.

Here is one more thing. As a company you cannot in my opinion, pick when you want value to arrive as circumstances, markets and sentiment changes. It is not a given that Eden or any other company will reap full value. If this is so, you have to maximise value at every moment, however you can. The DJIA feel 1,100 points the other day catching everyone by surprise ( I see 75% of the value has come back now), but it caught people by surprise. Had a downward spiral ensued, demand for Eden's shares, a company operating in a regulatory market(s) would not have been, again in my opinion, top of the tree.

In short, Eden should inwardly recognise what they have now, communicate this in full to the investor market, in the right way and through the most appropriate channels so as to give the share price its best chance of alignment to true value today.
If internally, Eden is defacto saying that 8p today represents fair value, then there is nothing for them to do on the communications front.

If on the other hand, there is a gap between true value and share price, then they have a responsibility to narrow that gap. Annual trading updates, interims and full year results, just 3 isolatory messages are not they way to do that over the course of 365 days. RNS requirements maybe, but that is information, not communication.

So in reality there are very few voices here given the 207 million shares in issue. Wherever you go online, Eden is barely talked about. Why is this?

Given the general sentiment here Eden are lucky. If Eden were one of the more popular stocks with this sentiment their image would not be derived from their own website, but here on Share bulletin boards where private investors reside, where they communicate with each other, share with each other and sometimes learn from each other, because those learnings are not forthcoming from the Company.

AIM companies image and persona can often be cultivated on places like ADVFN, triple I and others. Why? Because companies fail to deliver that much needed non- regulatory information that these investors seek. I and many others have seen it many times. Companies and their PR agents can then become powerless to change this image of the company and correct it. Sometimes old school board members fear social media (if this is what we are calling this) rather than embracing it. image can be everything (This is part of the role of a PR firm is it not, so somewhat undeniable).

If Eden were a FTSE 100 company then commentary on these BB's would be of little relevance, but they are not, they are an £18 million minnow who needs to cultivate a reputation in the investment world, who need to create a good image, who need to be seen as a board who deliver operationally and on time, who needs to ensure that investors and potential investors alike understand their business sectors, their products and services, their point(s) of difference vis-à-vis the competition, their potential market and geographic impact and footprint. In other words, all the reasons to invest.

I'm personally staggered that Eden are so dogged and resilient in not changing this modus operandi in specific relation to investor demand and the need for more information, when they can clearly see that to do so is so dangerous to their share price, their market cap, their cost of funds (historically), the Company's image, their personal image and more. Those City boys that are invested may see Eden's image as intact, but that shareholder base is not managing, controlling, influencing the share price so that is one image, if positive, that doesn't need changing. Eden needs different approaches and solutions for different markets and given what it is that Eden does with its products in different geographies, it should be easy to understand that this is so in the shareholder register 'market'.

I genuinely feel sorry for your 20 years here, whatever the reasons for that may be.

For sure, Eden owes its shareholders both a greater insight and a greater share price today, giving options to all those invested and not invested as to what they would like their future investment relationship with Eden to be.
