20/7/2017 22:31 | Miton's AUM is over £3bn, they don't need to sell to invest in other small caps. I am baffled by their decision to sell couple of millions of Distil's shares for less than £60k. £60k is small change for asset management company like Miton. They still hold sizeable distil's shares. I hope they sell rest of Distil's shares before USA deal, I will be waiting. | acdc52
20/7/2017 20:31 | Milton Friedman? | dan_the_epic
20/7/2017 18:25 | Milton probably wanted the profit skim to reinvest in a new microcap company, that's their modus operandi. The fact they still have a big holding says more about their view of future potential than the profit skim ever will. | haggismchaggis
20/7/2017 18:08 | acdc, nothing wrong with a top slice, especially when you're left with a holding that's 'free' or 'nearly free'. | haggismchaggis
20/7/2017 17:56 | Currently, Distil is at 16th position in Miton's portfolio. Somebody at Miton miscalculated and shed some of it's Distil's shares via BONY on 18/7/17. Big mistake. Wait for news about deal with leading USA distributor. Revenue this year should reach £3m+ and net profit 100k+ | acdc52

18/7/2017 09:59 | Short term of intraday, daily, or even a weeks worth of share price movement is not the way to look at DIS. Think months or a year for the decent profit levels. I don't give a Fig if it drops one day or even three, because longer term it will still be higher than it was before that dip. Drops are to buy on, DIS is a profitable company that's got fast growing products and is expanding into big markets. | haggismchaggis
17/7/2017 22:23 | Thanks Multi, appreciate you taking the time to post. I've done quite a bit of reading. I'm working my way through The Zulu Principle at the moment. Most of my recent reading has been along Value Investing / GARP shares as I've been building my pension pot. I've done well enough over the last 12 months to allow me to put a portion of the pot towards trading (and having the odd gamble!).Thanks for the recommendation. I will check out that book as it sounds interesting and will help with the trading side of things. I had a level 2 subscription on sharepad and liked the layout there too. Just need to see some examples of how it's used to time trades. | villarich
17/7/2017 18:14 | You are most welcome Villarich - the "cut and paste" in my post makes Level 2 appear more complicated than it actually is - the layout of the Level 2 that I use from Mon...am website on a subscription basis is very straight forward. As mentioned before, I do not particularly use Level 2 to time trades, but many do. To me it adds another input/dimension to stock trading. While you are looking at courses - may I suggest that you consider learning the basics of Candlesticks ? as coupled with volume and price action this is a pretty good timing tool and helps identify trends and when the market is set to turn. Anna Coulling's book Volume Price Analysis is a very good read and pretty cheap - well worth investing in. It also sheds an insight into how the market works and how sentiment is driven....I keep going back to it quite often. Good luck with your investing :) | multibagger
17/7/2017 15:51 | Hi MultiThank you for the reply, I really appreciate it. I don't use Level 2 but always wanted to learn how to. I briefly had access a few months ago and while i understand the principle of it, I still haven't got my head around how and when to use it. I learn best through practice so think I need to go on a course to see it being used in action. Thanks againVR | villarich
17/7/2017 12:41 | Multi thank you for that makes interesting reading | berny3
17/7/2017 11:59 | Hi Villarich - no problems :) Sorry for the delay, as I have been busy.... This is a recent copy and paste from the Level 2 feed. I don't really do much trading, but I like watching the Level 2 movements when I can, as they tell a story about demand/supply at various prices. I find it interesting :) Connection status : Connected DISTIL PLC ORD 0.1P (AIM) Mid:2.9750 +0.2250 +8.1818% Close:2.7500 Open:2.9500 Trd High:3.1000 Trd Low:2.9500 Uncr:0.0000 VWAP:0.0000 Total Vol:3,606,928 SETS Vol: EMS:50,000 Spread:1.6667% 08:00 08:47 09:34 10:21 11:08 11:55 2.90 2.95 3.00 3.05 3.10 Status: 150,0002.9500 Buy Orders 11:06 PEEL 50,000 2.9500 08:02 SCAP 50,000 2.9000 08:04 WINS 50,000 2.8000 11:11 CFEP 50,000 2.8000 Depth 4Volume 200,000VWAP 2.8625 3.000050,0001 Sell Orders 3.0000 50,000 CFEP 11:11 3.1000 50,000 WINS 08:04 3.2000 50,000 SCAP 08:02 3.2500 50,000 PEEL 11:06 VWAP 3.1375Volume 200,000Depth 4 Latest Trades 11:27:55 2.9620 8,000 O 11:27:45 2.9620 3,122 O 11:26:02 2.9625 25,000 O 11:18:34 2.9625 13,502 O 11:17:22 2.9625 13,502 O 11:16:48 2.9625 13,098 O 11:13:14 2.9625 20,000 O 11:12:01 2.9999 99,670 O 11:11:28 3.0000 30,000 O 11:11:16 2.9500 33,401 O 11:01:32 3.0120 100,000 O 10:59:56 3.0120 20,000 O 10:59:14 3.0125 33,195 O 10:58:30 3.0125 415 O 10:54:34 3.0000 14,527 O 10:48:41 3.0149 16,187 O 10:45:48 3.0200 5,564 O 10:31:18 3.0500 32,591 O 10:27:26 3.0500 6,567 O 10:18:06 3.0500 5,411 O | multibagger

17/7/2017 10:43 | Multibagger - quick question if you don't mind? I'm starting to get into use of Level 2 to help me time trades. You mention that WINS are the only MMs left at 3.10. Is this on the sell side? Where are the other MMs sitting price wise? | villarich
