In view of the current enthusiasm just to remind everyone that this company has not moved upwards for many years- From my database when it first came to my attention
"Jan 09 Eden Research, the ‘green’ agritech company, has just announced that its licensing agreement with Cheminova has been extended to 17 countries. This is good news. The new countries include most New-World wine producers, and very large economies such as India. This further supports Eden’s revenue potential once its leading anti-botrytis product gets regulatory approval, which remains imminent.
Eden is one of the larger companies on PLUS. It has a market cap of £25m"

So market cap today is £16.3M - Cash burner- after many years of cash infusions still well belwo the level of 11 years ago -

Looks as though UK agri-development companies may have interesting science but unable to gain commercial traction to name but two listed ones - Plant Impact (sold for peanuts) - Plant Health care - struggling - announcing patent grants but down some 97% from the peak. Same picture with unlisted eg: Arpolith etc.

Investing,
Article from Dec 2017 (specsavers;)and posting as it possibly supports my timeline theory that the Eden/Corteva deal started in a Dow related company. Also of note is the Valent (Valent Bioscience) reference.

See my post 5395 for further Valent related links or jigsaw pieces as I like to think of them. One of which I post below;

Sumitomo/ Valent Bioscience Partnerships.

Evolva Japan

Evolva (SIX: EVE) and Valent BioSciences Corporation (VBC), a subsidiary of Tokyo-based Sumitomo Chemical Company, have signed an exclusive agreement to co-develop and commercialise a class of high-value active ingredients for use as next-generation agricultural bioactives. For competitive reasons, the ingredients are not being identified at this time.

Bioactives are being used increasingly around the globe because they help growers improve crop yields without any negative effects to either human health or the environment. They are used in both organic and conventional agriculture and horticulture. Along with crop rotation and integrated pest management strategies, bioactives play an important role in sustainable farming.

The collaboration will start by developing yeast strains that make the desired ingredients. Evolva has the primary responsibility for this phase while VBC will be responsible for commercialisation. The companies will work together on scale-up and manufacturing. The first products from the collaboration are expected to be launched in 4-5 years.

Total spending on the project during the next five years is estimated at CHF 12-14 million. Evolva and VBC have agreed to split equally both the R&D costs and profits from active ingredient sales.
“Our fermentation platform is uniquely well-suited to produce a wide range of high-value, cost-effective, and sustainable ingredients, said Neil Goldsmith, CEO of Evolva. “We are delighted to be partnering with VBC to leverage this platform to develop and commercialise next-generation agricultural bioactives.
“This collaboration aligns well with VBC’s growth strategy in the area of bioactives,â€ said Ted Melnik, Executive Vice President and COO of Valent BioSciences Corporation. “Our combined expertise and history of innovation provides a solid foundation for this agreement.â€5533;

DuPont and Sumitomo Chemical Company Announce Global Seed-Applied Technology Agreement

DES MOINES, Iowa, and WALNUT CREEK, Calif., Dec. 4, 2017 – DuPont and Sumitomo Chemical Company, Limited announced today a global agreement to collaborate on the development, registration and commercialization of seed-applied technologies for use in key crops around the world.

DuPont and Sumitomo Chemical formed this collaboration out of a shared objective to accelerate development and commercialization of novel seed-applied technologies to improve early plant growth and yields. The global agreement leverages the strengths of both companies, combining the conventional chemical and biological pipeline from Sumitomo Chemical, with the advanced seed technology and development and commercialization capability of DuPont Crop Protection, a business unit of DowDuPont Agriculture Division.

From post 7404

"Mr. Villeneuve will be supporting Eden with strategy development and execution as well as strategic business development in a number of territories. His contributions are most welcome and add a significant amount of experience and energy to the team.”

It is a shame we don't hear more about him and his contribution, at least it is to me. Save guessing on here, it would be useful in my opinion for Eden to impart more information. The more we know, the more comfortable we are. The less we know......

Thanks..

Lets see if/how the Corteva deal develops. IMO the Corteva deal started as a DOW related deal so the question for me atm is would they just want Europe/Russia/ Ukraine/Turkey or would they want the world? and would Eden want to give them that especially with Bayer in the picture?

The Corteva to Sipcam Senior appointment of Paulo Costa which focusses on many crops amongst them Soybean and Cotton could be part of that wider picture which includes Glyphosate which Corteva would certainly want to resolve as Jim Collins says as evidenced in my previous post which also matches Sean Smiths (7402)'conventional pesticide' comments.

Maybe relevant Maybe Not.

Time will tell.

This would be a good tree to bark up and rather more obvious.

