Resistance issues and products falling short of growers expectations. A conventional chemistry industry statement I keep reading.

What they often fail to mention is the growing evidence that they all destroy the vital bacteria in the soil and gut biome . Deafening silence on that one strangely enough..

OmniLytics, Certis USA develop new bacterial control products

Jim Black, director of business development for Certis USA, LLC said, “We are excited to work with OmniLytics. The AgriPhage line of crop protection products is novel and innovative. Plus it allows for the protection of crops in areas where existing treatments are starting to fail due to bacterial resistance and the results are falling short of grower expectations. Certis USA offers growers a suite of bacterial control products that can be integrated with the AgriPhage line to maximize protection from these difficult-to-control pathogens.”

Eden fails to expand upon developments and therefore value (in my opinion) is not truly understood, but guesses and estimations are made by some. I think there is insufficient interest and awareness as a whole in 'the market' for the fear of a placing to hold back the share price. I think it is more that the positives are not sufficiently understood and are not translated into value. That suggestion is yet to be proven wrong as Eden has not as yet, given the market a benchmark of value. It just continues to say it is progressing well when no one know what 'well' looks like or what well is worth

Super

If for example, Bayer were to become that partner then fine, so long as the transaction is done at fair value. If Eden were to place with Bayer, shares within a 10-20 % tolerance of todays price then Eden would be telling the market that either a) They don't know the value which is inconceivable or b) they do and its 14-16p which would make a mockery of corporate commentary this last year.

If however, Bayer were to pay 30-50p for their stake and that was at value or say a 10% discount to fair value, then in my opinion, that would likely be good business, providing Bayer came in as a driver of the business and not a passive owner. The 30-50p is illustrative only, as it could be 50-75p or 75p-£1.

I'm sure Eden would not want to find themselves selling a portion of the Company on the cheap. That corporate image and transaction would be unforgivable and would deliver distrust and no credibility City side, if it were needed thereafter.

All of that aside, Eden has stated they are at an inflexion point (to the positive), have made 'significant commercial progress' and their goal is to be 'the leader in sustainable bioactive products enabled or enhanced by our novel encapsulation and delivery technologies'. SOURCE:hxxp://www.edenresearch.com/investors/investment-case

So either they get taken out and someone else fulfils this mantra OR they believe they have the leverage to deliver this using Sustaine because without Sustaine (as per their statement), it doesn't happen because product and their tech is intrinsically linked.

THIS IS WHY the pending Sipcam statement of the 20 active products is material to the share price and this goal, right now. It is also material to the future potential of Eden, as well as the possibility of being taken out.

The recent clumsy incongruence of our CFO suggests to me a placing at or above current price is coming. I expect a strategic Partner investor announcement along with it.

Wouldn't all this additional work require funding? If Revenues are static for one reason or another than surely eden would have to raise money by placing new shares in the market. Isn't this what the market is fearing now- that the Co will raise money on or before the Agm? What else is stopping the value of the Co from rising especially since it is at an inflexion point (Chairman's words)

Super,

That sounds logical doesn't it. I wonder about Eden's Corporate strategy and intent and also their strategy on Sustaine?

1) One scenario might be to expand their partnership with Sipcam and work together to a) extend the patent life of existing chemistry's for a variery of companies and make them less toxic and therefore more acceptable, b) have Sipcam as the registered/acknowledged seller/licensee of Sustaine on a case by case basis

2) Bring in another strategic partner or similar that would ultimately work with both Eden and Sipcam to enlarge the Company more quickly and give it greater protection against predators (even other predators if the existing party(s) is/are

3) Whether a Company such as Bayer would see the tech and the natural solutions and other patents for what they are and buy Eden for what it is now. Eden may then exist as an R & D division with a large commercial organisation which would ultimately commercialise Eden tech and developed formulations much quicker and more successfully. Such a scenario could take Sipcam out of the picture OR Sipcam could be the party to develop other revenues outside of the main organisation and their use of the same e.g. would Bayer as the example prefer to focus on the use of sustaine and natural solutions for Crop Science and animal health only.

I imagine Eden has choices or will when that Sipcam 'very far advanced' encapsulation deal is done. If they have a clear identity for Eden post the same and have something else to illustrate and confirm that path, then Eden's fortunes and ours could be transformed overnight if communicated properly and to the right audience.

