Gil has 'form' in this respect in his (mis)handling of the heavy oil news at Jethro.

I thought that the Lundin involvement might have raised standards a bit. GH's and KH's performances make me wonder if that was a safe assumption.

Yeah :) when it went to 35p from nothing .. I remember trading them .. they are still about but never done anything as good since to my knowledge:)

If Gil was being honest when he said all is going to plan then maybe the 20 day delay is sidetrack drilling but Keith Hill did not want to say that, in fact he couldn't could he.

In all honesty, it sounds like they may have encountered problems down the hole. That said, it could also be construed as they need to drill more to know what's down there (not necessarily bad). Either way, really not good of KH to be commenting at this stage. It does look like his comments have caused some fright both here and Canada.

I've had a lingering nagging doubt about the small shift of position (about 35m) by the rig a few weeks ago. Surely they didn't respud..? ECO possibly need their wrists slapped - as does KH.

I must say I find it ridiculous that Africa Oil (just with shareholdings in some of the companies that are part of the drilling campaign) giving this official news and without a word from the operator Eco Atlantic! Cowboys!!!

Maybe a lot of people think the delay in news for a 20 -25 day drill has gone on too long without informing the market. If there really was a delay the company should have taken the initiative and told us, we should not have had it second or third hand

I'd be surprised if that's the case ... why would you have stops less than 10% on a company drilling for oil at a wildcat well ... surly your in this for the big gain or the 50% loss :) I know that's where I'm at :D

There has been a substantial rise in the last couple of weeks. Prudent professionals may well top slice and take some profits. Hopefully that is all we are seeing. It would be quite normal.