He was with Dow AgroSciences for many years so he would be fully aware and involved in some ways with Corteva Agriscience™

Wheels within Wheels..??
This Fella worked at Dow ( while it was the biggest chemical conglomerate in the world and likely the period Eden started working with them) for 13+ years then Corteva for the 2 years during the time when Sean Smith talked of Eden Shifting gears and positioning Eden to be amongst the leaders in our industry along with short order Lykele mentioning collaborations with Big Ag all the while Sipcam are evaluating SustainE and taking strategic positions.. This same fella then goes to work for Sipcam in Latin America. Coincidence no doubt.

We help Chief Executives, boards and senior leadership teams to make sense of this complexity, devising communications strategies that support corporate objectives and enable organisations to take a stake in the conversations that drive public perceptions."

Narrative Building "That will resonate with their most important audiences"
Video and Animation "Brings our clients businesses to life"

Let us hope Eden has given Hawthorn a proper remit this time and that Hawthorn can deliver on some of their own statements from their website, for both Eden and its shareholders.

I think as a starter, assuming they have a proper remit, they should determine who Eden's most important audience is today, who will listen, who will act and buy into the Eden story. As time travels, so will Eden's audience and it will change, but for now, they must decide who Eden's audience is and to me, that is pretty obvious.

You could be right but just because one says PRE and the other says Post does not mean Eastman would be advising use in series or conjunction with each other (for reasons I mentioned previously), it just denotes the period of use.

Your original post made an statement you could not back up with company guidance and your PRE/PRO point keeps you in that position imo. When you make derogatory statements about others it's useful to have details that back it up. You unfortunately don't, so were all sadly none the wiser which is a shame as broadening our understanding on the Cedroz application regime would be of interest.

supersonico/Investingisatrickygame,

With regard to your post 7372; if you do look at the Eastman links that I gave and the information therein, it is obvious that if Cedroz is a post-planting nematicide and Metam is a pre-planting nematicide, then the two would be used one after the other as prescribed and when necessary.

Not incompetent at all imo Corteva Seed treatment equivalent for Soy/Cotton on it's way.. Approvals for Cedroz/Mev are managed and coming. My guess is the Formulation Tweaks that have held up TT/CAP etal will materialise in the coming short Order and Eugene in the warehouse will be happy and perhaps we'll even get a few Xinova surprises along the way.

The good luck wishes are genuine and it will be great if Eden succeed, and I’ll invest again if that looks likely.

Also I’ve no agenda and nothing against you either as I know from personal experience that you are very kind and caring too. But I don’t allow whether I like or dislike someone affect my investment judgement. I loathe a key critic of Eden and similar shares, and find his personal attacks despicable. BUT though drawing the line at subscribing to his site, it has to be accepted that he seems able to recognise rogue and overhyped Companies.

My criticism is entirely from an investment angle where I think you’ll agree we are miles apart. My focus is far more on revenues, profits, profit margins, cash flow etc and far less in getting encyclopaedic knowledge about the Companies I choose to invest in. Knowing so much about what the Company does or has is pointless if that Company can’t sell it, and so has no revenues let alone profits or generating cash. I subscribe to Stockopedia (Sharescope is also very good) for detailed info on every share. Things have changed a lot in recent years, and there is a wealth of quality info available to private investors to take advantage of. Yet some are still using investment methods that are dated, and seem never to learn from mistakes and so repeat them. Hence the risk of ending up with 100% losses on shares like ENRT (scored 0 out of 100 on Stockopedia, as did another big failure BNN and EDEN also 0 for a time).

You’ve posted with great conviction about shares like Eden and ENRT and similar shares as well as shares like Carillion and because of your exceptional knowledge and obvious intelligence, have persuaded others with far less knowledge and experience to invest too.

My attitude is to welcome critics of my own posts and to encourage others to counter my enthusiasm. You and other fans of shares like Eden seem more reluctant to accept being challenged and sometimes advise the critical poster to sell and go away. There are 2 sides to every share, and respect and welcome for contrary views enable those with more limited investment skills to make more balanced judgements too, and with less risk of them getting sucked in to investing far more than they can afford to lose on risky shares like Eden and ENRT, and JAY too.

And yes, we are all responsible for our own investment decisions, but it’s a simple fact that some rely on bb posts mainly for their investment decisions. They shouldn’t but if having very little understanding of how to invest the temptation to do that is obvious. Hence my preference for apologising when getting it wrong, rather than saying nothing at all, or telling people it was their decision so implicitly their fault.

Finally I am 100% certain that you are totally genuine and post in good faith and always post with the best of intentions.

So yes good luck and best wishes, and please EDEN reward you and other so patient fans soon!
