Morning Super,

"Cedroz, Mevalone, Sustaine and the Crop protection vertical can be the only reason one would invest in Eden."

I think I have posted something similar recently. Eden needs to out this value so that the share price can race north to a more representative level. Nothing else matters really, certainly not in my book. Sentiment, trust and a whole lot of others things directly related to price can only be positively gained with this visibility and delivery.

The release of the forecast should escalate this.

Cedroz , Mevalone, Sustaine and the Crop protection vertical can be the only reason one would invest in Eden.

TT and Bayer will let us down until they don't. It appears that both are afflicted by the same dans les mois à venir issue. I expect a revelation moment.. but these two players have recidivist punctuality issues and can't be relied on to open up for the paperboys until the Casio est réparé.

Some Things don't always go the way one intended.

Chris makes a good point: if Eden fails to justify shareholders trust in it, it won't be because if the size of the opportunities. We need to know more about what they are doing with what they have, and why we should believe them.

That said, I have continued to believe that the most significant indicator of value is the gradient at which revenues will begin to accelerate. In this respect we do need to be patient, as mevalone appears to be growing well, and still has many significant additional geographies to cover. Then of course we have Cedroz...

Chrischas,

I am an observer, a sleuth, I trust my intuition, I'm judgmental, I see patterns and I research to build a picture for myself. Its a game of risk and I endeavour to understand the odds based on the jigsaw pieces I find and how they match what the BOD are saying.

I'm not here to be effective, I'm here to get in before the herd so I can spend time on the beach and more time eating Egg Mayonnaise sandwiches in the shade of peaceful woodland canopies on summer afternoons.

or Not if I'm wrong.

Chrischas,

TBF, I think Supersonico is researching and looking for answers. The reason he/she is doing this is because the Company, Eden and its executives are not providing it to him/her and everyone else.

Typically what appears to happen in these situations is that investors voice their discontent on bulletin boards as they have nowhere else to do so. As a result, when this gains momentum, it becomes the face & image of the Company because the Company does correct any misgivings or deliver said information. That then shapes people's opinions, they turn negative, sell shares and the price goes down.

Only the BoD can correct this and understand where and why this is happening. That forecast that is being prepared coupled with a long overdue RNS or two confirming once and for all, commercial agreements and product sales to begin in...may reassure investors that Eden is now on track. This should then help to correct what I believe to be a massively undervalued company as measured by our current share price.

Supersónico:

You have been disclosing a lot of facts about why investors could or should invest in bio chemicals. I think you have done your job over the years.
I fail to see how though, it is effective regarding Edens’ shares and positioning that what you say makes a difference.

I hold quite a few shares but I am afraid I don’t have any confidence in the Board. They should be rolling up their sleeves and talking to the ultimate of their products.I see nothing of that.Every comfortable director on that board should be competent and mixing on a weekly basis with their customers. This is not happening

Eating GM maize sprayed with Roundup increased death rate – study

Male rats fed GM maize sprayed with Roundup died prematurely in EU-funded study – results were covered up
An EU-funded long-term rat feeding study found that males fed Monsanto’s GM Roundup-tolerant maize NK603 sprayed with the herbicide were significantly more likely to die before the end of the two-year experiment than males fed non-GM maize.

The results section of the paper reporting the results of the G-TwYST study states, "The mortality rate of the male rats fed the 33% NK603 + Roundup diet was significantly higher than that of the corresponding control group" fed non-GM maize."

However, the authors buried this finding in the detail of the study. They failed to make any mention of it whatsoever in the abstract. The abstract only states – falsely – that "no adverse effects related to the feeding of the NK603 maize cultivated with or without Roundup for up to 2 years were observed".

Exposure to weed killing products increases risk of cancer by 41% – study

'The evidence “supports a compelling link” between exposures to glyphosate-based herbicides and increased risk for non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL), the authors concluded, though they said the specific numerical risk estimates should be interpreted with caution'.

'Sheppard was one of the scientific advisers to the EPA on glyphosate and was among a group of those advisers who told the EPA that it failed to follow proper scientific protocols in determining that glyphosate was not likely to cause cancer. “It was wrong,” Sheppard said of the EPA glyphosate assessment. “It was pretty obvious they didn’t follow their own rules. “Is there evidence that it is carcinogenic? The answer is yes.”

Always interesting to watch people who have been wrong for years, who's every prediction has capsized so now they've wisely stopped making predictions to save the blushes. They refuse to see Cedroz or Sumitomo or read the Front page headlines broadcast around the world like 'Agricultural practices lead insects to a massive disappearance' but still expect to be taken seriously.

From the above:

"One of the biggest markets for crop protection companies will be biopesticides, a category that includes naturally occurring substances such as biochemical pesticides, microbial pesticides (also known as biocontrol agents), and pesticide-related substances produced by plants. These products pose fewer environmental risks than conventional chemicals, because they are either nonpolluting or break down quickly and can be effective in very small quantities.

The global biopesticides market is slated to grow at a CAGR of 15.3% from 2016 through 2022, reaching sales of $6.6 billion. That expansion is anticipated to outpace the growth of the chemical pesticides market and continue doing so over the longer term. Although the North American biopesticides market is the most lucrative, the EU market is expected to be the fastest-growing over the next few years, as it implements stringent policies and regulations on pesticide use and the demand grows for organic products in that region. Still, all biopesticides need to be tested and evaluated, as they are not necessarily naturally beneficial."

