Options sold... multiple choice. Why O Why???

1. AA needed £4k and naively.. because he's new to this game.. underestimated the impact of the CFO selling on the fragile but climbing low volume share price

2. Our Stake builder was huffing about the price, having to pay 17p was not gentleman's cricket so action was taken to stifle that rise by selling options but keeping a few so the defence could say he's increased his stake.. it's all a slightly silly kerfuffle ..just an innocent misunderstanding.

3. A placing is coming to let another strategic investor in who will like Sipcam before them aid them in developing the technology and distribute it into the non agricultural 'pipeline' areas in order to accelerate progress in those technologies.

4. 2 and 3 birds with one stone.

5. Non of the above.

However you consider events, the reality is as I type that £3.5 million has been wiped off of Eden's market cap as a direct result of that action, not an inconsiderable percentage given Eden's lowly capitalisation.

MW..do you really think AA 'has behaved perfectly properly and reasonably'.

The only way to respond to this is with nutty 'out of hand' conspiracy theories as every other view of AA action is depressing and makes little sense.

If no directors are ever allowed to sell any shares in the firm they are a director of, then they won't want to ever hold any.... it's his own business really, let's stop picking at it

Investing,

If my Nutty conspiracy theory is right then the sale was to let the stake builder accumulate more. She was struggling to keep momentum and huffing about having to pay a premium at 17p then helpfully AA comes along and resets the price 10% lower and frees up some weak hands.

If Alex had waited then it would be disjointed from his options date and would be far more damaging to Eden and his own shareholding. It already looks short sighted to the non conspiracy theorist nutty observer but 4 weeks down the line even a walnut like me would be nut scratching.

all IMNO

Of course he could have decided to by SEE shares with the proceeds as the Euro-NCAP 2020 guidelines are due to be announced on 16/5/18 and it is expected that they will only recommend 5 star ratings for cars with Driver Monitoring tech, a market in which SEE leads the pack.

I recommended SEE as a buy at 5p now it's touching 7p. When Euro NCAP release new vehicle safety guidelines and driver monitoring becomes mandatory then were of to the races..

Super,

the AGM is what, 6 weeks away. If anticipated news is in front of us, surely Alex could have held on for 4 weeks and increased the money from his options to give his kids better clothes! I know that sounds harsh, but with good news around the corner, why worry shareholders (which clearly from today's share price action he has done): why not just wait a few more weeks and not, as he has done, upset the apple cart.

I wonder what the institutions think, both those invested and those they have approached? In my opinion, it will just look like poor form!

For me it is all about the message you send and the opinion that creates. He has sent the wrong message and the opinion of some in the absence of any band aid commentary is to lose faith in the Directors and sell

The directors are free to buy or sell as they choose. Their private cash flow needs are their own affair. I have seen this in another firm where they talked down their own stock and it later became apparent that their future share options were being priced right then. If that were the motive, that would be annoying, but it is entirely possible. The loss on future gains from the sale would be less than the future profit from directors' share options being priced at say 11th may market price, for this to be rational (albeit immoral) behaviour. I also several times saw CEOs wildly hype their stock at an investor event right before their share options matured and they sold into the high they had created. Not a very morally SOUnd ploy. In this case, nobody will care in a week's time, enduring effect on share price nothing.

Investing,
Always good to have some more directors buying.

Another observation;

Why would AA stir things up close to an AGM where the farmers and their pitchforks can coalesce in a Massey chorus...why do that to yourself ??......

..Unless anticipated news in the interim will quell those farm hands tempers.

Super,

"I certainly don't see AA taking actions that would damage the company. He has a the most shares of any director and his name on a shed load of Eden's patents."

Do you think Sean and Lykele will join Alex and either match his holding or go someway towards it? Neither has purchased a share yet and to be fair, Sean has been in situ for some while.

Super,

I think the solutions and the tech are great. Clearly they work, are sought by global players and satisfy global problems.

However, there is a disconnect between operational progression, hopefully soon excellence and share price maintenance. For me, the Company does not pay enough attention to this and give it the same respect as they do say, Sipcam. It is lazy in my opinion to say share price value will out when the P&L goes positive. Each Company has a duty to its shareholders. Progressive operational success is one, share price fair value in a listed Plc sits at par value and responsibility as operations.

If in this instance Eden and their advisers think 13-14p is fair reflective value of operational success today, I'll shut up.

If they don't, then they need to mitigate downsides and establish the upside so that they really are aligned with us.

If the shares are worth, for example, 30p today, tell us this is the case and underpin it with the reasons why. In doing so, they will build trust with the market and firm up shareholder/Company relations. The market will then buy Eden appropriately.

My guess is Eden is very undervalued, the Company probably knows it and if so, they should seek to communicate the same and rectify the gap.

They recognised the problem with their operational royalty model and changed it. The same is required here.

Taking my reasoning further could it be argued that AA action is an indicator signal that news is close and the Stake builder needs to stuff her face before news drops?

Super, how do you come to that conclusion?

As I see it Mr Abrey's actions only make sense to me if he actually wanted the share price to drop for some reason.

The £4000 profit made from the options sale does not in any way make up for his loses on his 1,038,160 shares held.

Our stake builder had to spend 17p a few days ago to satisfy her appetite.

So I expect some Mopping up later.

The sale is annoying but given that Alex will be due some performance payments as part of the recently announced LTIP one might assume that he has little concern that his actions will have any negative impact on the share price

No doubt anyone wishing to sell will find our hungry stake building Sally gratefully receptive.

With all due respect, companies lend executives money frequently. Equally, when your grossing a quarter of a million pounds, kids or no kids, this sell isn't warranted vis a vis the Company's reputation, that of its executives and I'm confident the City will look on this poorly, let alone us little PI's.

As for Shore Capital, what are they there for if not to advise Alex not to sell, for him, a relatively paltry sum of shares. Eden is a Plc and should act like one in a circumstance such as this.

So someone recently bought 200,000 @ 17 pence

The FD who is on considerable money including bonuses sells 115,000 shares (thus increasing his holding by 10,000 shares)

This communicates TOTALLY THE WRONG MESSAGE from of all people, the guy who runs the numbers. He knows what their internal forecast sales are and he has two global players on board. Lets remind ourselves of Company comment

Mr Chairman - We are at an inflexion point

Mr CEO - We are 'very far advanced' with Sipcam and encapsulating their 20 active ingredients

Mr CEO - We are close to appointing someone as a distributor for Mevalone in the US

Company - Bayer will contribute to revenue in 2018, Terpene Tech is close

WHY DID THE COMPANY NOT ADOPT COMMON POLICY and simply loan Alex the money so that he could retain his shares.

The Company has royally messed up and totally undone the recent goodwill.

I suggest the CEO and Chairman buy a big chunk of shares, immediately in the open market to set the right tone about the prospects of Eden.

I hope they can RNS big news ASAP to underline the Company's position
