Smith told us that he expects Mevalone to take 3-4 years to get to 'peak volume' of sales. If we assume label extensions will be along shortly one can quite reasonably expect Sipcam's ambitions and timescales to be very focused on the Californian market and their plant expansions at least in part could be attributable to the anticipated sales of Mevalone.

Some of the more bullish of us here might link Sipcam's objectives to enhance it's Fungicide capacity with the '(Sipcam) "building their sustainable pesticide business in the US largely around Mevalone" (Smith) along with huge Californian market being "all about sustainable production" and don't forget the Downy and Powdery Mildew label extensions for Mevalone coming along shortly.

Sipcam Oxon acquires US assets



This acquisition strengthens Sipcam Oxon's presence in the United States, where the company is already present with its distribution subsidiary, Sipcam Agro USA, which has a turnover of over 100 million dollars. Full integration along the value chain with its own formulation and logistics assets will help strengthen the company's position on the market. The operation concerns the purchase of the industrial assets of the company Odom Industries Inc. consisting of the logistics center in Shubuta (Mississippi) and the production site in Waynesboro (Mississippi), dedicated to the formulation of agrochemicals with a total workforce of approximately 140 people. The Waynesboro production site is equipped with various formulation technologies, mainly for the production of herbicides.

“This acquisition – declares Paolo Brogi , CEO of the Sipcam Oxon Group – represents an important step for the Group's growth strategy in the USA. Thanks to the strong technical production skills of the Group, the Company also intends to become a "contract manufacturer" of primary importance in the agropharmaceuticals sector to make the innovative know-how and production capacity of its plants available to American customers".

“The acquisition of these assets from Odom Industries Inc. is an important milestone for our growth in the United States,” said Nadia Gagliardini, President of Sipcam Oxon Group. “This transaction will allow us to consolidate our presence in the U.S. agrochemical, biostimulants and biorationals markets.”

This acquisition will enable Sipcam Agro to be fully integrated from the synthesis through formulation and packaging to make the end use product. Sipcam will focus on being a high-quality, competitively priced, and reliable supplier of crop protection and Turf and Ornamental products and the acquisition will allow closer partnerships with key customers.

Product and Services

Our first facility is located in Waynesboro, Ms and has 105,000 sq. ft. of production and warehouse space. We have eight production units at our Waynesboro facility. Two of these units are dry production facilities. One is dedicated to herbicides and the other to fungicides. Each of these dry units is capable of producing water dispersible granules, wettable powders and repackaging bulk materials. Our third unit is a Munson Blender unit, which can produce impregnated granules and can also blend powdered materials at approximately the same rate. These three units will also grind powders to fine micron particle sizes, with packaging equipment to fill sizes ranging from small containers to bulk bags. Our fourth and fifth units are dedicated to liquid flowable products with one of these units to Agricultural Products and the other to Industrial Products. Our sixth unit is also a wet milling liquid flowable system, which is used for our fungicide flowables. Our seventh unit is a powder plant used for particle size reduction of powders by mechanical or airmilling particle size reduction equipment. Unit number eight, the most recent unit is a stainless steel liquid process currently producing liquid herbicides. We also have the capability to produce EC products.

I don't believe any comments on this board make a difference to the price. What does make a difference is if it is the national press. Why don't you use that researcher you employ and investigate how EDEN ended up in the Daily Mail tip sheet...