Sustainable farming is getting a new lease on life. The deterioration of the environment and the depletion of resources—both of which are already limiting the amount of food produced by the world’s farmlands—are motivating regulators, consumers, food companies, and farmers to compel agricultural companies to adopt sustainable methods and processes. Despite companies’ lingering complacency, these stakeholders are driving a transformation that seemed impossible only a few years ago.

Has this ecofective anything to do with eden’s Technology?Seems to me as if Sipcam’s alliances are designed to dive into the Biocontrol market.
It presents the question how?Would Mevalone develop sales if Sipcam has their own in house created products .Or are they taking it on while they develop their own (much more profitable products?
Do Eden know every thing that Sipcam labs has found out?Did Sipcam know ,before their recent presentation that the Israelis products were also in the mix? Will Eden know the sales of Sipcams other competing products. It almost looks like a building of a monopoly position?

Import extra EU: too much tolerance on pesticide residues.

86% of consumers in the EU are worried about the presence of chemical residues in food. According to Efsa, 4.7% of products from non-EU countries contained an irregular quantity of chemical residues, compared to the EU average of 1.2% and only 0.4% of Italy.

On the subject of food safety referring in particular to chemical contamination, the European Court of Auditors - Eca - has just published a report aimed at examining how and how the EU system of rules and controls protects citizens. Result: even if founded on a solid basis, this system is currently under strong pressure and has some critical issues. First of all linked to the fact that neither the European Commission nor the Member States have the capacity to apply it in full. For example, in some Member States, the regulatory framework is so extensive that public control bodies are not able to fulfill all requirements and should be complemented by a private sector control system.

Closely related to the effectiveness of the controls is then the theme of food imported from non-EU countries. In Europe we import 13% of the products we consume, a percentage equal to 93 million tons in 2016: the key principle that regulates circulation on the EU market is that all products must comply with European legislation, regardless of their origin, and comply with EU safety standards.

Risk and danger.

But often a mechanism known as "import tolerance" comes into play and the slippery distinction between risk and danger.
The current legal framework of the EU distinguishes between risk-based criteria and hazard-based criteria. Pesticides which, based on the hazard-based exclusion criteria are not eligible, can not be marketed or used in the EU. But according to the rules of the WTO the importing countries can not use only criteria based on the dangers to exclude potential imports; therefore the residues of these substances could be tolerated in products imported into the EU. Provided that the Efsa gives green light on the basis of an assessment no longer on the risk but on the risk, a concept much more random and interpretable in many ways.

"A designated member state - writes Eca in the report - evaluates first of all the request and documentation sent by the non-EU country. Based on the assessment of the Member State, EFSA then expresses an opinion. If this opinion is favorable and establishes that consumer safety is not at risk, the Commission can decide to recognize the tolerance to the country of importation requested and to modify the EU regulatory framework to meet the needs of that country, for example by establishing a specific limit of residues for the EU. "

Stop tolerance on pesticide residues
If the objective is to increase food safety in consumers, the only way is to eliminate tolerances for certain pesticide residues of imported products. In Europe, according to a report by Coldiretti on data from the Rapid Alert System, in the first nine months of 2018 there were 2,654 food alarms, almost 10 per day. 60% of these referred to products of non-Community origin. The greatest dangers involved the presence of pathogenic micro-organisms, micro-toxins, pesticide residues, heavy metal contamination or the presence of foreign or unauthorized bodies. In practice, non-EU products are 4 times more dangerous than community products and 12 times more dangerous than those made in Italy.

According to analyzes conducted by EFSA on the presence of pesticides in agri-food products sold in Europe 4.7% of products from non-EU countries contained an irregular quantity of chemical residues, compared to the EU average of 1.2% and to just 0.4% of Italy.

Waterhemp Scores Again
Illinois Scientists Find New Resistance in Waterhemp

DECATUR, Ill. (DTN) -- Waterhemp has just thumbed its nose at another group of herbicides.
Waterhemp resistant to Group 15 herbicides (very long chain fatty acid inhibitors) has officially been found in Illinois research plots. It is the first dicot (broadleaf) weed in the world to outmaneuver herbicides within the Group 15 chemical family. While scientists aren't sure how widespread the issue is, University of Illinois weed scientist Aaron Hager said the discovery is yet another warning to change weed management behaviors now.

What makes this discovery unique is the Group 15 herbicides have been fairly resilient. Worldwide, there are only five cases of grass weeds that have been confirmed resistant to very long chain fatty acid inhibitor (Group 15) herbicides. Most of those cases are in wheat and rice. The only confirmed Group 15 resistance in the United States had been in monocot (grass) in Idaho, Washington and Oregon.

The Illinois discovery is the first confirmed case in the world in a dicot (broadleaf) weed species and the first case of Group 15 resistance known associated with corn and soybean production, according to the International Survey of Herbicide Resistance (www.weedscience.org).

"unique technology"

"Eden's proven addressable market is $1.2 billion"

AND from the 30th June 2017 RNS

"Grants Sipcam the right to evaluate a number of Sipcam-Oxon Group's active substances encapsulated using Eden's Sustaine microencapsulation technology. This includes combinations with Eden's own active ingredients."

We haven't heard the results of this yet and it is a potential massive game changer, Xinova agree as previously posted.

Eden is well placed. If not Sumitomo then there will another large industry player sniffing around Eden for the benefits of the above.

You could be right littlealbatross2 but it also is a signal like Sofbey imo that indicates Sipcam and Sumitomo see growth in the biopesticide market and their ambitions and innovation is all directed to that end.

It is a growing cake which many big players will want large pieces of going forward to replace the conventional chunk that's under growing scrutiny and regulatory pressure.

Competition makes the market and that means many see it has a future.