Bayer could do with a good image message post the Monsanto purchase as Carey Gillam is now directing her messages at Bayer as the now owner of RoundUp

A relationship has been established with Bayer in the Animal Health care contract and now we see big hitter Lykele van der Broek rolling in as Chair announcing the garden is very Rosy, with Sean Smith telling us he expects his Parsnips to be Exhibition Show Veg quality.

Eden IP including it's high potency micro particle has huge potential... too big for a company like Bayer who operate in multiple industries to ignore or let the competition get their hands on.

My confirmation bias compass suggests to me Bayer are going to play a bigger role in Edens future than just animal Health.

All Guess work and ramping on my part.

...as usual.

"Bayer is conducting research to better understand mode of action and to understand crop response to biological products".

I wonder if those 9 products and Eden are involved in this "research"?

Spanish Mildew News;

Oídio of the vine, detected shoots in the variety mazuelo. How to fight it?

First buds of powdery mildew of the vine. We have detected them in Rioja Baja vineyards, in the Elvillar and Pradejón area.
These samples of grape mildew have been detected in vineyards with the Majuelo grape variety, which is more prone to suffer from this type of infection. Therefore the alarm should not spread, but it is important to watch out.
The hawthorn variety is more sensitive to attack by powdery mildew than the other varieties grown in Rioja
As general advice and above all due to the high humidity of this year, it is important to maximize the surveillance and carry out the cultural and phytosanitary treatments against the fungi of powdery mildew and mildew in Rioja vineyards.

Rioja Baja is a sub-region of the Rioja wine region in northern Spain. It forms the largest portion of the region, and accounts for 40% of its wine output.

Ag companies commit to the promising rise of biologicals

Denise Manker, director of global agronomic development, biologicals at Bayer CropScience in Davis, Calif., said Bayer and other major ag chemical companies are committed to the growth of biostimulants, biological pesticides and other biologically-based crop protection products.

“Every major agricultural chemical company has embraced biological pesticides,” Manker told the symposium. “The belief of the industry is that this is contributing to the industry as a whole. It is important to have investment in this area. This is true for both biopesticides and biostimulants.”

The Biological Products Industry Association wants to communicate the value of biostimulants and promotes industry standards for biostimulant products. “We want to be working with regulatory agencies and be the leading source of information for these types of products,” she said.

Bayer is conducting research to better understand mode of action and to understand crop response to biological products. “We want to understand the science. We want to be able to communicate what the attributes are and give our customers a reproducible response that they can rely on,” she said.

Apples/ Sipcam Trials post harvest Treatment..what's happening?

Is the Wheat/soybean/ Cotton statement a reference to replacing the current Glyphosate formulation ingredients with the Micro particle tech and therefore Reducing harm?

I there any work by Sipcam on a Glyphosate replacement using essential oils.?

Sipcam Update.. how much down the 'very far advanced' road to go ? What proportion of Sipcam catalogue will contain Eden Tech? and is their a PR event/ promotion to announce new improved formulation etc..?

Update on Mevalone USA/ Australia/ UK

Update on Cedroz.. Is Eastman struggling to recruit for Cedroz rollout

What industry are Eden going to be among the leaders in?

Why not raise funds to accelerate R&d opportunities given the multiple commercial substances listed in the Micro-particle patent.

...Or are their Pipeline..Strategic Partners keen to engage with Eden on this?

Moluscs.

Super,

Where is your list of questions? I'll start with a few and anyone can add to the list keeping one single list. This is in no particular order

1) What is the BoD going to do to increase liquidity in Eden's share trading?
2) Might the Chairman brief us on his contribution this first half year and what if any role, is he playing in our negotiations, discussions and relationship with Bayer?
3) Two years ago, Eden in a Powerpoint sited 9 Bayer products coming off patent in their crop science division. What if any role is Eden playing or seeking to play in the continuation of these Bayer patents, possibly with the help of Eden's tech, Sustaine?
4) What is the up-to-date situation with Sipcam and those 20 active commercial ingredients being encapsulated in Sustaine. The Company mentioned some 8 weeks ago that this is 'very far advanced'. Will any regulatory approvals be required as a result of Sustaine involvement?
5)What is the BoD's opinion on a declining and then static share price over the last two years vis-a vis the 'significant commercial progress' the Company has stated that it has made
6) What will BoD do differently in the immediate term to better align share price and Company value that they haven't done in the past?
7) How many litres of Mevalone has Eden shipped thus far for the 2018 season to Eden's partners and what is the purchase cycle throughout a calendar year?
8) Given all the recent bad press about Glyphosate, is there not a major PR opportunity for Eden to highlight its 'natural solution' credentials among the journalistic community. If so, why doesn't Eden and Powerscourt organise an hour or two to present the same to as many as possible in one go?
9) What is the lead time for Cedroz given the logistics of 29 countries and when does Eden expect first deliveries of Cedroz to Eastman to occur?
10) Terpene Tech is now late as this was said to occur in the first half of 2018. Can the board give us a comprehensive update on what has gone wrong/why the delay and what is the now realistic timeframe for selling product to the same and in what territories?

