14/8/2018 16:38 | Steelwatch: Nobody knows how the "formation damage?" was caused. There are many possibles. | ziblot
14/8/2018 10:00 | jh - not specifically, but it will depend on the individual outcomes of each future well. It will be a case of trying to avoid similar problems, i.e. formation damage (clogging of near wellbore porosity) and/or poor cement job (maybe). I wouldn't rule out acidisation specifically. | steelwatch
14/8/2018 09:01 | Thanks Steelwatch, in your opinion is this something that shouldnt be replicated in the next well ???? | john henry
14/8/2018 08:58 | JH - during the attempts to flowtest using the workover rig. | steelwatch
14/8/2018 01:33 | Excuse my ignorance Steelwatch, but when would Echo have performed the acid stimulation. Thanks | john henry
13/8/2018 17:04 | ziblot - the problem is "likely due to breakdown of cement behind the production casing during an acid stimulation designed to remove drilling formation damage", rather than with the steel casing. This may, or may not, be possible to remediate with a high pressure cement squeeze job. As things stand, they have managed to isolate the water below the top 8 metres and are considering whether it is worth hydraulically stimulating (fraccing) that zone. Whatever the outcome, they will have learned lessons for future drilling. | steelwatch
13/8/2018 15:43 | If folk had done a modicum of research it would be clear ;o) Further, they expected to stimulate these wells, common practice in the Austral basin. I wonder if the damaged well casing can be re-set an allow the livelier zone of additional pay to be opened up? Thoughts on that anyone? | knackers
13/8/2018 09:42 | The Tobífera is not your average 'run of the mill' reservoir. I thought that was clear to all. | ride daice
13/8/2018 09:25 | I just hope that ECHO are not going to do a PANR ! It's no good having potental oil/gas in the ground IF you cannot get it out of the ground. This was supposed to be an easy 'run of the mill' well to test and get into production. IF they cannot be successful in getting these type of wells online how are they going to get the deeper exploratory type wells to succeed! Does Not inspire confidence ! Pressure is now on them getting the next one right. Otherwise we are all Knackered . | red rook
13/8/2018 08:37 | Whilst a disappointing outcome far from a disaster. Still promising and if one of the four was to be less than stellar, I'd rather it 1004 ;o) Plenty still to go after. | knackers
13/8/2018 08:18 | FFS, just when you thought it was safe to swin in the water, and that you were safe in their hands. Just when you had started to uncup your hands from around your scrotum for protection, you get kicked in the goolies! Come on Fiona, squeeze into your tight leathers, put on your high heel pumps, oil that whip and start cracking those Argies ! WTF was the COO doing ? Fiddling with his pencil ! | red rook
13/8/2018 07:06 | 1004 not so good then guys. They havent given it up but it doesnt look promising long term. | coldspring
10/8/2018 13:46 | i did and they were all marked as sells. Plus it was pretty likely that there wasnt going to be any news this week | sporazene2
10/8/2018 13:14 | Peeps had every opportunity to load up on that expectation Wednesday & Thursday but chosen not to(?) | knackers
10/8/2018 12:42 | Technicals showing support @ 50 EMA next leg up ?? | john henry
10/8/2018 12:13 | i disagree knackers. to me this is clearly folks loading up on the expectation of news next week. basically a gamble on good news | sporazene2
10/8/2018 12:06 | Princess Fiona and the team will know what they have by now. No RNS this morning strongly suggest this is a commercial find. Next week should be fun. | knackers
10/8/2018 10:45 | Big buys flooding in. News coming | letmepass
10/8/2018 09:03 | Paradores, you really seem to have small man syndrome, why are you so irritable? So I didn't pick up the last bit of news, I based my comment on the interview I saw a few days before, but rather than be a mature adult about it you jump into keyboard warrior mode. You have some serious anger management issues. | gisjob2
10/8/2018 08:45 | "I reckon we're overdue news" gisjob2 Well I reckon we're not, and I reckon you should do a better job of managing your expectations. End of. | paradores
10/8/2018 08:23 | Paradores, chill out for goodness sake. When giving the original timings I'm sure the board were aware of what needed to be done. If not maybe the they should have consulted you being the fountain of all knowledge. | gisjob2
10/8/2018 08:16 | It's 3-4 weeks - for goodness sake DYOR. You have to allow at least 2-3 weeks for independent test readings to be taken, testing various choke sizes etc. This is also pure guidance as no 2 wells are ever the same. Further it's a Springhill/upper Tobifera play so need to get the set-up spot on so we're not under or over reading things. If good bodes well for this new play in the north of Fracion C. The Tobifera in Frac C is a new play concept. Untapped, overlooked and a potential game-changer ahead of Tapi Aike. | paradores |
