I'd expect another CS note following the t/s that we can expect this week or next. They intimated an update for the market in mid Jan in their AGM statement...unless there's any other news first...

I am not sure about when a takeover is likely to happen, but I was looking at these about a week ago when they were at about 15p. According to the house broker, Charles Stanley, we can expect eps for the year to June 2013 of 0.9p which put the company on a PER of between 16 and 17 for the current year against a 15p share price. That drops to 11.5 the following year with eps of 1.32p. It still looked cheap on fundamentals to me.

Now, for a company growing this year an historic per of 30 and a prospective PER of 20 would not be outrageous, which both point to about 27p in the second half of this year. Even without a takeover. Incidentally I have a shed load of these - its my biggest holding now - mostly acquired about a year ago.

Hi WC...no I'm holding v tightly to mine, as evident through my musings post-results.

I can't see a Moneyweek tip having such a pronounced effect. After all, they've been tipped in Techinvest and SCSW highlighted the potential in an issue last year. Today's rise was on top of the slow & steady appreciation of the share price since November 2012, indeed, since Investec took their 8% stake in the company.

What do others think of potential takeout price if a bid were forthcoming at this particular moment in DOTDs history?

Minimum I'd expect would be £55m valuation but looking at some other premiums I think they could fetch a valuation approaching £70m. Placing this in context, £55m would equate to 20p & £70m equates to 25.4p...a PER c. 25 which is conservative compared to the 31 x 2011 EPS estimate that their peer SmartFOCUS was taken out at in 2011.

Ah yes a Money week tip i see. My issue arrived late. But wouldnt be suprised if Glasshalfull is right and at some point this year this is taken out.

I no longer hold but perhaps i should re-look.

Agree steg. I'm hoping for a takeover later in the year, one prior to April could play havoc with my tax ;-)

I can't see any takeover lower £55m-£60m mark based on previous takeouts that you'll see in the header re. my investment write up in Feb 2012

Agree Glasshalfull. No news, no chatter, price moving strongly. Either chartists sniffing a run or someone is accumulating on the slow but steady sly.

One to watch and if I had any readies spare I would top my position. Sadly I don't but am holding a few and watching this move with interest.

Wonder what the catalyst is for this rise?
Thought they'd tread water until t/s in January.

I fully expect DOTD to be acquired in 2013...hmmm, I wonder?