There is a start. See what you can add that has specific relevance and semi immediate drivers today to our share price. Anything longer term and more strategic will be in their presentation anyway.

Chris Packham warns of 'ecological apocalypse' in Britain

He’s currently enjoying a great bounty of nature, from tree-climbing slugs to blackbird-gobbling little owls on this year’s Springwatch, but Chris Packham warns that we are presiding over “an ecological apocalypse” and Britain is increasingly “a green and unpleasant land”.
The naturalist and broadcaster is urging people to join him next month on a 10-day “bioblitz”, visiting road verges, farmland, parks, allotments and community nature reserves across the country to record what wildlife remains – from butterflies to bryophytes, linnets to lichens.

According to Packham, British people have normalised a “national catastrophe” and only see a wealth of wildlife in nature reserves, with the wider countryside bereft of life.

Alternative methods in plant protection.

Over the past ten years, the societal and legislative context has changed significantly with a central focus on the environment and taking into account the impact of human activities on our ecosystem. Agricultural production, both ornamental and food, do not escape the new challenges of limiting pollution. The horticultural and landscape sector is proactive in this new context both at the request of the public authorities and the professionals themselves. Framework Directive on water, "pesticides package", Ecophyto plan, future law for agriculture, Loi Labbé, Biodiversity and Energy Transition Act, are all frameworks that involve research and development of solutions alternatives to pesticides for producers and managers of green spaces.
ASTREDHOR has been interested for more than 20 years in developing optimal solutions for the use of bio-aggressor control products. Rather than the systematic eradication of problems, the proposed solutions are based on the management of equilibrium between pests, diseases and cultivators. If the objective of preserving the environment and better safety of the applicator are the fundamentals of these new technical and technological options, their implementation implies a profound and lasting change in the practices proposed by the work of the experimental stations. of the Institute.
Aware of this important issue, ASTREDHOR has decided to place the year 2018 under the sign of alternative methods in plant protection. Indeed, the Technical Institute wishes to propose, through a thematic information campaign, technical and technological insights to professionals of horticulture and landscape in a context of reduction or ban of the use of pesticides. This ASTREDHOR information campaign is at the heart of its strategy of transferring and disseminating the results of the research and innovation programs conducted in recent years, and provides information on ongoing work and prospects. research related to this theme.

The Institute publishes in particular the technical guide Alternative methods in plant protection for horticulture and landscape in June 2018: a valuable tool to take stock of the latest advances of the Institute concerning plant diseases, growth regulators , protection against pests, control of weeds and alternatives to chemical weed control or the regulation of biocontrol products and decision support tools ...

As part of this information campaign, this special issue of Horticultural Reference offers a bibliographic compilation of technical references on alternative methods in plant protection. It allows horticulturists and landscapers to deepen their knowledge on the subject.

Downy mildew alert in the Southwest France

Vines in Lot-et-Garonne: alert on mildew

With rain, the mushroom could show the tip of his nose.
"These episodes of rain and heat are ideal for the contamination of the vine by mildew, it is a major risk. "
Fabien Tarascon, president of the organization of defense and management of Côtes du Marmandais, remains on the lookout. For the moment, the vineyards of the territory have not shown signs of the devastating mushroom. But this one could show the tip of his nose.

A cycle of eight days
"The cycle of late blight is about eight days. And it's just eight days since it's raining every day in Marmandais. In organic, if the spray treatment on the vine Bordeaux mixture is effective, its effectiveness is limited by the recurring showers that "wash" the flowers and leaves... we should have a window of two days to deal effectively, "he says.
In non-organic agriculture, so-called systemic products should be more effective. "As long as you can access the plots to treat," says the winemaker.
In terms of flowering, things are rather reassuring. "It is especially necessary to avoid the temperature surges, which is the case these last days. We should be fixed within ten to fifteen days. "
